One of a Kind Dragon
Chapter 8 |Bombed|

Hope found her daughter curled in a ball in the middle of the courtyard, ripping grass out of the ground and throwing it at the fountain out of fear and anger, she was visibly shaking as the moonlight shone on her scales making them glow.

“I think the grass has had enough of the punishment you are giving it, now how about you stop trying to kill it and tell me why you are out here in the dead of night instead of in your bed like I told you to be 2 hours ago?”

Willow shifted her position so her back was facing the queen “I killed my sister, I disobeyed you-”

“Oh my baby you did what was right, even my guards disobey me when I make an unsmart decision, everyone has done it, and for your sister, it was either you or her and as long as you feel sorry for her and remember her spirit you made the right decision,” Hope interrupted softly

“But-” Willows was cut off by a bomb explosion from the palace, screams filled the courtyard as hundreds of dragons came scrambling out into the courtyard. Willows’s head snapped up at the sound of claws on stone

“Queen Willow! Someones attacking!” someone screamed.

“Shut up Core! She already knows!” someone yelled back

“Well I’m sorry Light! I had no idea!” Core yelled angrily

“Also a Stellatail is looking for some called Willow! Does anyone know who Willow is?” someone else asked another dragon

“That’s Queen Willow you idiot! All of you are idiots!” cried Light.

In a flash, Willow was gone. She flew as fast as she could to the origin of the sound, bombs flew through the air, and the palace was up in flames in seconds.

Dragons were screaming and yelling at each other trying to get out of the fire and steer clear of the bombs and smoke.

Willow found a few black and purple dragons, and even some silver-scaled dragons laying dead on the floor, a pool of blood surrounding them. “Obscurustails and Stellatails!?” Willow whispered, surprised.

She scrambled past most dragons and had to fight off a few and even killed one dragon. “Willow, where are you? Willow!” someone cried as she rushed toward the sound, it was Darius. in his arms was a much older man with dark brown skin

The man had a knight uniform and a helmet. He had brown eyes and a small green bracelet.

Darius looked up at her and said “It’s Rollan he changed into human form before he got shot!” Willow saw the wound, an arrow with a silver feather end was embedded into his chest, and the tip of the arrow was peeking out from the other side.

Darius propped him on the small of Willow’s back and climbed in after her and she started to run.

She was able to get to the hatchery and lay Rollan down on a moss pillow safely. She went to find some supplies when a spear zipped past her ear.

She whipped around to see a Stellatail and a young woman dressed in all-black armour standing at the doorway. Willow shot at the dragon, her teeth bared and her claws extended.

The dragon shrieked as Willow landed on top of her full force knocking her over, and her helmet flew off. The dragon’s eyes were full of fear.

Willow immediately recognized the purple eyes and ring of silver scales around her neck.

“Lunar!?” she cried happily. She immediately lifted her and wrapped her wings around her.

Lunar locked eyes with Willow, and her eyes lit up “Willow! I have been looking for you!” Lunar cried as she put her snout on Willow’s shoulder, tears streaming down her snout. Willow turned around to find Darius staring wide-eyed at the woman, his face a dark shade of red, the woman’s eyes lit up

“Darius!” she cried happily running at him her hair flying behind her. She gave him a bear hug

“Rebecca!” Darius said hugging her back. “Where’re the kids, are they alright? Are you alright!?” he asked worriedly checking her face for any signs of damage

“Honey they’re right here and I’m fine! There’s no reason to be so worried!”

She moved away to reveal Void and Star. Darius smiled and lifted Void up.

“Did you protect your mama like I told you to?”

“I did Dad! I protect my mama!” Void cried happily. Darius smiled at Void and gave him a kiss on the top of his head.

“Now where’d did my starlit sky go?”

“I’m right here dad!” Star giggled as she poked her out from behind Rebecca.

“Well, why are you hiding from me? Come give me a hug!” Darius said bending down. Star scrambled for Darius as he opened his arms. Star collided into Darius’s arms giving her a hug.

Darius lifted her up from the ground as Star giggled hysterically.

Suddenly an explosion went off near the hatchery scaring four dragonets who came scrambling in trying to get away from the fire. Lunar and Willow looked at each other and they both took two.

“Lunar follow me, the fastest way out is through the window!” Willow yelled as Darius, Rebecca, Star and Void scrambled up Willow’s back wings. Void whimpered, and Star dug her head into Darius’s neck, crying.

“I am immune to flame, I can make it out through the tunnel!” she called over the roaring flames. Willows vision started blurring,

"No, not now! I can't faint , not when everyone's life is on the line!"

“I can’t lose you again!” Willow cried looking at Lunar’s eyes

“Willow I have to! The window leads to the courtyard which is full of dragons! I will look like a threat, I am going through the tunnel whether you like it or not!” Lunar yelled, and she was gone.

Willow knew if she went out the window she would be known as queen, but she didn’t want to marry anyone else except for Lunar, “Brace yourself!” Willow called up to everyone and headed straight for the angry red flames.

Darius and Rebecca watched as the wall of fire swallowed them, as they tried to comfort Void and Star, in which neither kids were helping Willow keep calm in order to help them without fainting

Willow slowly opened her eyes. The flames licked her sides but did not burn her, she walked further and further into the fire, the dragons cooing at the sight.

Willow and the dragonets started to cough as the smoke reached their lungs.

They reached the main hall which led them out of the fire and into the rain. Willow dropped the dragonets onto the wet grass, before collapsing in a coughing heap.

Willow started to cough up blood, and the dragonets started shaking her, Darius and Rebecca were calling her name but she could barely hear them, her blood splattering over their claws and hands, one dragonet tapped her leg and she sat up fast howling in pain.

She looked at her leg and realized why. She had a huge deep burn that ran from her back thigh to her neck. It was an ugly charred black, her scales were already trying to knit over the wound.

One look at it and she got sick all over the grass, she realized most of it was blood.

Darius was trying to bring her back, while Rebecca was tending to the wound

She knew she was losing so much blood, more blood than she had ever lost, and she thought she started to get dizzy and hallucinate, as a large brown dragon with green underwings, and an arrow sticking out of his chest appeared in front of her.

The huge dragon came running towards her when a slender black dragon came out of nowhere and slammed full force into the brown dragon knocking him over and pinning him down with his underbelly exposed, the large dragon roared as he tried to pry the black dragon off him. The black dragon held her ground and plunged her tail on his heart.

She stepped off him and raced over to her and crouch down looking straight into her eyes while Darius started to help Rebecca by collecting the dragonets, Star and Void, and Willow passed out unaware that what she saw was real.
