Chapter 9 |Monster|

Bright light flooded the room as Willow opened her eyes. She slowly twisted her head to see Lunar sitting beside her, her eyes were off into space

“Lunar?” Willow whispered trying to sit up.

“Willow, you can’t do that,” Lunar said, pushing her softly back down.

“What happened?” Willow asked her eyes shifting to white as her side gave a sharp cry of pain

“What happened!?” Lunar burst out her eyes flooding with tears “You almost killed yourself for me Willow! That’s what happened!” Willow’s eyes turned to deep purple.

Lunar started to cry so hard Willow couldn’t hear her voice over her crying.

“Lunar!” Willow shrieked. Lunar’s head shot up

“I couldn’t live as a queen without you... I was scared that when I was queen I would have to face life without you.” Willow explained

“But you can’t go hurting yourself like that!” Lunar cried. Willow gripped her shoulders in her talons

“I will sacrifice myself if it meant you would live a better life! Get that through your head!” Willow roared, her eyes flashing to a deep red, and then back to the lavender and sea green.

Willow suddenly felt sad, her eyes shifting to a light blue, as she wrapped her wings around Lunar and let her cry into her shoulder.

“I can’t believe I still love you,” Lunar whispered

“Neither can I but I do, and I always will. ” Willow whispered back. They pulled apart when they heard the door open, Willow turned to the door to see Darius and Rebecca standing at the door.

His blond braid hung over his shoulder, his left arm in a sling. His face was full of hurt and sadness, Rebecca already had tears streaming down her face, and Darius’s good arm was wrapped around her shoulder as if to comfort her.

“Willow?” Darius choked, his voice cracking. He looking like he was ready to cry.

“Yes?” she answered her eyes turning to a light grey one of curiosity

“I’m so sorry,” Darius choked, “he never deserved it.”

“Who are you talking about?” Willow questioned. Lunar stared wide-eyed at Dauris, she looked at her claws. Lunar, wrapped her wings around herself, hiding her entire body.

“Lunar? What’s wrong?” Willow asked as she reached towards her.

“I’m so sorry Willow...” Darius said from the door looking at her with pity.

“Why are you sorry? What’s wrong? What’s going on?” Willow asked confused. “It Rollan... Rollan is dead” Lunar said quietly

“Are you sure, like did he st-” Willow asked confused

“Rollan is dead because I killed him!” Lunar interrupted “I killed him! I killed your father! I killed him, I did it, to protect you-”

“You what!?” Willow interrupted. Donovan over took her mind

“I-I killed Rollan,” Lunar said closing her wings slightly

“Why did you even get the idea to kill one of the only people I love!” Willow cried slamming Lunar into the hospital bedpost “Rollan was like a father to me and you killed him! There is no way in the world you didn’t know-”

Willow’s eyes shifted to her lavender and sea green eyes. She looked shocked for a minute before looking around the room to see Darius, Rebecca, Void, Star in the doorway, and Lunar crumpled on the ground by the bed. Everyone in the doorway backed away. Darius stood at the front, staring wide-eyed at Willow.

Willow reached forward to ask what had happened, but Darius moved further back as Star started crying

“Darius? What happened? Why are you-”

“Get out of my sight you monster" Darius cried as he held his bow up the arrow pointing at Willow’s heart.

He didn’t hit her with the arrow but he might as well have. Willow couldn’t believe he had called her a monster. Willow didn’t know what to do.

She reached out trying to understand what had happened and he let his arrow fly, it missed her face by inches but he caught her ear and screamed at her to leave.

Blood trickled down her ear, as her eyes shifted, yet they were not blue, they were black. Willow couldn’t believe he was abandoning her because of something she didn’t remember doing. Willow looked him in the eye, anger filling her voice as she spoke, her eyes remained black

“I am no monster, I am no bad guy. I was a hero. You changed that. You changed me into a killer, if you want to call me a monster go ahead, all it does is affect the rest of us, what you do has changed me, it has changed all of us, you changed Rebecca by falling in love, you changed Rollan into a good guy, you changed me into your weapon, a killer, if it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place if you call me a monster or bad guy, OR ANYTHING ELSE, that’s what I will become if that’s what you want, which seems to be the case”

Willow walked out of the room, her tail slithering behind her.

“Willow, wait!” Rebecca called. Willow bolted down the hall of the hospital, carts and cleaning supplies crashing to the floor, she burst through the hospital doors and ran down the street toward the castle. She didn’t slow down until she got into the castle.

She walked around the castle until the sun went down past the horizon before finding her mother sitting in the courtyard staring up at what looked to be a sheet, but at second glance, Hope was surrounded by the most beautiful galaxy and constellations and Willow had ever seen.

Hope looked anxious. Willow walked quietly towards her.

“Moth-” Willow tried to say.

“Quiet!” Hope cut in, resting her claw on Willows snout. Willow tried reaching out to Hope but Hope smacked her claws away

Willow snapped her claws back, glaring at her mother.

“Mom!” Willow said.

“Yes Willow?” Hope replied continuing to play with the constellations

“Is Rollan really my father?” she asked quietly. Hope stopped moving almost instantly

“Mom?” Willow asked again tilting her head confused.

“Yes... what he said is true,” Hope answered weakly “that was how I lost my first daughter”
