Chapter 7 |Battle|

The rest of the speech and the battle were a blur until Hope was stabbed in the back with Malum’s sharp iron tail tip.

Her mother fell forward but caught herself and crouched down. The crowd thought the fight was over but Malum wanted to finish her mother off.

Malum was about to lunch into the air when Willow cried,

“I Princess Willow of the Auroratails will take the place of Queen Hope of the Auroratails.”

Mummers and gasps filled the arena as Willow’s voice echoed off the walls arena.

Willow was now extremely nervous as she was escorted into the arena. The bright light blinded her for a moment, and then her vision returned.

Millions of dragons lined the arena walls. All of them were cheering her name.

“Princess Willow of the Auroratails and Princess Malum of the Auroratails, Fangs ready, Fight!” yelled the announcer flying out of the way as Malum lunged at Willow, her claws extended.

Willow immediately dodged but Malum nicked Willow’s ear. Willow jumped, twisted around, and slashed Malum’s underbelly blood splattering on Willow’s claws and face. Malum shrieked in pain as she landed.

Willow backed up but she was not quick enough, Malum twisted around and kicked out her back legs hit Willows’s chest and her claws slashed at her snout. Pain shot thru her snout, chest, and ribs. Willow groaned in agony.

Willow twisted around and jumped onto her sister, ignoring the pain completely, and took Malum’s only horn in her claws and slammed her head into the wall. Her sister half conscious blood pouring out of a newly opened wound whispered,

“Willow, no one will love you, not even her, but I can’t believe you love thatthingso much you would have yourself killed for her yet she couldn’t do the same for you.”

While Willow was distracted from what she said she slipped out of her grasp and flipped over her, landed on her back, and bit her tail.

Willow roared and flipped Malum off, she twisted and shot up catching her sister’s snout in mid-air and clawed her eye causing Malum to claw Willow’s neck.

“Lunar has always loved me, everyone loves me and I must have been the only dragon or person to love you in your life. I am sorry that I have to do this to my sister but it’s either you or I and I’m not dying, ’cause I got shit to do.” Willow seethed,

Willow sliced Malum’s wing with her claws and let go, sending her spiraling toward the ground.

Malum cried out in pain and clawed at the air searching for anything she could latch onto but she was too late. She hit the ground with a crack.

She went still, her body lay motionless on the sand. Cheers filled the arena. Everyone was screaming her name. Tears filled her eyes as Willow twisted around and flew off too scared to face her friends and her mother.
