Chapter 2031 What's His Name

"Ms. Chelsea, what if?"

"No worries." To his surprise, Athena returned the iPad to Mike and pushed open the hospital room door.

Byron immediately turned to look.

Byron smiled when he saw her. "Hey, honey, you're here."

Then he pointed to the foot of the bed. "The kid said you brought him to the hospital, patched up his wound, and he's been singing your praises."

Athena followed his gaze, but there was nothing there.

"Byron, do you remember why you're here?" Athena sat down next to him.

Mike followed her inside, his eyes fixed on the situation.

If Byron made a move, he was prepared to intervene and end it once and for all.

Byron's mind was blank. "I remember that he called me last night, and then I sent Martin to find him. Martin couldn't locate him, so I went out."

After that, the events became hazy in Byron's memory.

Byron realized something was wrong with his memory and was now hospitalized.

Byron's face went pale. "Did I do something wrong?"

Athena's heart broke into pieces, over and over.

Ennis' fragmented words gave her a rough idea of what had triggered Byron's condition.

Her faked death and escape were one of the catalysts. The subsequent brain damage from severe injuries and the torment of pain had compounded upon that trigger, resulting in Byron's complete breakdown.

She couldn't help but wonder why Byron had gone insane when she had been the one deeply hurt initially.

"Thea, what's on your neck?" At that moment, Byron noticed a bruise that had peeked out from under Athena's collar.

He reached out to touch it.

"It's just a bruise," Athena pressed his hand down firmly.

Byron looked at her, and his face began to fall. "Did I cause that?"

Athena looked at him. "Byron, do you remember the boy's name? Did you ask him?"

Athena believed that the appearance of the boy couldn't be coincidental.

She thought of their similar backgrounds and wondered if he might be a younger version of Byron.

Byron asked, "Who?"

Athena nodded towards the foot of the bed. "Him."

Byron slowly turned his gaze to the boy, his face covered in bruises, with his arm suspended. The boy innocently smiled at him.

Byron asked, "You still haven't told me your name. What is it?"

Mike glanced away, his expression unusually serious.

"Larry, Uncle. My name is Larry Crawford."

Byron froze.

"What's his name?" Athena tightly gripped Byron's hand.

She thought that if she knew the boy's name, it might help Byron snap out of the hallucinations.

After all, Ennis had mentioned that knowing one was in a hallucination could help distinguish reality from illusion.

"Larry," Byron looked at Athena.

Athena was also frozen.

She asked in shock, "What's his name?"

Byron said, puzzled, "Larry. And it's the same name as that guy's. You share the Crawford last name, too. Why didn't you mention it earlier?"

The boy, Larry, looked at Byron, his gaze bright and clear. He didn't answer. He just tilted his head innocently and smiled.
