Chapter Twenty-eight

(Alexander POV)

I held my moon the whole way back to the apartment to be with our pups again. It was more than an eight-hour drive and my moon still sleeping as we got back there. When we finally got there, it was already dark, so most likely Marcus and Alexis were already in bed. David showed me to his apartment to my little moon’s room so we could both rest. I laid her on the bed and went to get her one of my shirts that I had packed for the trip so she may sleep in it. As soon as I get my shirt onto her and her back into bed, I hear little feet running toward the room. When the door swings open to have Marcus and Alexis come jumping onto the bed all excited to see their mom was back.

“Daddy, is mommy alright?”

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of Alexis calling me daddy.

“Don’t worry princess, mommy is only sleeping right now. So, why aren’t the two of you in bed sleeping?”

“We both decided that we want to sleep with you and mom tonight. Can we Dad?”

I just looked over to Marcus and Alexis with both their bright eyes looking at me with hope. How can I ever say no to something like that?

“Sure, you both can sleep with us tonight.”

I walked over to my bag to pull out a pair of sweats to wear instead of just the boxer that I was going to wear. I patted the bed for the pups to lay between me and my moon as I went to the bathroom to change. I got out of the bathroom to see that Marcus was laying closer to Aurora and Alexis laying closer to my side of the bed. I fall asleep with my family feeling a peace I haven’t felt in years.

(Aurora POV)

When I finally woke up, I was surprised to see where I was and that I wasn’t alone in the bed. My neck was still hurting as I looked over to see not only that Alex was in my bed but so was Marcus and Alexis were in my bed as well. I never thought I would have seen this day if my whole family were together. I also feel that I’m slowly becoming myself again, from losing who I am the last few days. My life has become one big puzzle of who are or aren’t my parents, who am I, and getting back with my mate. For some reason I decided to just go back to sleep, to just wake up later to an empty bed. I looked over to the clock on my nightstand to see that it was now around noon, and I needed to make lunch for the kids, but before I can get out of my bed the door swings open to Raina running to the bed jumping onto me and squeezing the hell out of me.

“OMG Aurora, I missed you so much. Promise you’ll never leave me again.”

“I think you just broke my ribs.”

“Oh Aurora, don’t be a baby.”

I just glared at her, until I noticed the mark on her neck. No way, she met her mate while we were apart, but the mark seemed just made.

“Raina, that mark seems new. When did you find your mate and who is he?”

“Oh yeah that. Well, we met a few days ago and my mate is David. The guy that you been living with.”

“Wow, I’m so happy for you Raina.”

“Are you really? I mean I know the two of you were living together for four years now and I was a little worried that there might have been feeling for each other.”

“No, I have never had those feelings for David. I guess my heart even though hurt still belonged to your brother.”

She smiled as she looked at my neck and I almost forgot that Alex had marked me as well.

“Wait, where is Alex and the kids?”

“They’re in the kitchen making lunch for you to bring it to you in bed. Oh, I think I hear them coming now.”

She smiles as she gets off the bed and heads for the door. Not long after she leaves Alex walks in with a try and two little running in screaming as they run toward me in bed.

“Mommy, mommy Marcus and I helped daddy make you something to eat for lunch. I hope you like it.”

“Hey, my little moon I hope you slept well and hungry. We made you chicken katsu sando sandwich and a bowl of creamy asparagus soup.”

“Wow, thank you everyone.”

“Yeah, Alexis stirred the soup, and I helped dad with the sandwich.”

I took a taste of the food, and it was surprisingly good. After I ate and we got the kids down for a nap I helped Alex clean up the kitchen from lunch.

“So where is David and Raina?”

“They went out to spend some time getting to know each other more. I told David that we can watch Muriel for him, and I wanted us to talk about everything.”

He takes my hand leading me over to the couch, sits down and pulls me into his lap. We sit there for a while just enjoying being together after being apart for a little over four years.

“Little moon what happened after you woke up from the forest?”

“Do you mean when we were together?”

“Yes.”

“When I woke up Darian…I mean my father was on top of me yelling at me for betraying him with another man. He kept calling me his angel or Aiden my mom. I try telling him who I truly was, but he wasn’t listening to me and then try to bite my neck.”

“Little moon, he didn’t almost he did bite you. You were just lucky that it was shallow, and more like a deep scratch. I could have lost you forever if I didn’t get there in time to mark you myself.”

He held me closer to his chest and I could feel that he was trying not to cry so he can keep from showing a weak side of him.

“So, did anything else happen while I was out of it?”

“Well, Xavier finally found his mate and it’s your really mom’s sister.”

“Wow, I can’t believe he has finally found her. I met her during my dinner with Darien and I thought she looked familiar. She reminded me of the girl in my dreams that I been having on and off since I was young, and now I know why.”

I sat there in his lap just enjoying laying my head on his chest listening to the sound of his heartbeat and the feeling of his body heat on my skin. We stayed that way until I realized I should start making dinner. I decided that I was going to make roasted chicken and red potatoes. I also will be making green bean with almond slices and chocolate mousse. Alex got the kids up from their naps and watched them as I was making dinner. When dinner was done, and the table was set that I heard a knock on the door. I don’t think anyone was coming over tonight but was happy that I made enough dinner to feed up to eight people if I needed to. I opened the door to find King Darius and my real mother Queen Aiden that I was not prepared to see this soon.

“I’m really sorry Aurora, but I didn’t want to wait any longer to finally get to know my daughter better. I hope it’s alright with you and I also want to see my grand pups as well.”

“No, it’s alright. I hope the both of you are hungry because I just got done with dinner and would like to know if you want to join us for dinner?”

“Yes, please. Darius and I will love to have a family meal with you guys.”

I went back into the kitchen so I could grab a few more plates to set the table for two more guests. As I finish the table and set up all the food, Alex walks in with the little ones already for dinner.

“I see that King Darius and Queen Aiden will be joining us for dinner this evening.”

“Yeah, I thought it be nice not only for the kids to know their grandma, but also for me to know her and see how it’s like to have a mom who wants me. Even though it would have been nice to get to know my real father more and for the kids to meet him, but I don’t want to let go of Kaven as my dad.”

Alex came over to hug me and kiss my forehead.

“I know my little moon that you want to know your real parents, but no you don’t have to let your father Kaven go. He was always there for you as a child and still loves you very much even though he knows you’re not his child by blood. In his mind you’re his daughter no matter blood or not.”

We all sat down to eat as I watched Queen Aiden closely wanting to know more about her, but for some reason too afraid to ask her. I want to know her, and I also want to know about my real father. I looked over to King Darius as I noticed that he and my father were very much identical, but their hair weren’t the same color. Why not though?

“Queen Aiden, may I ask you something about you and my father?”

“Yes, you may Aurora. You may ask me anything that you want too, and I’ll always be honest to you, my daughter.”

“He explains to me how you two met and how you two spilt apart. He also told me that it was his pack that attack the castle to get me.”

“Yes, it was him who wanted to take you from me. He wanted you because he felt having you is to have something that he does not have to share with his brother like he does me. When you and my sister disappear, we were all left was the idea that you were killed. At first, I did hope that your father did have you, but in time I found out from him that he didn’t have you.”

I can tell she was trying so hard not to break down into tears in front of everyone.

“Aurora, I need to talk to you about your father.”

“What about Dad?”

“He lost himself to the wild wolf.”
