Chapter Twenty-nine

(Aurora POV)

“Mom, what do you mean he has lost himself to the wild wolf?”

She paused as she looked toward King Darius and then back to me.

“Sweetheart, when I wolf loses his mate, he begins to lose control and revert to his primal animal instinct. There’s a bad chance that your father will never be human again.”

What? What is she talking about? Does this mean I already lost my father before I even had a chance to really meet him? I can’t have lost him; I need to do something to get him back. Yes, he has done wrong to me, but he didn’t mean to hurt me. I can’t believe what she’s telling me, that I already lost my dad before I really got the chance to have even more time with him. That he’s never going to be able to meet his grand pups.

“Mom, what can I do to get him back?”

“I don’t know sweetheart. Maybe if we can find the silver wolf together, then we’ll have a chance to speak to the goddess herself.”

“What can she do to help him?”

“Well, maybe she’ll be able to give him a second chance mate. I did find out there was a female that he finally got together with for a while, but because of this mate thing he wasn’t able to love her the way she needed him too and I was told she left him. That’s when he went after you to help him out to ask the moon goddess to make her his mate instead of me.”

He found someone that he wanted to love but ended up losing her because of this moon goddess. I know now what I need to do and that’s to find the silver wolf to reach the moon goddess herself to save my father.

Eight years later

(Marcus POV)

It’s been eight years since my mom and dad got back together. Not long after they got back together my mom had my younger sister Kiara, but we call her Kia. She was named after my mom’s aunt who saved her life when she was an infant. Right now, she’s pregnant with triplets. Identical twin boys and another girl. I’m happy there will be more males in the family. Today we’ll be having a party here in the castle for mine and Alexis’s 13th birthday party. We were supposed to go to Chicago, but there must have been something in the water because all the females were pregnant at the same time. My mom, my aunt Raina, Autumn, and Jasmine all were pregnant around the same time. So, my parents decided to invite all the people from Chicago to stay here for a week. Both Alexis and I already had our first shift. I had mine at 11 years old and Alexis had hers last month. My wolf’s name is Lucian and he’s a white wolf, but everyone already knew that’s what color his fur was going to be, but everyone was surprised to see that Alexis’s wolf Dahlia turned out to be black. There was a joke or a rummer going around and us being like yin and yang, it’s funny because our personality is somewhat opposite to each other. I was in my room getting ready for the party when the door flings open to an over excited sister jumping onto my bed.

“Marcus, Marcus their here. They’re all here.”

“Yeah, but you care about Kayden being here.”

“Shut up!”

“Come on Alexis, everyone knows that you hang onto to him every time you two are around each other and he’s the same with you as well.”

“You think that Kay feels for me?”

“Oh, little sister sometimes I wonder about you.”

“What’s that supposed to mean you jerk?”

She storms out of my room before I can say anything else to her. I finish getting ready for the party tonight wondering who the extra two people are going to be at the party. I overheard my mom talking to my Aunt Ana about her asking permission to bring an old friend and her daughter with her, and my mom was alright with it. So, I’m wondering who this person is that she’s bringing with her. I know Aunt Ana is at least about older than 500 hundred years old, so I wonder how old this witch is going to be and what color does she practice on. What’s her daughter going to be like, and I wonder how old she is. I grabbed a pair of black slacks and a white button up t-shirt. After brushing up my hair I went to look to see where my parents were, but I ran into Senri on the way.

“Hey Marcus, can you believe that it’s almost our thirteen birthdays. Soon we’ll be teenager and then we’ll be eighteen looking for our mates.”

“Is that all you can think about are females.”

“Well duh. Why wouldn’t I? Come on Marcus are you going to tell me that you’re not interested in finding out who your mate is?”

“No, not really.”

“What! You’re kidding me right now?”

I just looked at Senri and knew he was being serious about what he said, but so was I. I’m not sure finding my so-called mate is important to me at this moment. Maybe when I’m older I will be more into the idea of looking for a mate, but for now it’s not the first on my list of being important.

“Come on Senri, let’s go see what our parents are doing right now.”

We both went looking for our parents that I knew would be outside in the picnic area next to the pack house that has a play area for the younger pups to play on, so they wouldn’t get too bored. The adults were also planning on doing fireworks today because the weather is very warm for being in December which is 65 degrees. When we get to the picnic area, I can see my mom and dad by the grill already making the food for the party. I know my dad is excited to be cooking the food himself today. Alright is just hamburger, steak, and chicken, but he’s excited to be cooking anything. When I get closer, I can see my dad taking a hold of my moms’ hand and leading her to a close by chair to sit down.

“My moon, you need to sit down and rest. You need to get off your feet my little moon.”

“Come on Alex, I’m feeling alright, and I want to help out.”

“No, my little moon. You need to rest and not overdue things. Remember you’re carrying three of my pups this time and I need to take care of all four of you.”

He leans over my mom’s stomach and kisses it. Is this how it’s going to be when I find my mate? Do I even want to find my mate? It just seems so unfair that this so-called moon goddess decides who I’m going to spend my life with. I can tell that Senri is looking at my parents with the hope that one day he too will find his mate and be as happy as they are together. Not that long later I see that my Aunt Ana walking over with Kay, Joshua, Mizuki, Luciana, Scarlet, a woman I never seen and a young girl that I’m guessing is her daughter. The woman that I never seen had snow white hair, very pale skin, and light blue green eyes. The young girl looked to be about a year or so younger than me. She had brown hair, light olive skin and light silverish blue eyes that was odd because if that women’s her mother than she must of took her looks from her dad. I walked over to her to be polite and welcome them here.

“Hi, my name is Marcus, and your name is?”

“My name is Nakesha.”

“Hi Nakesha, my name is Senri, and I would love to get you a soda if you like.”

Wait, where did he just come from when I see him over by the table with his mom, but before I could even ask him my father seemed to be getting a link from someone from the pack.

“What’s wrong Alex?”

“I just got a link from Ben that there are some unknown wolves onto our land and I’m going to need to look into it.”

There was a scream from a female not too far from where we were and as all the male adults ran to as I follow not too far behind them. Not too after my dad, Seb, Dani, David, and the rest of the males all shift into wolf form and headed to the woods. I also decided to switch into Lucian so I can go after my father and the other males. When get to a clearing there was a woman on the ground who had silver hair surrounded by wolf’s that weren’t from our pack. My father goes in there to scare the other wolves away running with their tails between their legs. He then transfers back into human form to cheek on the woman.

“Miss, can you hear me? What happened?”

“I was attacked by wolves from the west side kingdom. King Ravana Demogorgon sent his wolves after me.”

“Why would he send his wolves after you?”

“Because I’m the silver wolf and his personal property. Please, I need you to find my mate and my daughter. I also need you to promise me that you are going to burn my body for I have taken a very deadly poison.”

“What is your mate’s name and where can I find them?”

Before she could answer she went quiet.

“She’s dead. Dani, go prepare the necessary preparation to cremate her body. I don’t know how we’re going to find out who she is or even who her mate is. Maybe we should get a hold of Queen Aiden since she said she was the silver wolf. She maybe knows who the female was.”

I was listening to my father until I heard a sound behind me and an unfamiliar smell of a wolf I don’t know. I looked the unknown wolf to find a guy who looked to be six foot or bigger, short blonde hair and cold grey eyes. I went back to human form as I hurried to get my boxer on.

“Who are you and why are you here on our lands?”

“So, you’re the little prince on the east side packs. I was excepting a bigger wolf from the white wolf.”

He gives a wicked smirk to me knowing he was being a smart ass, but with no warning he starts sniffing the air as a growl comes out of his mouth.

“I see that you have found my mate, but I don’t think it’s the right time for us to meet yet. It’s best that you keep your fucken hands off her, or I’ll have fun looking for your mate and have a little fun with her.”

“You, better not even think of touching her or you’ll see just how weak that I am not.”

He went to say something, but we both sensed others coming our way and they were wolves from my pack. He goes into a black wolf with silver fur and runs off.

“Marcus, who was that wolf?”

“I don’t know Beta Seb. He never told me his name, but I can tell by his wolf that he’s not just any wolf other than another royal himself.”

“We need to let your father know about this.”

I agreed with Beta Seb to let my Dad know of this wolf, but I can’t keep it out of my head on what he met that I had found his mate, and if I touch her what he’ll do to mine. One I don’t know who he can be talking about and two do I really care about what he can do to mine. I wanted to say no, but as soon as he said it, I became angry wanting to hurt him just for saying that about my mate. Only time will tell me about my feelings toward my mate will be or even if I want her.
