Alpha Dominic
Chapter 74

still Bethany's POV

“You can't tell him, Beth, he would never let you use his computer as bait. You just can't tell him now Beth, at least not yet." Harriet pleaded emphatically. This girl is definitely sick in the head, I mean, why would she want to repeat the same mistake we made earlier, why would she want me to hide the truth from Dominic after he specifically asked us to keep him in the loop when we start talking to king Ashford, why the hell would she want me to lie to him?

We are still seated on my bed, we have read and reread the instructions from King Ashford over and over again. He had beer so clear and direct in his instructions he did not mince words at all, he gave a detailed description of everything, instructing me like a child. First, he wants me to go into the woods, he said I would find a box at the foot of the oak tree that is in the northern part of the deep forest. He said the box contains everything I would need for this task, he even made it known to me that he provided everything because he doesn't want me to make the same mistake I had made earlier. He is referring to the time when I used the wrong potion for the generals. I guess a part of him thinks that it was simply a careless mistake on my part, but he still doesn't want me to repeat such a careless mistake, that is why he provided everything I need, leaving strict instructions for me to follow diligently. After going over his instructions, I was about to go to his office and inform Dominic about it, but Harriet had stopped me before I even got to the door,

“Hold it right there, Bethany. You are not planning on going over to the king with such meaningless pieces of information, ar you?”

“What on earth do you mean by that?” I retorted.

“King Dominic asked us to get trick king Ashford like we did the last time. We are so lucky this time around, he actually permitted us to do everything possible to get that bastard to trust you and reveal more information to you. He just said he needs you to hack into his computer, you don't even know if he is even serious about it, we can't trust that bastard, it could be a trap you know.”

“And why would king Ashford set a trap for me, what does he stand to gain?” I asked her, my eyebrow corked in question. “Not you Beth, it could be a trap for the king. Don't forget that he is still pissed at you for not completing the mission the other time and for ghosting him all this while. He could be trying to trick you, he may have found out the truth about you and the King, we still don't know who the mole is, remember?” she asked me convincingly, making a point with every word she lets out.

“Look Beth, I know you don't want to lie to the king and trust me, I don't want you to. I just need you to hold back from telling him everything, at least not yet. Let's just get the box first and see what it contains. It may be a trick, after all, there is only one way to find out, I suggest we go into the woods and find the box first, after verifying its contents, then we can inform the king." She said convincingly, getting into my head with her very convincing story. I think she is right, I need to hol it off for a few minutes before running off to Dominic. I decided to go into the woods and get the box first. I had to go alone because I don't want to be seen with Harriet, I don’t know if king Ashford's spies are close by, I could ruin this mission if 'm caught with Harriet. As she said, it could be a trap after all.

I left her waiting for me in my room, then I went into the woods to fetch the box. I don't know my way around these woods because I am still new to this castle and its surrounding, I had to go by the description that I got from Harriet, I took the roa that leads to the northern part of the woods. It wasn't that difficult to find it, I think it had just been dropped off, I could stil see the footprints on the sand and I can perceive the distinct scent of a rogue. I knew it wasn't his real scent, it just can't be a rouge. There is no way in hell that a rogue would be here for so long, his scent would have given away his position, and he would have been caught a long time. I think it is one of his making potions, they must have done a few alterations to the masking potions, making it scent the way they desire. This allows them to take the scent of anything and anyone, they could frame an innocent person if they leave your scent on a crime scene. This is not only devious, it is so evil and wicked, I just can't wait for them to be caught.

I could feel the hair on my skin standing on edge, it felt like a pair of eyes were on me, like I was being watched by someone But when I looked around I didn't see anything or anyone, it was completely deserted. I listened for any sounds, but I couldn't hear a thing, the whole place was just so silent, too silent if you ask me. Not even the chirping and singing of birds could be heard, it felt so strange, I had to get out of here before I get hurt, it could be more than a trap, it could be an ambush I don’t want to back down and ruin this mission, I could have left the box and run off for my dear life, but that coulc ruin this mission. He could be testing me to see how far I am willing to go, just to please him. I pushed off every disturbing thought, I bent down and picked up the box, then I took off into the wood, running back to the castle. i used the muffler I had brought to hide the box so I don't get stopped by the guards. Even after concerning the package, I still used the back door and I tried as much as possible to avoid every guest post.

“Where the f**k are you?" I heard Dominic ask me through our mind link. Damn, his voice is so sexy, especially when he is so pissed. I don't think it's a good idea to keep all this from him, jeez, what if I had been attacked in the woods, what if I had been hurt, how on earth would I be able to explain all this to him, he would never have forgiven me for putting myself in danger. Nah, I'm not listening to Harriet's words, not anymore. I don't know why she is trying to hide it from him, but I'm not listening to her anymore. I can't bear to put us both in danger anymore. Last time, she had been knocked out cold, who knows how bad it will be this time, they may have upgraded their weapons they could kill us both and king Dominic would be so f*****g pissed off at me, and it would all be my fault for listening to Harriet in the first place.

“Damn, you sound so sexy, Dom. I'm getting horny already.” I teased him through our mind link.

“Don't patronize me, Bethany. The guards saw you leaving the Castle, where the f**k are you?" he asked once more, sounding pissed off already, although I did hear him groan out loud when I told him that 'm horny already. I did not waste any more time trading him, I quickly told him about my conversation with King Ashford and I told him about the box as well.

“You should never have gone into the woods without my permission, what if something goes wrong, what if you got hurt?” hy asked me furiously, making me roll my eyes.

“I'm fine Dom. I got the box and now I'm on my way to our room. Let's move on already." I told him softly.

“Fine, don't do anything else. Just wait for me in the room, I'll meet you there in a few minutes.” He responded calmly. “Don't get too horny, I may go crazy with lust if I come in there and catch a whiff of your arousal. Don't tempt me, baby girl, Ill be forced to abandon my duties and satisfy your every desire. You know I can go at it all day and all night” He said teasingly, making me stop in my movement as I threw my head back, stuffing a moan.

“You bastard, I'll get you for this.” I told him angrily, hearing his resounding laughter as he severed our link. Damn, I'm going to kill this guy. He just served me a cold dish of revenge, paying me back in my own coin. Now I'm horny, so damn horny. What the hell am I going to do about it now?

I can't possibly get a chance to satisfy my desires, not when I'm so busy with this mission, not when king Ashford is waiting for my feedback on the mission. I'm sure Dominic did this on purpose, I'm definitely going to pay him back. When I got into the room, Harriet was waiting for me already. From the way she was standing in the middle of the room, I could tell that she was pacing the room since I left. I eyed her warily as we went through the contents of the box. We found some hard drives, cables, modems, and so on, it looks like they are not only trying to hack into his computer, they want to hack into his whole security network as well. This is bad, this is so bad. I have to find a way to deceive this guy, how the hell can I do this, how can I trick king Ashford on this kind of mission?

Damn!

It's 50 F****g hard!

“We can handle this Beth, we don't need to involve the king. We can get this done in no time, we just need to come up with way to trick King Ashford into believing that you are already carrying out his instructions, we can handle this mission on our own.” I was so shocked when Harriet said those words to me, it sounded so alien coming from her, I was just so shocked. Like, how on earth does she expect us to go on, how does she want us to do it, we could both be Killed. It had been so difficult to pick up this box, I can't begin to imagine how difficult it would be if we chose to run this mission on our own. I tried so hard to make her see reasons with me, but she was bent on stopping me from telling Dominic, she kept pleading and begging me, giving me many meaningless reasons why it would be good to hide this from Dominic. I couldn't help noticing that she is so desperate to hide the truth from Dominic and it's making me so suspicious of her motives, is there something she is hiding from us, is she one of the moles that king Ashford is using to carry out his mission?

I couldn't keep shut anymore, I had to speak my mind, I just have to ask. Keeping would not help this situation, I need to know if I'm trusting the wrong person.

“What is going on with you Harriet, why are you acting so strange and why would you want me to lie to Dominic, why would you tell me to keep this away from him?” I asked her calmly, watching as her face took on a guilty look, she looks so sad, I could see the tears in her eyes as they threatened to spill down her cheeks. I was so concerned and worried about her that I failed to listen to my surroundings. I did not hear the door opening and shutting, I did not even hear him walking up the stairs, I only heard his raspy voice as he yelled at Harriet,

“You had better start talking before I get mad at you."
