Bethany's POV

“Miss Delaney, respond.”

“I need you to respond, Miss Delaney.”

“You need to talk to me right now or I'm cutting you off immediately. You should know that I don't work with f*+*+*g amateurs. If it wasn't for your father, I would never have worked with you, I don't recruit quitters. I don't have any more time to waste on you, Miss Delaney, this is your last chance. If you don't respond to me, I'm taking you off the team and you will become my number one enemy, I'll F*++**g kill you if you change sides."

“Your father would be so disappointed. How could you get in bed with the enemy, you are a disgrace to your family. Be warned Miss Delaney, you are now on my hit list, Ill #*****g kill you for turning your back on me, if I can’t have you, nobody will. Not even that a*****e, Dominic."

I can't believe that king Ashford is furious because I haven't been responding to his messages. For crying out loud, I have a life to live, I can't spend every waking hour taking orders from him and carrying out his instructions. Gosh, this is so f*****g annoying, I would never have picked up this phone. I can't begin to imagine how screwed up it would have been if I was truly a mole. I wonder if this is how he treats all his moles, or maybe itis just me. If this is how he treats all his moles, then I thin} it would be quite easy to catch a mole. All Dominic has to do is to shut down the cell towers around his Castle, making it virtually impossible for them to communicate with their evil king. They would never be able to sit it out, they know just how paranoid king Ashford can be, they wouldn't want to be kicked out of his team, they would do everything possible to pass a “message across to him. They would be too desperate to reach him, their desperation would make them jittery and they would make a mistake that would lead us right to them. I passed the phone over to Harriet who sat next to me, looking at m quizzically. We had been trying out all these beautiful things that I just got from the mall earlier, Dom is such a sweetheart, he never complained or disagreed, he got me everything I need and lots more.

“Damn, he sounds so pissed.” Harriet muttered softly, snapping me out of my thoughts.

“I know right. Why the hell is he so paranoid, 'm not some robot that he can control and order as he pleases, am I?"

“No, Beth, that is not it. This feels off, so off. He is not just paranoid, he sounds edgy. He wasn't this way before now, was he? I think something has changed, he needs something very important from you, that is the only reasonable explanation here, not unless the Lycan king has suddenly gone crazy. I think he needs something that only you can get for him, or maybe it's a mission that only you can handle. In any case, I think this is a perfect opportunity to achieve our goal. We had failed to succeed the last time, but not this time Beth, this time, we will get those bastards." She spat out furiously. I guess she hasn't forgotten the incident with the two generals that got murdered. Who would blame her, she had been the one who got hit when the mole wanted to escape, I can't begin to imagine what that incident would do to her ego. She is one of the king's generals, yet she couldn't stop that bastard from killing her friends. Is she feeling guilty about it?

I certainly hope not.

“Errmmm,

Isita good idea to try that one more time, I was thinking about something we could do right here without involving king Ashford. Actually, I got the idea from the messages I got from king Ashford. I think we can get them to expose themselves if we shut down the cell tower that covers this area and makes it impossible for them to reach king Ashford, it would force them to go out of their way and try to find a way to communicate with him, that could get them exposed, right?” I asked suggestively.

“Yes, that could work if only king Dominic would agree to shut down the cell towers. Don't forget that if he shuts down the cell tower, it is going to affect him as well. I would suggest that you speak to king Ashford and get him to trust you again. I think he needs you this time, he wouldn't sound so desperate if he doesn't need you desperately. You can get him to talk, easily, you just have to be smart and confident when you speak with him, you have to use your charms on him, Beth, I'm sur you know what I mean. You have done this before, it's part of your job. Being with Dominic shouldn't change that. Just get him talking, we can get it right this time.” She told me calmly, sounding so convincing. I hope she is right, I hope I am able to get him to trust me again after those crazy messages he left for me. I picked up my phone and sent a text,

“I would never think of abandoning my duties, I came to you for help, remember?” I sent it immediately after I finished typing because I may change my mind about this whole thing. I don't know why, but it feels so wrong, so damn wrong. It feel like cheating on my mate. I guess it's because I know that king Ashford has other things in mind whenever he is talking to me. The pervert has made it known to me that he wants me in his bed. I wish he knows how much he disgusts me. I just can’ talk to him without thinking about the things he said to me, I can't even stand him anymore, he disgusts me. I don't know if is the mating bond, or something else, but I just can't stand the guy anymore. The phone vibrated and fell out of my hand. I picked it up immediately and when I looked at the screen, I discovered that it is king Ashfords secret line. His response is so fast, I mean very, very fast. He did not even reply with a text like he used to, he called me back immediately. If I didn't know better, I would say that he had been waiting by the phone for me to respond to his messages. Maybe Harriet is right, after al I think he needs me. I looked up at Harriet and she needed eagerly, urging me to take his call. I picked it up and put it on speaker,

“Good evening my King," I greeted politely.

“Status Report.” He ordered fiercely, sounding so pissed.

“Everything is fine from my end. The King has not found anything on me that could arouse his suspicion. I had to lay low because of the death of the generals, the guards around the Castle have been doubled at every station. It took me some time, but I've finally found my way around his heavy guards, I can now carry out my duties to you” I lied my ass off. My voice came out so confidently, that I was even shocked at my own composure. Where the hell did I learn to lie so much. Damn, I'm such a bad girl, yeah, 'm so bad.

“I don't tolerate such amateur behavior, Miss Delaney. You seem not to know how important this mission is. I don't care how tough the situation is, I demand an update from my faithful warrior every f*****g day. If you want to continue working with me, you have to be prepared to take any action and follow every order. You must take the risk, Miss Delaney. So tell me, are you prepared to risk your life for this mission?” he asked me sternly, making me roll at his selfish thoughts. I can't believe that he is prepared to put our lives at risk as long as he gets what he is looking for. Just how evil is this guy?

“Yes my King, I am ready to do anything you ask, I want king Dominic dead” I lied once more, keeping my tone flawless and fluent.

“Good. That means we are still on the same page. Keep your phone close, you will be sent instructions on your next mission in the next few minutes. I need you to carry out this mission first thing in the morning. Don't fail me this time, you won't get another chance.” He warned me sternly before hanging up on me. Gosh, he is so rude and selfish. He isn't even bothered about my own safety, all he cares about is his mission and his throne. I can't believe that there was a time when I fancied this guy, I have always thought that he is a much better king. Well, now I know better, now I know how stupid I was to trust ir a pervert.

We sat together, waiting patiently for his instructions. My heart kept beating faster every minute, I don’t know why I'm feelin: this nervous. I guess I'm still worried about the death of the generals as well, I don't want this mission to end up like the other one, I can't watch some innocent people die because of my stupid mistakes, I just hope this mission is not like the other one. The message came in a few minutes later. Despite the fear within me, I open it to see what he wants this time. My fingers were shaking as I read through his instruction. Harriet and I turned to gaze at each other in surprise, this request is very unusual. He is sending me to Dominic's office, he wants me to grant him access to Dom's computer, he said he needs it done by morning tomorrow. I just couldn't wrap my head around this mission, it sounds so strange, I mean,

“What the hell does he want with Dominics computer?”
