When I woke up was toasty and warm and pressed up against Kane, he was still naked and the events from last night came back in a few flashes. Surprisingly I didn't feel any shame or like I had been raped, because I didn't have anything to do with us actually having sex, that was all on my damned wolf. I tried to jump out of the bed but his arm was snaked around my waist and I was trapped and getting even more aroused with each second I think about us laying naked pressed against each other. Okay, this was my fault. Now I was getting horny. This I couldn't blame on the damn wolf.

Kane was fast asleep but he was aroused as well I knew this by the ever-present erection poking me in the side. This was the first time any guy had ever done that. What was a mate anyway? I knew some things about wolves from overhearing my parents and my mom told me some things. I looked at Kane, as best as I could without waking him up. I didn't want to wake him up and disturb his sleep. Once he stopped moving I let a deep breathe out and his eyes flew open right away. He did a quick scan of the room and then pulled me even closer to him. His "little" friend was pressed against my stomach at this point. He moved his leg probably to get comfortable and he ended up rubbing on my little friend making my eyes almost roll back in my head as I let out a whimper. That was so not manly. What was I to say though, he had a good manhood.

He growled and I was on my back in seconds, He was on top of me sniffing my neck and licking a spot on my shoulder. I was pressed up against him in the strange need to have him touching me everywhere. I wanted him again, but this time I wanted to be the one in control. It was like the worst feeling of needing something. His eyes went yellow and he tore the shirt right of me and left me in the open air, I felt my nipples grow hard. I used my legs and wrapped them around his hips and pulled myself to him, he got what I wanted and he began to get ready to give me what I wanted when Arrow threw open the door and pulled me from my mate and began to dress me.

"Hey, stop! I want this! I need him!"

" Quinn stop, rouges are attacking and I was asked to take you from here!"

Kane looked at me and I heard his voice in my mind, though he hadn't said anything. He must be able to speak to me as my wolf could?

I hadn't meant to tell him I loved him, I just felt like it was the right words to say that moment. Arrow grabbed me and ran to the car with me, He dumped me in the passenger seat and opened the garage door and peeled out of the driveway. On the way down the driveway, I saw my dad and mate shift and attack the rouges, many wolves had already fallen but I didn't understand that they were rogues. He was still driving when I saw the women laying there bleeding. I could tell she was pregnant.

"Arrow! Stop! That woman needs our help!"

He stopped the car and I ran to help the lady. She saw me and smiled her hand on her belly, I could see she was dying and she was in labour. Thank god for the summer job I had taken at the hospital, I had seen live births and picked up on a few things.

"I saw you in my dreams..." she said as I tried to help her give birth, finally we heard the cries of a new baby, I pulled my coat off and wrapped the child up. Arrow cut the cord with his nail and as I tried to give her the baby she pushed it away and her hand wrapped around my wrist. Pain as hot as molten lava surge up my arm and I could hear her speak.

I gave you my everything, be strong elder wolf.

The lady died and as she did, I watched her body turn to ash and blow away. I found myself almost in a strange shock, it was almost peaceful. I could feel my wolf digging at the back of my mind in a frenzy.

That was so not about to happen. I was not about to lick some unclean baby. But again what the hell was I supposed to do with it? She said it was mine! Arrow pulled into a parking lot and carefully took the small baby from me. he gave me a credit card and pointed to the very clear baby store.

"Go buy some things, the main things are clothing and food, perhaps some cleaning products for it too, do not forget diapers!"

Walking into the store I was really confused. What the hell did I know about buying things for babies! After a while and a bunch of help from a sales lady, I went back out to the car and Arrow gave me back the baby. He was quick to load up the stuff, but keep out a sleeper, wipes and diaper.

"Clean him, put the diaper on and dress him."

“l..um.."

The small one didn't like me cleaning him. He screamed at the top of his lungs right up until I had him dressed and was holding him against my chest. Getting back to the pack land it looked fine. Except Kane was nowhere to be found as I scanned all the wolves, I wasn't sure how I knew he wasn't there, but I just knew it.

"Kane got a hurt a little and----"

"Show me to him now!"

My heart was beating like I was having a heart attack. Following Arrow, we found Kane and he was just getting out of a chair, stitches clearly visible in his arm. His eyes took in my figure as he sniffed. His eyes widened as he saw the small baby in my arms. My wolf slammed through the barriers of my mind and took over.

"Please don't hurt him!"

"I would never! My wolf is digging at the edges of my mind to protect the little one, where did you get it?"

"A woman in the forest on the way out gave him to me. She said she saw me in her dreams and then she burned me.”

Remembering the burn I pulled up the sleeve of my sweater and the only thing I saw was clean white skin, there was no burn, not even a mark.

"I swear she burned me."

"Did she name him?"

"No, she died right after she birthed him and basically gave him to me. Do I like call the police?"

"No, he was given to you, he is yours. You can't just give him away, that's the worst thing you could do.”

Call him Forest, Forest Ryder...

"Hey, what's your last name?"

"Mine is Dawson, why?"

"I'd Like to call him Forest, Forest Ryder Dawson."

"That is perfect!”

With Luanne’s help, we baby proofed a bunch of stuff before I laid him down in the little bed we made. Looking at the dirty state of my feet I went to shower. Taking all my clothing off the first thing I noticed was the black pawprint on the base of my neck. What the hell is that! That's our mating mark! mate has one too!

I could hear whimpering as I pushed my wolf back and stepped under the spray of water. Cleaning myself quickly I pulled on the large shirt I brought in with me. Walking to the bed I slipped into the bed and curled up.

The sound of a baby crying woke me right up and I went to dart out of the bed but a hand pushed me back down.

"Relax, I have him."

Turning to see Kane he was sitting up against the headboard a fussy little baby screaming in his arm. Kane rubbed his back and spoke softly. "The wind is making him gassy."

"Oh"

"Go back to sleep, I've got this.”

Slowly I was able to go back to sleep though I really didn't want to. Not well the poor little one was suffering like that.
