Chapter 19 "Mate"

Jake P.O.V.

I was sitting in the classroom. Watching my mate looking beautiful, I couldn't keep my eyes off her. I just found it so breathtakingly beautiful. She didn't have to wear revealing clothes and lots of makeup to cover her true beauty. Then I saw her face, the hurt and the sadness on her face. Someone hurt her. Someone hurt my mate! I started to feel angry and wanted to rip off their heads for making her feel sad and pain in her chest. I could feel her reaction to how she was feeling.

I felt pain and sadness, and emptiness. This beautiful woman shouldn't feel like this. So, to perfect to worry about what people think about her. Once she had her eighteenth birthday, she won't have to worry about anything anymore because Avery Williams would be my queen.

She didn't know yet that she would be my new Luna. You see, I am the new Alpha in the RedBlood pack. I know what you're thinking aren't I supposed to be this evil pack that hurts people? No, not anymore. Well, you see, this pack used to be. But when my father, Jacob Stone, and my Uncle Jack Stone, the Beta, started taking over the Packhouse. We became a powerful pack because we helped others. We still got a bad reputation because it's still called RedBlood Pack.

"Mate!" I heard my wolf Ax say. I looked around and saw her leaving. So, I was getting my thoughts and my stuff packed.

"Hurry! Mate hurt!" My wolf said with a whimper and whine. I listened to my wolf and walked out of the classroom. I started following my beautiful Luna. I was behind her, and I watched her go into the woods. So, I slowly walked behind her. I stood back a little so she didn't know I was following her. I need to know she is okay. Once I see that she is safe, I will walk away and leave her be.

"No!! I need a mate!" Ax's told me. "When if you want our mate. Go see her wolf then". He stopped, and he was thinking.

"That's not a bad idea, Jake! Thanks," He said with a wolfie grin. So, he left my mind and went somewhere with her. I rolled my eyes with a smile. "Lucky bastard," I said under my breath, shook my head, and started following into the dark, creepy woods.

Elijah P.O.V.

"Why did I make her cry? You are an asshole!'' My wolf Axel said. He was angry at me. 'I didn't know why he was so upset. It's not like she is our mate. I am right?' I thought to myself.

"Go ahead and think that, dumbass,'' Axel said with a growl. I rolled my eyes and saw Avery, my little wallflower, run out of the classroom and out the door. I got up with the girl in my arms. I heard her gasp and giggle.

Eww, it's just making me sick. What! Why did I feel disgusted when she spoke? I shouldn't think of her as disgusted. She is an incredibly beautiful girl; she has a body of a model and the brain of a bimbo. Just the way I liked them, beautiful and dumb. But it's getting old. I am bored with them.

I need something new and different. Play hard to get and be an intelligent girl. She would have to be true beauty and not hide her beautiful face with pounds and pounds of makeup. But the face pops been popping into my mind is Avery Williams, my little wallflower. I have been teasing her since I was in middle school. We used to be best friends when we were six years old. So, I started grabbing my stuff.

"You hurt her! Now, my Angelstar doesn't want me!" "She with someone else," Axel whined and whimpered. I heard him crying in the back of my mind. I felt terrible for him because we have a slut wolf-mate with someone else. He can feel them together, and he is heartbroken.

I heard him growl at me.

"Don't you dare! Call her that again. She's not a slut." He told me.

"I am so sorry, Axel. I didn't make whoever wolf mad. Maybe she is just ingoing you."

"No! She is with him right now; he is fucking my mate! I want to kill him!" He said, growling with anger. I heard him crying. Then he blocked me out.

"Axel? Hey, Axel." Nothing. He blocked our minds so that we couldn't talk. So, now I am in my mind on my own. Asshole! He is a big baby. I thought with a roll of my eyes.

I started following Avery, but I smelt someone else—another male wolf. I growled; he better not attack what is mine! I mean, only when I was done with her. Then I didn't care who had her.

I started walking deeper into the woods. But I knew someone was just up ahead of me. But where did he go? Maybe he left and took off when he knew someone was coming. So, I kept walking toward my little wallflower. I needed her to forgive me so I could win.

"E, don't do this! I am begging you." Axel pleaded. Oh, I knew he wanted to talk to me.

"Now, you want to talk to me?" I asked him.

"No, I still don't want to talk to you." But I am warning you, you will regret it!" He said with sadness in his voice.

I chuckled and kept walking and not paying attention when someone attacked me.

"What the fuck!" That was when I fell, and I hit my head. I turned around, and I saw...

Jake P.O.V.

Five minutes later...

I had been following her in the woods. Then I heard something behind me. I went behind a tree, jumped out, and saw who it was, following Avery and me. So, I bent down and ensured whoever it was didn't hear me. So, I waited until they got closer.

Almost there, just a little more, I said in my mind. Gotcha! I jumped on him, and we both fell to the ground; when the person I attacked was Elijah Woods, my best friend.

"Hey, what the fuck, man!' I heard him say. I didn't know if it was him following me or if he was following Avery. I was protecting her. I didn't want someone hurting my mate. He had already hurt her; I whined because of stupid pranks and jokes over the years. I regret it now. I should never tease and bully her. She never did anything to us. So, she dressed and acted differently. So, she had a different group of friends. And so she was not the most popular girl in the school. But I knew she had good friends who would be there for her. I was jealous she had that. I didn't feel well, maybe the guys. They were surprisingly good friends.

"I am a sorry man! But why are you following me? If you need something, I will help you out," I told him.

"No, I am good. I am not following you," He told me. "Why is he following my mate!" I heard Ax's say in my mind. He was not happy.

"Oh, I am just taking a run, and I was going to let out Axel." You know. He said, trying to lie. I knew him. He's lying to me.

"What about you, man!'' He asked me.

Suppose he is not going to tell me. Then I was going to lie back.

"Yeah, me too, Ax is cooped up, and he wants to run," I told him.

He was also not buying it. So, now we were sitting on the ground. But Elijah got off the ground, held his hand, and helped me up.

"Thanks, man," I told him with a chuckle.

"Come on, man. Why are you out here for real?" I asked him a question, and I gave him a confused look. So, he didn't want to say anything at all until I told him.

"Well, if you're going to transfer into your wolf, go ahead." So, I waited and crossed my arms over my chest with a knowing smirk.

I was staring at him, waiting for my best friend to speak.

"Oh, okay, okay, you got me."

"Oh, okay, if you must know! I am here looking for her!" He told me with a relieved expression on his face.

"There, I said it." He took a deep breath. He said.

I wanted to hit him and yell at him to leave her alone.

"Avery, that right?" I asked him. He shook his head and looked down.

"Yes, Did you see where she went?" He asked me. I didn't want him near her. She was mine, My mate, Luna, Girl. But as me being a good guy. I told him we go together to see where we can find her. I hoped she was safe and that she was okay.

"No, but we found her," I told him. So, we started walking together, looking for Avery, my princess, my mate, my love. I can't wait until she knows we are mates. I hope it was quick. I got this weird feeling she would not be mine only.

Five minutes into walking, I heard water. Oh, yes, she liked to go there when we were little kids. I started walking closer when I peeked around the corner; I saw Avery sitting on the big rock with tears running down her cheeks. Damn them! For the hurt, my mate.

I can feel Ax is jumpy and annoyed I won't let him out. I don't want him to get us in trouble with the elders and my father and mother. So, I need to calm down.

"Go to mate, now!" He kept telling me in my head over and over. "Mates need us." He was getting aggressive with me now. He was getting angry.

"Oh, okay, Ax! Calm down. She doesn't know we are mates yet. And I don't want to scare her." I told him in my mind. I started watching her, and I looked over at my side. I saw Elijah staring at her too. Oh, yeah, he was still here. So, I still need to figure out why he was looking for her. So, I asked him.

"Elijah, why did you want with Avery?" I asked him. He didn't say at first, but then he told me.

"Oh, I just need my homework she and I are doing together. That's all." He didn't want to say anymore. So, I didn't ask. I knew he was lying to me. So, this beautiful woman we both starring at. She was sitting there watching the water going over the falls. She was so breathtakingly beautiful that I lost my footing and stepped on a stick, which broke.

"Nice going, Jake!" Elijah said with an annoying attitude.

"Quit shh, she hears us?" I told him with my finger on my mouth. "You're going to scare her off?" I told him. I looked up, and I saw Avery's eyes staring into mine. It was too late; she saw us. That was when she tried to take off the rock. But then I saw she was breathing heavily.

"Mates need us now!" My wolf Ax said with a scared tone.

"Now! Jake." He screamed inside my mind. That was when I saw her waggling and straggling before she was going to fall. But I ran so quickly over towards her. I caught her in my arms. But I was not the only one who had my arms around her. I looked up and saw Elijah, my best friend, arms around my mate. I growled at him.

"Mine!" I told him with my teeth. He looked at me with a confused and weird expression. He didn't want to fight. But I will for her. She is mine, mine! I kept saying in my head.

"Now, Jake calm down," he didn't let go of her. He was staring at her and then at me.

"Let her go. She is my mate," I told him. He was shocked, and then he took a deep breath. He gave her so much space. I calmed down a little, but not much. Well, would you know your mate is in someone else arms?

I felt Avery moving around in our arms, and I heard her moaning in her sleep. I didn't want to be turned on. Because she is moving on my lap, and her butt is wiggling on my crotch. And her head in Elijah's lap. I could see how she made him react when she moved. What the fuck! This was not the first time they had been together. I growled out. He saw I knew they were together. I was angry. My wolf was coming because he knew and wanted to kill Elijah right now.

"You!" I pointed at him in my Alpha voice. He didn't say anything. But he smirked at me.

"What to it! Jake. It's a free country to be whoever I want to be with," He told me.

That fucker! I wanted to kill him. I had gritted my teeth. Hold back for not hurting my best friend.

"Besides, I didn't know she was your mate! Huh. What if she is my mate, huh? What are you going to do then." He told me. I stopped trying to change into my wolf.

"So, wait a minute! You're telling me you're her mate too?" I asked him. He didn't want to say anything until he sighed.

"Yes, but I am fighting it. Because I need a strong Luna. But once I found out it was the loser, wallflower nerd, and weak girl. I could not tell anyone." He said with pain in his eyes because he wanted her but couldn't because of my sister and others.

Especially my sister, she was crazy, she would kill her. I won't let her hurt my mate. I would kill her first before she hurt my Luna. I heard my sweet little mate talking and listened to what she said. I looked down. She was staring into my eyes.

She started coming out of it. Then she saw me and Elijah. She started shaking and breathing again heavily. It took so much out of me. To kiss her and mark her. But I knew she was going to pass out again. Her face was pale, and she had a frightened expression. Yep, I knew it. I was right. She blacked out again.

I sighed. I looked at Elijah, and he was staring down at her head. He was comforting her by moving his fingers in her hair. I grabbed her hand in mine. I started rubbing it back and forth with my fingers.
