Chapter 51 - Hot Heads

I wiped the sweat from my forehead as I joined the group again. Lila held out her water bottle to me and I took it. I drank greedily and then handed it back to her half empty. She sipped it on slowly and flashed me a smile.

The sun was beating down on us. We were all cooking under the bright rays. But it was good and refreshing. Plus, it was better than the freezing cold that we had just gotten away from.

"You've all done great today. I think you all learnt something new out there. But now, to finish off the day, I'd like to get you all sparring with each other. I'll pair you up with someone and then you can all go straight to the rings,” Quo told us. I grinned at Lila who looked straight to Lucas who was smirking mischievously. He wanted to try and kick my butt badly.

"Lucas and Austin," Quo said, beginning to read out the pairs. Lucas groaned and shot me a look. He jutted out his bottom lip and folded his arms. I giggled and poked my tongue out at him playfully.

"Lila and Kerri-Anne," Quo said. Lila waved to me as she walked off with another girl by her side. "Alison and Anthony,” Quo said. He shot me a playful look and that told me he wanted to see me kick Anthony's ass. I wanted to do it badly.

I was beyond happy to get to kick his butt.

"Baby, it's you and me again. I think that it's fate. It's like we're... meant to be together,” Anthony said, coming real close to my ear. I lifted my elbow and hit him in the stomach hard as I walked away and towards the sparring ring.

I couldn't wait to get a piece of this male. He was too arrogant for his own good.

"Ah, Liam, you're back. I'm glad. There's no one to mess with when you're not around,” I heard someone say. I snapped my head in the direction of the voice and saw Liam.

He was talking to Alfie but had his eyes set right on me. I grinned at him and waved. He smiled and I saw his eyes light up.

"You can always annoy Lucas. Give him a taste of his own medicine,” Liam said as he made his way towards me. I diverted my track and went towards him where I threw myself at him and hugged him tightly.

"I missed you!" I squealed as I squeezed him hard. He nuzzled my neck and I felt his lips on my skin. His chest rumbled and I giggled as I hugged him tighter.

"What are you doing right now?" Liam asked me as he pulled away. I rolled my eyes and looked back to the sparring ring. Anthony was standing in it with a friend, talking. He had his eyes on me whilst he spoke.

"I'm supposed to be sparring with Anthony. Quo put us together purposely. I think he wanted to see me beat him up,” I grinned at Liam playfully. He growled and shook his head as he looked back to me again.

I was excited to see him. I just wanted to drag him to a bedroom and shut the door for the rest of the afternoon. I want to kiss him senselessly to tell him how much I really missed him.

His eyes flickered to Anthony and then me as he bent down to kiss me. His lips were unbelievably soft. I hadn't realised how much I had missed his kisses and his lips.

I knew Liam was only kissing me to piss off Anthony, but I didn't care. He was still kissing me and I loved it.

Liam pulled away first and the tingles trailed on my lips. I licked my lips and then smiled sheepishly at Alfie who was approaching us.

"Come on, Ali girl. You've got a fight,” Alfie told me. I nodded at him and turned.

"How about you let me have a go with Anthony?" Liam said as we got to the ring. I raised my eyebrows at him questioningly. What?

"Really?" Alfie questioned. He sounded curious yet excited at the same time. I knew that Alfie would love to see that fight.

"Why not? I haven't kicked anyone's ass in a while. I think it'll be fun," Liam growled out as he shot Anthony a dirty look. Anthony returned the look and Alfie nodded.

"Do you want a piece of him while I'm in there?" Liam mumbled to me before he walked in. I smiled at him and nodded.

"Maybe a tooth or something. Surprise me," I told him. Liam chuckled and kissed my cheek as he walked into the ring. Liam cracked his knuckles and stretched slightly. He began to prepare himself for the fight.

"I can't miss this,” I heard from next to me. I turned my head to see Lucas standing beside me. His was grinning eagerly as he watched his older brother prepare for the fight.

"Mhm, wouldn't want to miss me putting him on his ass in front of his mate,” Anthony growled out in response to Lucas’ comment. Lucas laughed at this and Liam growled.

"Come on man, don't get ahead of yourself," Lucas said. Anthony growled at him and Lucas growled back louder. Anthony shut up.

"Maybe you should get in there too," I nudged Lucas playfully. He chuckled and shook his head at me.

"One day, sister,” Lucas told me. I nodded at him and glanced around.

"Where's Leon?" I asked. Lucas rolled his eyes and sighed. I frowned at his response.

"The moment he saw Cass, he dragged her back to the cabin. We all know what they're doing in there," Lucas hissed out. He didn't sound too happy about it. But I giggled and shook my head Good on them.

I looked back to the fight as it started.

Anthony acted first. He lunged for Liam, but Liam was too quick. I expected Liam to hurt Anthony badly immediately, but Liam stepped to the side and pushed Anthony to the floor.

He was going to mess around with Anthony to make him angry.

I shook my head as I held back my giggles. Anthony pushed himself up off the dirt and lunged for Liam again. Liam socked him hard in the jaw and pushed him back to the ground again.

"Go Liam!" I heard a squeal. I turned my head to see Veronica coming up to the ring. I glared at her before turning away. I would love to fight her whilst Liam fought Anthony.

"Aren't you supposed to support your brother?” Lucas questioned her. She shot both Lucas and I a dirty look and then looked back to the fight.

Lucas chuckled softly and I nudged him in the side. He shut up as Liam pushed Anthony down to the ground again.

"What? Did she make you soft or something? I can tell you for sure that she makes me the opposite,” Anthony said, getting up. I widened my eyes at his comment as both Liam and Lucas growled.

Lucas moved forwards, and I grabbed his arm and pulled him back. It was Liam's fight.

"Can I kill him now?" Liam growled as he looked to me. I shook my head at him. His fists were clenched angrily and I could feel the best rolling off him, feel his blood buzzing with power and his Alpha scratching at his mind. He wanted blood.

"No, you can't,” I told him. Liam grunted and looked back to Anthony.

"How about just a little?” Liam muttered before he punched Anthony.

Liam's fist drove hard into Anthony's stomach. Anthony bellowed over in pain, groaning and Liam took the opportunity. He punched Anthony in the jaw, sending him toppling to the ground again. Liam acted fast. He tackled Anthony to keep him on the ground. They both rolled in the dirt, throwing punch after punch. At this point, they were both yelling profanities at each other. Anthony got Liam in the sternum and kicked him away. The males both got up quickly. Liam was furious by this point and Anthony was at that point when the fight first started. They were both dangerous and the fight definitely should've been stopped.

But no one moved an inch.

"One more comment about my mate and I'll have your fucking head on a stick,” Liam growled out. Anthony brought out his claws and growled.

Liam let his come out and they both went for each other again. Anthony slashed Liam's chest and Liam reacted by grabbing Anthony by the collar of his shirt and punching him hard in the jaw.

I watched a tooth fly from his bloody mouth. Liam threw Anthony to the floor, picked up the tooth and growled as he tossed it to me. Lucas caught it before I could and grinned at me.

"Awesome," he said through a bright smile. He was beyond happy.

"Keep it. You like it more than 1 do,” I told him. Lucas winked at me and then we turned back to the fight.

Anthony spat blood on the ground and got up just as Liam punched him in the nose. I heard a sickening crack as blood squirted from Anthony's nose instantly. Anthony ignored it and punched Liam in the jaw. He punched Liam again and then tried to claw in direction of his throat.

Liam caught Anthony's fist and crushed the bones inside his hand. He cried out and fell backwards, but not before Liam punched him again and sent him toppling down.

Liam jumped for Anthony and began laying blow after blow on the arrogant male. Anthony wasn't fighting back.

"Liam," Alfie said. Liam didn't stop. Anthony's face was covered in blood and he still wasn't fighting back. Liam had knocked him out.

"Liam," Lucas tried a little more sternly. Liam wasn't listening. Lucas nudged me forwards and I rolled my eyes as I walked towards my mate. I was happy and proud that he had won.

Hopefully that would be a good enough signal for Anthony to leave me alone.

I put my hand on Liam's shoulder and squeezed. "Liam, it's time to stop now."

Liam slowly stopped, but he growled deeply at Anthony who was unconscious. I smiled at his bloodied state and his bruises and cuts and broken nose. I hoped he would be in pain when he woke up.

"Sorry," Liam muttered as he got up. He wiped the blood on his fists on his shirt and then offered me a small smile.

"Come on. I'm hungry and Ezra and Jenny said they were making a big breakfast,” I said, slipping my hand into his. Lucas grinned at me and I realised that he was inviting himself over. I didn't mind. "I'm coming. Can't miss their cooking," Lila called out. She jogged over with a fresh bruise on her cheek. She smiled at me as we walked.

"Count me in," Quo said as he joined us in walking away. I glanced back at Anthony who seemed to be gaining consciousness.

Henry and Melissa were running to their son. Melissa looked beyond terrified and worried, whereas Henry had a stone cold expression on his face that screamed hatred.

I squeezed Liam's hand and smiled as I looked away. I hoped that Henry was finally realising that he was keeping Liam locked away in a cage. Liam was ready to come out and he was ready to take back the throne. He just didn't know it yet.
