“So there is no other way to cure Thunder than his father’s blood?” Nathan raised his brows while crossing his arms against his chest and standing near his desk. Xylia nodded, sitting on the chair with a defeated face. 

“And you want me to find him?” His stern face made Xylia nervous. Of course if you talk about your Ex in front of your mate, he will be irate. But Xylia had no intention to talk about him to Nathan. 

“No! I mean lam stuck, Nathan. That’s why I’m here to ask you for some solution. I can only trust you in this. Is there another way of curing Thunder? What if we couldn’t get his help? He didn’t even know about my pregnancy then. What if He denied it, it’s been four years after all.” She said in apprehension. Xylia didn’t even know from where He came and where He had gone that day. 

Nathan stared at her face for a good minute, trying to anticipate her motive. 

“Then we should find some other doctor for Thunder. I don’t know where Hansley arranged this lady Doctor. I 

will ask Karen to….” 

“No, Nathan. Dr Regina is best in her field. We don’t need any other doctor but a solution.” She immediately interrupted him. 

“How do you know she is the best? You hadn’t met her before. And What if the reports are mistaken.” He gave her a look before taking a seat beside her on the desk chair and turning towards her. 

“Because no doctor could diagnose this before but they had a vague idea that Thunder has some kind of disease in his blood which only she managed to find out. Besides, Hansley told me she had long term experiences in her list. So she is an expert in supernatural situations.” Xylia said smoothly. He hummed. 

“Still I would insist we take assurance from at least one other pack doctor, Lia. Or you want me to find your.. Ex? You know I will do anything for you! Just tell me who he was, Lia. There is nothing which I cannot do, trust me.” He stated, holding her hand. 

‘You can do anything but not cross him, Nathan. He is The Lycan King after all.

Xylia sighed. She looked into his eyes pondering over it. Telling him about Theodore means revealing her old Identity which could endanger not only her life but everyone’s around her. 

And she doubts whether Theodore had done her background investigation yet. Even though Nathan hid it well

Xylia was conflicted about whether to directly approach Theodore and ask his help or tell Nathan the whole story and let him handle the situation. He had always helped her, maybe this time he could give her a better 

solution. 

“Tell me Lia, just tell me the name and leave everything on me. We will cure Thunder as soon as possible so he could happily live his life!” He nodded at her with a soft gaze. Just like always, he tried to coax her. 

Xylia bit her lip, she opened her mouth but suddenly her heart thudded fast as she felt her body sensing something. Something was going to happen. 

“Lia…” Nathan cupped her cheek lovingly and she blinked her eyes a few times to clear her mind. 

“Nathan, He is…” 

“Alpha, Our investors have arrived. We need your presence.” Karen, his beta, informed him through a mind link, interrupting their talk. Nathan clenched his jaws and snapped at his beta, “Isn’t the meeting scheduled at two? Why have they arrived early?” 

“I..I don’t know, Alpha. I Am clueless about this too. I apologise to inform you that they are not some random people. Please come and see..” Karen said before closing the mind link and catching Nathan off–guard. 

His beta never behaved like this before. What are these people? Nathan groaned but he composed himself and smiled at Xylia. 

“We need to go, our clients are here! I guess you have to prepone the meeting!” He instructed her before 

standing up. 

“Already? But they are about to come…

“Yeah yeah! Some royal people don’t listen to anyone. I don’t know why my father proposed this deal to them! Let’s go!” Nathan said, wearing his blazer and walking to the door. 

“But I haven’t prepared anything. We need to call the other members as well.” She hurried after him, taking her 

purse. 

“Karen will handle it, you just arrange the meeting room for the presentation.” He ordered her. And they both headed towards the empty meeting room and set up the table. Nathan called his other members responsible for

“Karen send them in!” Nathan ordered his beta cum secretary.

She pulled the pen drive and notebook out of her purse when the atmosphere turned stiff around the room walls and a particular masculine earthy scent hit her nostrils. Her eyes widened.

She swallowed as the door opened by Karen and two men entered the meeting hall. “What a pleasant surprise you have given us, Mr Lockheed. If I knew you would be coming, I could have arranged a warm welcome. Now I see, That’s why my father planned this meeting early. Nice to meet you in person, King” Nathan greeted him with a slight bow before guiding them to the chairs around the table. 

“Then the surprise might be from your father, Alpha Nathan. My surprise was meant for someone else.” Theodore Lockheed smiled, his regal aura forced everyone to step back, giving him space as He walked further. His eyes were looking at Xylia’s stiff back whose heart constricted, thinking of his wicked planning. Why was He here? Is this the meaning of his warning? 

That time she recalled Sarah’s words, how He traps his enemies before drowning them into the complete downfall. That’s why He is known as the dangerous Lycan king. 

He doesn’t invite before playing his game. That man is too sly for his own good. 

And Xylia realised He had already started his game regarding her. He entangled Elrods into his revenge plan. This thought put her on the edge of stress. 

Nathan blinked at his comment. He turned to Xylia and called her. “Lia, meet our partner in the newly launched partnership firm that Dad proposed recently. He is qu 

Lycan king, Theodore Lockheed.” 

Xylia wiped the sweat from her neck which was burning from Theodore’s intense gaze on her skin. He was boring his silver stone eyes into her sharply. Slowly she stood up, turning towards them. 

‘No Xylia, you can’t afford to be cowards. Face it, face him. For Theodore. She forced herself to calm down.

Nodding at herself, Xylia walked in front of them, her eyes glanced at Denzer for a second before they settled on the Lycan King, her husband. Xylia knew she had to get herself together and become professional in front of others. She didn’t know why He was here but she had to wait to know this until she managed to talk to him privately. 

“Pleasure to meet you, Mr Lockheed.” She offered her hand to shake with a confident look. Theodore tilted his head at her and smirked before holding her small hand into his large one creating a sensual spark in between 

them. 

Xylia parted her lips and her throat turned dry at the skin’s touch. She jumped in her place, she never felt like this before when she was with him. She didn’t have the knowledge that it was her mate’s touch, nothing else. 

Xylia’s questioning eyes turned to him before she snatched her hand out of his hold. He smiled before stepping near her and asking her loudly, 

“Have you felt it too, Miss Cortez?”
