Chapter 13 

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

My attention suddenly shifted to Dominic when he spoke. He was about to look in the direction I was gazing at, but I stopped him. 

“Oh, nothing! I was just admiring the surroundings. I noticed there have been some changes. Like that sculpture over there, it’s clearly a new design the owner acquired.” 

I made sure to point out something far from Damon’s location so he wouldn’t notice. 

He was lucky he had his back to the entrance because if he was seated in my place, he might not have hesitated to get up and confront Damon, especially after what he had just found out earlier in my office. 

“Oh, you’re right. That does seem new. Hmm, if I were to guess, that sculpture probably costs around half a million or more?” 

I breathed a sigh of relief as Dominic’s attention was now fully on what I was pointing earlier. I quickly glanced at Damon’s table and saw that they were seated with the woman a bit farther from our position, yet I could still see him clearly. 

I couldn’t help but clench my fist. He wasn’t looking at me now, but his arrogance was practically radiating to where I was sitting. In the many years that Dominic and I had been dining here, I had never once seen him eat here. Is he following me?! 

“Anyway, darling, how’s managing the company? Is it easy? Or are you having a hard time with the investors? Remember what I told you, you should know how to choose who can be a stockholder, someone who’s capable and skilled in business.”

I immediately shifted my attention to Dominic and smiled at him, pretending that Damon wasn’t there. “It’s okay. And I’m following all your advice. In fact, there has been a lot of interest in my cosmetic line, especially since I got a famous model to endorse my brand.” 

He nodded, “I’ve seen that, but I thought of something, and I’m not sure if you’ll agree…” he said with a teasing tone, and I couldn’t resist pinching his hand. 

“Ouch! That hurts!” 

“Just tell me already,” I rolled my eyes but couldn’t help but smile at him. 

He took a deep breath and winked at me, “What if you became a model for your own brand? I mean, think about it. You’re beautiful, S*xy, tall, and honestly, you could

probably pass as a supermodel. But I won’t agree on that. I don’t want you to become famous and have more competition in my case.” 

I burst into laughter at what he said. His possessive nature when it came to me couldn’t. be denied. He knew no one could take me away from him because I already belong to him. 

“But, is that a good idea? I mean, I’m not really famous-” 

“That would be a good idea, trust me. Your brand is already. famous, and you’ve gained recognition from wealthy people all over the world since I introduced you. If you seize this opportunity, they’ll get to know you better, and little by little, you’ll make it to the top. 

He raised an eyebrow, and I couldn’t help but ponder his words deeply. After a moment, I nodded, “Alright, I’ll give it a try. But I need to gather some courage first because I’m not that experienced in striking poses in front of a camera.” 

“You can do it, darling. I’m here to support you.” 

He suddenly took my hand and k*ssed the back of my palm, his eyes sparkling like stars. I couldn’t help but feel a rush of affection for him every time he showed this side of himself to me. 

I am so lucky to have Dominic, and I’m not sure what more I could wish for because he already gives me everything. 

Our conversation continued, but my attention suddenly shifted to Damon’s location for 

an unknown reason. 

I caught him talking to the woman he was with. He seemed interested as the woman spoke. I couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow because I remembered his accusations earlier, blaming me for being the one who initiated of having an affair first. And now, I see him with another woman? 

The audacity of this man. 

I never saw him behave like this when we were together. He was always cold, distant, and sometimes even pushed me away when we were seen together by his family. And now he can be this sweet, but not to me. 

But what do I care? It’s his life. He can do whatever he wants as long as I’m happy with my life. He’s the only pest who keeps following me. 

“Right, dear?” 

I blinked and immediately turned my attention to Dominic. I was suddenly

embarrassed because he was talking this whole time and then I was not listening to him because my attention was diverted in another direction. 

“S–sorry, what was that again? I’m a little hungry so I lost. 

my focus.” 

He frowned and raised his eyebrows, “Oh, are you hungry? You want me to follow up with the waiters on our order?” 

I shook my head, “No, it’s okay. Just continue what you’re saying” 

“Are you sure?” 

I nodded, “Yes.” 

“Well, all I was talking about earlier was how we can grow your company. I’ve said a lot and one of them is to find your own photographer, who should be a woman mind you.” 

I laughed and gave him a thumbs up. He will never lose his possessiveness. It didn’t take long for what we ordered finally arrived. The waiters immediately served it to our table. As the waiter put down our food, I couldn’t help but look at Damon’s location again. 

– I saw that the waiter had already prepared their food. My eyes narrowed as Damon took 

the spoon and fork and placed them on his woman’s plate. And that’s not all, when all the food was put down, he even served her with the dishes, Wow, huh? I didn’t know that he had chivalry in his system. 

“Honey?” 

“Huh?” 

My attention returned to Dominic when he called me. This time he frowned, apparently, he was waiting for something from me. 

“The food is here, where are you looking at? You’re usually the one who puts the dish on my plate.” 

I can’t help but feel bad in my thoughts because my brain has been occupied. My eyes. fell on him and I immediately served him. 

“I’m sorry, I’m just really tired today.” 

He stopped and suddenly his eyes softened at me. I was surprised when he put the back of his palm on my forehead and felt it. 

“You’re not sick but to make sure we go home early today so you can rest properly, okay? Do you want that?”

“It’s okay if you think I might sulk. No, don’t worry. Your health is my priority, okay?” 

I can’t help but feel guilty because I’m ruining the time that should be dedicated to him but my attention is everywhere. 

I took a deep breath and just nodded. Maybe he’s right, I just need to rest because what happened earlier is still fresh in my mind. 

We ate and even though the atmosphere at our table wasn’t good earlier, Dominic still insisted on starting when we could talk just so our atmosphere wouldn’t look dead. 

“I’m sorry, love. I’ll make it up to you tonight.” 

“Well, that depends if you can handle what I want tonight.” He winked at me and then his playful behavior returned. 

I couldn’t help but tickle him but in a playful way. He smiled and took my hand and caressed it. We continued to eat while holding hands. 

After a while, he let go of my hand when his cellphone suddenly vibrated. He looked at who texted and immediately ignored it because his rule is that when we are together, if the message is not important, he will leave it. But, later it vibrated several times and he answered in annoyance. 

“What? I’m with my girlfriend. What do you need?” he said with a hostile tone. 

I took the glass of water from the table and drank it. Suddenly something caught my 

eye. 

From where I was, Damon’s head was slightly bent, apparently, he was picking something up from under the table that had fallen to the floor. And that’s what you’ll notice at first glance. 

But, watching it was debilitating and stomach–turning when I realized that Damon’s hand was instead moving over the woman’s thigh. It will not be noticed immediately because their place is quite hidden. 

I didn’t realize that my hand was clenched on the glass and the next thing that happened cause me to suddenly spilled my drink. 

Because he suddenly inserted his finger inside the woman’s groin. 

“Shit! What happened?! Are you okay?” 

Dominic immediately panicked and moved to my place to caressed my back. I coughed. and I could hardly breathe because of what happened that took me by surprise.. 

Many people suddenly glanced at me my way, and I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed. 

Chapter 13 

“I–i’m fine, excuse me.” 

I stood up and was about to leave when Dominic stopped me by my wrist, “Where are you going?” 

“To the bathroom.” I said. “I–i’m sorry–1–i just need to be alone for a while.” 

Before he could say anything. I pulled my hand away and ran towards the restaurant’s bathroom. Once alone, I locked the doors, and my heart couldn’t stop pounding so loud. 

What’s going on with me? Why did I react like this? 

I shake my head multiple times. I took a deep breath and then tried to compose myself. I closed my eyes and shook away what I saw and what my heart was doing with my emotions. 

“Don’t waste your energy on that man, okay?” I whispered to myself before finally going 

out. 

I opened the door and was about to make my way towards our table when suddenly someone pulled me towards the back of the hallway and pinned me against the wall, startling me. 

“Going somewhere?”
