Chapter 12 

Please…stop! He’s torturing me! 

I tried to resist because I wouldn’t allow anything to happen between us in my office! I shook my head to remove his hand covering my mouth, but he didn’t relent. Instead, he pressed himself against me because my panties were exposed, and he whispered in 

my ear. 

“I know you want this, Serena. Don’t resist anymore. We used to do this normally, right? Why are you resisting now? Huh?” 

I closed my eyes tightly because memories of our past suddenly resurfaced in my mind. Back then, I thought I was happy because he was by my side. I thought everything would be fine because we had two children. But it turns out, all of that was just a wrong assumption. 

Because of the timing of my twins‘ birth, that’s when the true colors of his family were revealed. The struggles I endured during my pregnancy with them were mild. compared to what I went through after it. When I gave birth, they were ready to cut my life short just to increase the Blackwood empire’s family count. 

And what’s even more painful is that Damon did nothing back then. 

“And if we look at it, Serena, you’re the one who ran away. You’re the one who left the family to find another man to use. So don’t be surprised if my family has strong feelings of wrath against you because it’s all your fault.” 

His words felt like a splash of cold water. I slowly turned to him, and I could clearly see the lack of mercy in his eyes. I clenched the fist he was holding. 

How dare he… 

He smiled as our eyes met. “What? There’s nothing more you can do, Serena. It was a big mistake for you to show up in front of my family at the Gala.” 

I couldn’t hold back any longer. I summoned all my strength to push him as hard as I could. Damon seemed surprised by what I did, and he stepped back. I took this opportunity to sit properly and glare at him. 

“I showed up at the Gala because I’m fed up with hiding from your damn family, Damon! In the years I lived under your family’s shadow, not once did I feel accepted by your wretched family! How dare you tell me that it’s all my fault? After everything I’ve been through with you?!” 

I lost the composure I was trying to maintain. I exploded with anger because he had crossed the line. He had pushed my patience to the limit. I could feel tears welling up,

but that’s the last thing I wanted. Crying in front of the person who made my life difficult. 

I took a deep breath and straightened my b*dy. Instead of walking away from the edge of the table, I crossed my legs and stared at him with emotionless eyes. 

“Leave my company before I change my mind, Damon. I reject your sister’s proposal to become an investor in my business. Your family is wealthy, right? She can probably create her own company.” 

A deafening silence hung between us. I didn’t back down from our staring contest. I had enough with everything he had done to me. He actually had the audacity to step in here and tell me that I’m incapable? His brain must be in his feet. 

The office door suddenly opened, and Cecilia arrived with the head of my security team. It felt like a thorn had been pulled from my chest. Why did it take her so long?! 

“Guard! Get him ou 

of here!” 

Cecilia pointed at Damon, and my security team immediately moved to approach him. However, before they could reach Damon, he spoke with a tone full of threats. 

Just try to touch me, and you’ll see yourselves behind bars.” 

My guards immediately froze in place due to the chilling depth of his voice. I straightened my posture and left the table before they could speculate about what happened between us. 

I marched up to Damon, my finger pointed straight at him like a weapon. “You have five seconds to get out of here,” I growled. “Don’t even think about coming back.” 

Instead of yielding, his eyes gleamed with determination. After a moment, he smiled and inclined his head slightly to level our faces. 

“Our paths don’t end here, Serena. I will find a way, again and again, to have you back.” 

And in an instant, he turned and headed out of my office, with my guards following him. Once he was completely gone, I couldn’t help but take a deep breath and clench my fists. What did he mean by those last words he uttered?! 

“Ma’am-” 

“What?!” 

Cecilia jerked at my shout, and even I was surprised by it. I closed my eyes tightly and composed myself. “I’m sorry, I’m just tired with what happened. What is it?” 

“Who was that, Ma’am? He’s handsome and clearly looks wealthy. Is he single?”

I thought he had something important to say. But it turned out he just wanted to praise that audacious man in front of me. I gave Cecilia a disapproving look and instructed her to fix the mess that guy had caused. Cecilia immediately followed my orders, and I sat down in my swivel chair, beginning my work.. 

However, throughout the hour I spent reading documents and trying to concentrate, I couldn’t get Damon’s scandalous behavior out of my mind. I could still feel his b*dy pressed against mine. Hot, hard, and alive. I closed my eyes tightly and shook my head. several times to dispel the thoughts. 

I shouldn’t be thinking about him! And I definitely shouldn’t dwell on the words he left me with! He said he’d do anything to get me back? Even if it’s just the two of us left in the world, I still wouldn’t choose to go back to him! 

“Ma’am, your boyfriend is here.” 

I suddenly snapped back to reality when Dominic arrived. I breathed a sigh of relief because, in some way, it helped to push Damon out of my mind for a while. 

However, when I glanced at the clock, I was surprised to see that it was still early. Normally, he picks me up around noon. 

“Hey, you’re carly. Weren’t you supposed to pick me up later-” 

“Was Damon here earlier?” 

Before I could finish my sentence, he immediately cut me off. His question was straightforward, and I could see the anger and frustration in his eyes as he awaited my response. I fell silent for a few moments before taking a deep breath and explaining what had happened earlier. 

“But it’s alright, I handled it-” 

“Alright? There’s nothing alright about what he did! He almost crossed the line with you!” 

I should have known he will react like this. I don’t know how he found out, but I won’t be surprised, considering many people saw what happened earlier, including my security team and my secretary. It’s not far–fetched to think that Cecilia might have shared the incident with others. 

“Dominic, just calm down. I didn’t let him get to me, alright? I pushed him away. I did everything to get rid of him here.” 

Dominic shook his head, “But we need to-” 

“I said it’s okay and let it go. I thought we weren’t going to show any weakness to our

opponent? Why are you acting like this? Please, if you do anything more, it might just make things worse. Let’s show him that we’re not too affected.” 

Dominic remained silent for a few minutes, gazing at me. After a while, he took a deep breath and nodded. He reached for my hand and k*ssed the back of my palm, then pulled me into an embrace. 

“I’m 

sorry, I just panicked. You know I don’t want you to be in danger, right?” 

“I understand, Dominic. I appreciate that you care about me and don’t want me in harm’s way,” I replied with a reassuring smile, feeling comforted by his embrace. 

He k*ssed my forehead and patiently waited for me to finish all my work in the office before we decided to leave. He opened the car door for me, and I couldn’t help but feel a rush of affection for him due to his gentlemanly behavior. 

As usual, he took me to our favorite restaurant. The place had a minimalist and clean aesthetic, but I loved the food here. Despite many changes in me, I still preferred simple choices in some aspects of my life. 

The car stopped, and he helped me get out. We walked together towards the Fine Elegancy Restaurant. He held the door open for me, and as soon as the waiter saw us, he guided us to our favorite spot in the restaurant. 

The staff here already knows us because we dine here frequently. As soon as we were seated, our personal waiter approached us. 

“The usual, Sir?” he asked with a smile. 

“You know what my future wifey wants,” he replied, winking at me, and I just smiled. 

The waiter left, and Dominic glanced at the menu, probably checking for any new items. I, on the other hand, looked around, admiring the beauty of the place. 

“They have a new dish? Pasta, I see,” Dominic said. 

“Let me see.” 

Dominic handed me the menu, and I looked at the items. I nodded and said, “Let’s 

order it next time.” 

“Anything for you.” 

I smiled and was about to give the menu back to him when someone entered the restaurant. Since our table was not far from the entrance, I clearly saw who it was.

widened, and I almost dropped the menu when I saw Damon, accompanied by another woman, enter the restaurant. My heart started racing as he slowly scanned the
