Chapter 43

LOGAN

“You seem worried. Is there anything that you want to talk about” Raymond asked.

I called an hour ago, asking that he come to my house as I wanted to speak to him. I had so much to say to him.

After leaving Isabel’s place yesterday, I haven’t been able to sleep. I haven’t been myself. I saw the pain through her eyes and how she was yer to heal from the pain I inflicted her on.

I hated myself for that. I, Logan Smith had bowed under the moon and the stars to be by her side. To make her happy and to be with her while protecting her but I broke her heart. I hurt her and broke her and it’s all my fault that she’s yet to heal.

I will never forgive myself for what it was that I did to her. I didn’t sleep the whole night and couldn’t go to work today because I was feeling bad for what I had done.

I decided to speak to someone and Raymond seemed to be that person to speak to. I just wanted to let him know what it is I found out and how to get her back. I want Isabel back and I’d do anything to have her.

“I saw thenr, I said to him.

“Then? And by that what are you referring to?”1 questioned.

“I saw the twins. I saw my children Emma and Ethan.” I explained.

“Your children? I’m confused. You mean they are yours?” He asked frantically.

I nodded my head. “Yes. They are mine.”

“What? You mean you saw them? She let you see them and are they yours?” Raymond asked.

“Yes. I went to get a strand of hair for the test as planned but I ended up not having to. Isabel wasn’t home when I got there and I somehow got to see the twins. The girl looked just like Isabel and the boy looked just like me. The minute I saw hi knew I didn’t have to do any tests. He

was my complete version in a younger form. He looked just like me.” I answered

“Oh, my goodness. I am following what it is that you are saying but at the same time, I have a little question to ask. Can please explain once again but in a way I’d be able to understand He asked.

“You were right. Four years ago Isabel was pregnant and she was pregnant for me. She wanted to tell me about it the night 1 had jilted her to marry Jade but I didn’t allow her. She was pregnant with me and she had twins. Emma and Ethan are the names of the kids. While the girl looks like her, the boy looks like me.” I started.

“I would have gone for a test if it was just the girl but after seeing the boy, I knew that I didn’t have to.” I continued.

“You mean you are the father of her kids? Wow. That’s good news” Raymond sounded excited.

“It is good news,” I remarked.

“Then why does it seem like you are disturbed or am I confusing your emotions with something else?” Raymond asked.

I am disturbed,” I answered.

“Disturbed? Do you want to let me know what inquired.

t is that you are disturbed?” |

I heaved a deep sigh. “I don’t even know how to explain it but it hurts so much that I had brought so much pain to Isabel. I hate my life. I hurt her and she’s yet to move on from that.”

“What happened? I thought you had gotten past that stage?”

“I also wished for so but it doesn’t seem to be easy for her. Last rght, I saw just how hurt she was and how she was yet to heal from the heartbreak. 1 feel so guilty for what 1 had done to her and for that reason, she doesn’t want me close and would consider if she wants me close or not after all she is the twins mother and I had deprived her of telling me about them.” I explained.

1 heard Raymond sigh. “I honestly don’t know what to say. She’s angry. That’s justified. So what will you do?“

“That’s why I called for you. I need your help in knowing what to do. I want to make things right. I want to bond with her once again. I want to have her in my life once again. You of all people know how much I’ve missed her. You know how badly I want her. You know how crazy it drove me to not know where she was and now that I am close to her, I cannot leave her.”

“If you

ou want her then go get her. She might not want you close and that’s what you’d do but that’s because you are giving her space and not leaving her. Give her space. One week, two weeks or even a month then go back. If you want to have her then go have her. Don’t let anyone stop you.”

“Thanks so much,” I said.

I suddenly felt a little weight off my shoulder. It would be hard having to avoid her but I will do it. I will give her as much as she wants and later do the needful.

The next few days, I tried my best to stay away and not go look for Isabel. Even the business I had with Leah, her agent, I sent someone in my place. I wanted her to know that I care about her and that what she wants matters to me.

I wanted her to know that I cared about her and that I wanted to work things out with her. It wasn’t easy. I felt drained and it hurt to avoid her when I wanted to go and see her.

The day went by slowly and torturing and it made me weak a lot of times, I decided I’d give her two weeks of space and afterwards, I’d go look for her. I wanted to make it a week but it wouldn’t show much difference and she might think I didn’t respect her wish.

Soon, a week came and went by, and soon two weeks came. I wanted to go see her. I’ve missed her so much that not a day went by and I didn’t dream of her.

I thought of my kids every day and how they might be. Today marked the second week and the commencement of a week. I wanted to see her and that’s what I should do but I decided against it.

“You have made the right decision. You should just extend it to a month.” Raymond suggested.

*Exactly what I feel. If I try to see her now, she might get angry but after a Monday, it would make it easy to get through her I don’t even know what to do but I just want all of my effort to turn out well. I want to be happy and be with her once again.”

“You know how much I’ve yearned for her and without knowing about the kids, I’ve only wanted to make a family with her.”

“You have been saying that but what about Jade? Let’s talk about it. What about Jade? What will you do about it? Do you know that being married to her doesn’t give you the right to be with another and that’s going to create another chaos?” Kaymond stated.

Jade has always been the problem. The biggest mistake I made was marrying her. She has refused to divorce me although I had treated her in the worst possible ways to make her.

It was just so hard to break up with her. I don’t want her yet she seems to fantasize over me. She doesn’t want to let me go. It’s driving me imane. No matter how hard I tried not to remember her, one person or one way I’d remember her and now remembering I’m married to her disgust me.

She’s the reason I’m at this point in my life.

“What will you do about Jadę?” Raymond asked.

“You know I’ve tried to get her to divorce me but she doesn’t want to leave me. It’s like she’s obsessed with me. I don’t even know what to say at this point. Isabel wouldn’t want to come back as long as Jade is in the picture and because of that, I have to end what I have with Jade.”

“She wouldn’t divorce then force her to.” Raymond suggested.

“By forcing her, what do you mean?”

“You use fire to deal with fire and since she’s proving to be stubborn then you’d have to show her that you can be just as she is and that’s very simple.”

I creased my brows. “What do you mean?”

“What I mean is, we can make this easy. She used a devious means to get you married to her and for that, you’d use a devious means to get her to divorce you.” Raymond said

“Can you explain in a term I’d understand better?” I asked.

“What I mean is, you will have to use someone close to her against her or use something dear to her to get her to divorce you. You have to use force or you won’t be free from her.” Raymond explained.

“And what is it that you both are talking about? Mind if I join in A familiar feminine voice spoke.

It was Jade and she came with a happy face.
