" What happened?" Mr T asked as he came in with Emily and the Elders in tow.

I saw the warriors also come in along with some teachers.

" Please. Please just help him." Rose croaked while hugging Bryan's unconscious body.

The nurse shook her head.

" There's nothing I can do. I'm sorry."

" Elder Moira?" Rose asked hopefully.

Elder Moira shook her head too.

" My powers can't do anything. You need something much stronger."

Rode stood up, her jeans soaked with Bryan's blood. She grabbed Shirley's hand and dragged her to where Bryan laid.

" Shirley, you can fix him. Elder Moira said he needs something stronger than her powers!, You're a magician! Your powers are stronger. You can do it right?!, Right?!" She said frantically.

Rose was falling apart and everyone could see it. Shirley sighed and touched Bryan's forehead then she shook her head.

" I'm sorry Rose."

" What?!, Why are you sorry?, You can fix him."

" I can't."

" What-"

" He's too far gone. My magic isn't strong enough to bring him back." Shirley said stepping back.

" No!" Rose screamed moving towards his body.

" Rose he's gone." I said pulling her back tears falling from my eyes.

" He can't…he can't be. He- No!"

She cried onto my shirt and I held her tightly to my chest crying.

My best friend was dead.

Iris's POV.

It seemed like the whole school had heard about the accident before I did.

" What happened?" I asked as I entered the arena.

The crowd parted to reveal the unconscious body of Bryan. I winced as I saw the akward angle his leg was bent.

I saw my Rose crying on Cole's shoulder and I cringed.

I was about to approach them when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

" There's nothing you can do. He's too far gone." Elder Eamon said.

I looked at Rose then back at him and brushed his hand off. When Rose saw me she approached me and held my hands with her bloody ones.

Her eyes were red and glazed with tears and the desperation in her voice made my heart break a little.

Yes, I have a heart.

" Please." She pleaded.

" I know you can help him. You have the power to, I know you can."

I squeezed her hand reassuringly and walked over to his body.

" Iris." Elder Yvonne warned but I ignored her.

I touched Bryan's forehead and smiled.

He was fighting so hard to stay alive.

For Rose.

They were right.

He was too far gone for magic to fix. But I had a trick up my sleeve.

It was dangerous for him. And also for me.

But I was willing to risk it.

I touched his forehead and felt it flow.

Cole's POV.

Iris touched his forehead and an aura enveloped her. It wasn't the deep purple we saw whenever she healed. This aura was golden.

I heard the Elders gasp but I couldn't look away from Iris.

She wasn't calm like the other times she healed. This time, she looked like she was in pain. Like she could feel what he felt.

She staggered back, I was about to help her when she snapped her fingers and a chair appeared and she sat on it.

I heard someone take a deep breath and turned to see Bryan sitting up and breathing heavily.

" What happened?" He asked. He was clearly confused as to why he sat in a pool of blood and also why the entire school was staring at him.

" Bryan!" Rose exclaimed as she hugged him tightly. She turned to Iris and said,

" Thank you."

Iris nodded in response. She looked like she wanted to say something but the words didn't come out. Her eyes kept closing but she forced them open.

I heard the sound of a palm hitting a cheek and turned to Rose and Bryan.

Bryan was rubbing the cheek that Rose had slapped.

" Don't you ever do that to me again!"

Bryan nodded frantically and she hugged him again and he held her tightly.

Iris stood up from the chair and smiled.

Then she fell and blacked out.

Whenever Iris fell unconscious after healing it usually took her about 2 hours before she woke up. It's been close to 6 hours and she still hadn't stirred.

" Bryan, you should get some rest." Seb said voicing what we had all been thinking.

" No. I'm fine. She saved my life, I want to make sure she's okay."

" You should leave." Elder Nimah said.

" For the last time Elder Nimah we are not going anywhere." Mr T stated.

" Oh for crying out loud, would you just go!, You both have a school to run." Elder Moira said pointing to Mr T and Emily. She turned to us and spoke.

" And you have training and classes. It's been 6 hours and she hasn't woken up."

" But what if she does?" I asked and she sighed.

" Then we'll send for you."

We sighed as we made our way out of the clinic.

I was about to open the door when we heard voices. Mr T motioned for me to stop and we leaned closer.

" You have it don't you?" Elder Yvonne asked.

" I just got it." I heard Iris reply.

" Don't lie to us Iris." Elder Horace stated.

" We know about the necklace." Elder Emlyn said.

" How did you know?"

" That's not the point. You not only didn't tell us, but you're also using it!" Elder Horace yelled.

" Horace calm down. Iris we're just worried about you. The darkness is growing." Elder Nimah said.

" Don't you think I know that?!" Iris yelled.

I looked at Rose and she sighed.

There was some shuffling in the room and I heard Elder Moira sigh.

" Iris, you need to rest."

" Iris don't, you need it. It will help you regain your energy."

" I'll manage." Iris replied.

She walked out of the room, then she looked at us before walking out of the clinic.

We walked into the room and saw the Elders already seated.

" How much did you hear?" Elder Emlyn asked.

" A lot." Mr T replied.

Iris's POV.

The nurse came in to check on my vitals once I woke up. I was expecting the Elders to yell at me but they didn't.

' It's probably cause the nurse is still here.' I thought.

" Go get Travis." Elder Yvonne said and the nurse left the room.

The room was quiet for about 10 minutes and I stared at the ceiling.

" He could have been bound to you. You know." Elder Emlyn mused.

" Yes, I know." I replied.

" But yet you still did it."

" It was a risk I was willing to take."

" A risk you were willing to take?" Elder Eamon asked raising his voice.

" I did it for my best friend."

" You have it don't you." Elder Yvonne asked.

" I just got it." I lied.

" Don't lie to us Iris." Elder Horace stated.

" We know about the necklace."

" How did you know?" I asked.

The only person who knew was Jenny, but Rose and Cole saw it.

" That's not the point. You not only didn't tell us but you're also using it!" Elder Horace yelled.

" Horace calm down . Iris we're just worried about you. The darkness is growing." Elder Nimah said and I finally snapped.

" Don't you think I know that?!"

I was weak. And I knew it yet I still tried to stand up.

" Iris, you need rest." Elder Moira sighed.

I ripped the needle and the IV tube off.

" Iris don't, you need it. It will help you regain your energy."

" I'll manage." I replied.

I opened the door of the room and walked out. I saw my friends, my boyfriend, Mr T and Emily standing by the door where they had been listening to our conversation and I walked off.
