Chapter 26

The servant thought he had misheard. And he took a moment to digest before answering Sigmund’s question.

“Ms. Wood moved out this morning,” the servant replied.

After hearing that, Sigmund’s gaze suddenly sharpened. Then he asked, “Did she move out?”

The servant was startled by Sigmund’s cold tone. He thought to himself, “Didn’t Ms. Wood move out because they were divorced?

“It should have been obvious. Why was Mr. Moolery so surprised?”

Then the servant replied honestly, “Mr. Moolery, Ms. Wood said she divorced you. And she said. there’s no reason for her to continue living here. So she packed up and left early this morning.”

The servant’s words ignited Sigmund’s anger. And Sigmund tightly clenched his fist, hanging by his

side.

His habitual cold demeanor now appeared even colder and more dangerous.

Under pressure, the servant stood there. He didn’t dare to take a breath.

Then Sigmund sneered.

And he thought to himself, “Well. Good job, Becky. You dared to leave just like that without even saying goodbye to me. You sure have some nerve!”

Sigmund looked at the cowering servant beside him. And then he suddenly remembered the previous encounters with Becky.

She was always afraid of him, as if he could devour her. But in an instant, she would smile and flirt with other men.

Then Sigmund thought to himself, “Was she in a hurry to move out so she could meet other ment more freely?”

Just the thought of it intensified Sigmund’s restlessness.

Then he told the servant, “Do whatever you need to do. Stop standing here.”

With that unexpected remark, the servant felt relieved and quickly left the troubled scene.

Sigmund stood at the doorway for a while without any other action. At that moment, he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket.

His eyes grew colder as he looked at the name on the screen. And then he was about to hang up.

It was Sabrina

Chapter 26

There was no need for Sigmund to think. The reason why Sabrina called was surely about the Wood family’s mess.

Staring at the icy room, Sigmund reluctantly answered the call.

Before Sigmund could even speak, he heard a cheerful female voice on the other end.

“Sigmund, it’s been a while since you and Becky came home for dinner, right? How about finding some time for both of you to come back together? It would be great for our families to stay together and have a chat.”

Listening to Sabrina’s words, Sigmund realized she did not know about their divorce.

Then Sigmund stood at the doorway, looking at the half–empty room.

As Sabrina thought the matter might be in jeopardy due to Sigmund’s silence, she was about to say something else. At that moment, Sigmund suddenly spoke up.

He said, “I got it. We’ll come.“.

After hearing Sigmund’s words, Sabrina took a while to react. Then she became ecstatic and replied, “Oh, great! We’ll be waiting for you at home. You must come together.”

After saying that, Sabrina didn’t care whether Sigmund hung up or not. And then she happily winked at her daughter.

By not refusing the invitation, it indicated that Sigmund did have some feelings for Becky.

After ending the call, Sigmund found Becky’s number in his contacts. And then he dialed it directly.

However, he only got a message indicating that the other party was currently busy.

After a few attempts, Sigmund finally realized what had happened.

Becky had most likely blocked his number.

With a stern face, Sigmund grabbed his car keys and headed outside.

Then he made his way to the entrance of Gereshk. Sigmund also owned property there. So he quickly gained access.

Sigmund was familiar with the route, so he arrived at the front of the house with ease. In addition. to a key, there was also a keypad lock at the entrance.

Although Sigmund hadn’t been there before, he instinctively entered his own birthday as the passcode.

That was back when their relationship was good. And he had forced Becky to set all the passwords to his birthday.

Chapter 26

She used to be obedient back then.

With a click, the door opened.

In an instant, Sigmund relaxed his eyebrows. And his facial expression also eased a bit.

Then he pushed the door open and entered the house. The lights on the first floor were off. And there was a faint glow coming from the hallway upstairs.

Then Sigmund ascended the stairs. And he stopped at the open room door, where he heard running water coming from the bathroom.

At that moment, Becky was taking a bath in the tub while talking on the phone with Salena. She was completely unaware that someone had arrived.

The condensation misted the bathroom door as it made contact. And then Sigmund could faintly catch a glimpse of Becky’s slender shoulders and fair skin.

He couldn’t make out what they were talking about. But Becky seemed to be in a good mood. And Sigmund could hear her laughter.

“Hey, tell me the truth. Do you still like Sigmund or not?” Salena asked.

Then Becky’s laughter abruptly stopped.

It was followed by a period of silence.

At that moment, Sigmund hadn’t fully processed what was happening. And the next second, he heard Becky’s cold voice come through.

“My feelings for him now are like those for a dog. There are just no significant emotional fluctuations. Becky said flatly.

After hearing that, Sigmund instinctively furrowed his brow.

He could guess what Salena had asked on the other end of the phone.

It was about him.

Becky’s feelings for him were like those for a dog.

He was just a dog in Becky’s eyes

Sigmund lurked in the darkness. And his expression was gloomy.

His breathing became slightly rapid. And the atmosphere around him suddenly grew heavy

After a while, just as Sigmund was about to turn and leave, Becky’s soft voice entered his ears.

“Daley, huh? Just let it be.”

ل

Chapter 26

Sigmund’s footsteps halted, and a mocking smirk formed on his lips.

He thought inwardly, “So, she was so eager to divorce me because she wanted to be with Daley naturally.

“From start to finish, she had only treated me like a dog.

“When she needs me, she would please me for a moment.

“When she doesn’t need me, she would heartlessly kick me away.”

Salena, who was on the other end of the phone, was startled by Becky’s words and shouted loudly over the phone.

“Oh. Come on, Becky. Do you really think you should just let it be when it comes to being friends with Daley? You should just continue to interact with him like before. Besides, I feel like he hasn’t gotten over you.”

Becky pursed her lips and replied, “It’s because of what happened before that things are different now. It’s been a long time since then, and it doesn’t count anymore. That’s why I said we should take it slow this time and let things unfold naturally.”

The call had already been disconnected by the time Becky emerged from the bathroom.

She was wrapped in a towel. And her hair was still dripping wet.

Then Becky closed the bathroom door with the hand holding the towel. But in that instant, when she turned around, her whole body froze in place.

Becky frowned her brow as she looked at Sigmund, whose presence exuded an icy coldness.

He was sitting arrogantly on the sofa and looking at her with an examining gaze, which made her very uncomfortable.

“How did you

end up here?” Becky asked.
