Chapter 25

Then the old person was taken into the ambulance.

The butler finally let go of most of his worries. He took out his cell phone and dialed a phone number.

Then he said, “Yes, Mr. Terry. He is fine now. We’re on our way to the hospital…”

When Simon arrived at the hospital, the doctor had just come out of the emergency room.

“Please rest assured. The patient is out of danger now. But he shouldn’t be alone in this condition next time.”

After giving a few instructions, the doctor turned and left the corridor.

Gabriel Terry, lying on the bed, woke up and looked at his grandson standing by the bedside. Then he gently patted the back of Simon’s hand in reassurance.

Simon breathed a sigh of relief. But he still furrowed his brow. Then he said, “Grandpa, I’ve told you many times not to go out alone or be alone. Why don’t you take it to heart? Who knows what would have happened this time if it weren’t for Leo’s sudden appearance.”

Listening to his grandson’s stern reprimand, Gabriel knew he had no excuse. But he still defended himself in a low voice. He said, “I was perfectly fine when I went out. I didn’t expect this to happen.”

“You didn’t expect it, but this kind of illness is sudden. That’s why there should always be someone with you. Next time, you stick to Leo like glue. If Leo is too busy, I’ll find a few more people for you,” Simon replied.

Leo Gordon, the butler, felt guilty. He said, “It was my negligence. I shouldn’t have left Mr. Terry alone. Fortunately, we encountered a kind–hearted person today. But it doesn’t mean we’ll be so lucky next time.”

Hearing Leo’s words, Simon asked in confusion, “So, does that mean you were not the first one to find Grandpa?”

“No, it wasn’t me. When I arrived, a young girl was already administering first aid to him. It was thanks to her. When I panicked, she quickly gave the medicine to Mr. Terry.”

At that moment, Gabriel remembered something. Then he asked, “Could that young girl be the girl

next door?”

He remembered that before losing consciousness. It seemed like he saw the face of that girl right in front of him. But it was blurry. And now he couldn’t recall her appearance.

Leo was unsure. He replied, “Probably. We really owe her a lot.”

Simon became cy

more puzzled. There was no one living next to his grandfather’s house, so how. could there be any mention of a neighbor girl?

Chapter 25

Leo seemed to understand Simon’s confusion and explained. “The girl next door must have moved in this morning. Mr. Terry greeted her, so he remembers her.”

Gabriel nodded and contemplated in his mind. He needed to thank that kind–hearted girl properly, or else he would have lost his life.

“It seems like we should thank her properly,” Gabriel said.

Simon refuted Gabriel’s words. He said, “Grandpa, the priority is to focus on your health. If she is indeed your neighbor, you can thank her when you’re better. So for now, please stay obediently in the hospital.

“How can that be done?”

Gabriel disagreed with Simon’s words and raised his voice to express his displeasure.

“Grandpa, if you rush over in such haste and something happens to your health, won’t that be ungrateful to her kindness? As a medical professional, she certainly wouldn’t want such a thing to occur. So even if you go a bit later, she won’t blame you as long as you are healthy.”

After finishing his sentence, Simon sighed. But fortunately, he managed to persuade Gabriel. Afterward, Gabobediently sat on the bed and drank his chicken soup.

Meanwhile, Becky, along with Salena, ate at a random place in the mall. And she spent the afternoon shopping with Salena until the evening before returning to her residential area.

Becky put away all the things she bought today in their proper places. Then she placed the flower seeds she had bought and went to freshen up for the night.

Sigmund returned to the Moolery family’s home promptly at 11 o’clock in the evening.

As he pushed open the bedroom door, he realized there was no figure on the bed.

The entire room was silent.

He turned on the light. And the brightness pierced his eyes.

There was no sign of Becky. And Sigmund didn’t even see the wedding photo that was previously placed on the bedside table.

Sigmund thought to himself, “It’s already 11 o’clock, and she hasn’t come back yet?”

Sigmund’s face darkened. And then he walked out hastily.

A servant stopped him.

The servant said, “Mr. Sigmund, Mr. Moolery has returned to the old manor to rest. He asked me to inform you.

Sigmund grunted in response and then immediately asked, “What about Becky?”
