Chapter 2

When Becky returned to the Wood family’s house, she saw her mother and step–sister looking at her with their eyes lit up. They were immensely warm.

“Hey Becky, you’re back! Come here and pick your wedding dress.”

Becky stopped walking. “Wedding dress?” she said.

Vania Wood looked at Becky. A hint of jealousy flashed across her eyes. “Didn’t we say we’ll hold a wedding ceremony for you and Mr. Moolery next month?” Vania said. “The Moolery farnily sent these wedding dresses for you to choose from.

“Come. Have a seat and take a look.”

Sabrina Wood walked over and pulled Becky to sit down. Her gaze swept over the ambiguous marks on Becky’s body. She smiled and said, “It seems like you have a really good relationship with Mr. Moolery,”

Vania sneered and said sarcastically, “You and Mr. Moolery had quite a passionate night last night. It seems like you are afraid that the whole city won’t know that both of you have a loving relationship with each other.”

As she spoke, she tossed a photo onto the table.

Upon picking it up and looking at it, Becky’s expression turned grim.

To Becky’s surprise, it was a photo showing her and Sigmund kissing.

Last night, he celebrated his birthday at a nightclub. She went to meet him.

At that time, Sigmund lost a dare in a game, and the penalty was to kiss a woman.

He was drunk and probably did not see clearly that Becky was the one next to him, so he pulled her over and kissed her.

After Sigmund finished kissing Becky, Becky could still remember that his expression instantly turned displeased when he recognized her. He asked her why she was there.

No one would have expected that, after being married for two years, Sigmund had never touched Becky. They had even agreed not to meddle in each other’s matters

What happened the previous night was the direct cause that triggered the change in their state of relationship.

Sigmund, who was drunk, kissed her when he got home. Becky did not resist.

She even foolishly believed that Sigmund had a change of heart and actually liked her.

From the looks of it, Becky had indulged in romantic fantasies without a basis in reality.

Chapter 2

Sigmund did not love her,

She was completely aware of it now.

Sabrina moved a thick album in front of Becky and said, “Take a look and see which one you like.”

As Becky recalled the disgust in Sigmund’s gaze when he looked at her earlier, she said calmly, “There’s no need to hold a wedding. We’re getting a divorce.”

The smile on Sabrina’s face instantly faded. She said, “What did you say?”

Without waiting for Becky to respond, Sabrina grabbed her and said earnestly, “I’ve got no idea if you have suffered any grievances, but marriage is not a game. How can you just get a divorce when you’re unhappy? No matter what, if you endure a little, it will pass. Have you ever thought about the fact that many people out there want to marry Sigmund

After a pause, Sabrina sighed again and said, “Our family business hasn’t been doing well recently This wedding can be considered an announcement of your marital relationship to the public. It can also bring more opportunities. You wouldn’t want to see the company your father left behind goes downhill like this, would you?”

Becky lifted her eyebrows and chuckled. Then, she said, “Bring more opportunities? You married me off to the Moolery family for personal gain and increased social status, so don’t sugarcoat it by saying that it is a dignified act. Hasn’t the marital alliance with the Moolery family over the past two years brought you enough benefits?”

“Becky!” Sabrina exclaimed.

Sabrina was infuriated. She lifted her hand, wanting to slap Becky.

Becky grabbed Sabrina’s hand before the slap landed on her face.

Becky’s eyes

turned cold. She released Sabrina’s hand with force and said in a stern voice, “Whether or not to divorce is my business. If you’re so eager to seek fame and fortune by marrying off your daughter, why don’t you marry yourself off? If worse comes to worst, you can always have your precious daughter marry into their family.”

The sarcasm in Becky’s remarks caused Vania, who was beside her, to get angry.

“Do I not want to get married into the Moolery family?” Vania thought to herself.

However, Becky was the one that Sigmund chose back then when the marriage alliance was formed.

“I warn you, Becky,” Sabrina said. “There’s no way you’re getting a divorce! The Moolery family has just signed an agreement to collaborate on a project with us. That project is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and the funding has already been transferred to our account. If you get a divorce now, how should we handle things if the Moolery family backs out?”

Becky curled up her lip and said mockingly. “The photo was taken last night, and today you already

signed the deal? Quite fast, indeed. How you handle things is your business. If you insist that I marry into the Moolery family, we’ll completely cut ties from now on, and there will be no relationship between us!”

“Fine, let’s cut ties!” Sabrina said. She then threatened, “I tell you what, Becky. If you refuse to marry, you won’t get a single cent of your father’s inheritance! The house has nothing to do with you either.

“In short, you must hold the wedding.”

Becky looked at her own biological Inother with a scornful smile.

One month after Becky’s father died, Sabrina eagerly married Becky’s uncle. Over the years, she showed more care and affection toward Vania than toward her own biological daughter.

“Does she really think she can still have complete control over the situation?” Becky thought to herself.

The next day, Becky arrived at the city hall early in the morning. However, she waited the entire morning and still did not see Sigmund.

She repeatedly called Sigmund, but he did not answer her calls.

It seemed as if his statement about getting a divorce was just a joke.

In the evening, Becky received a text message from Sigmund.

[The wedding will proceed as planned. After it is done, we will get a divorce.]

When Becky saw this message, she was completely indifferent.

She thought to herself “After it is done, we will get a divorce?

“We are planning to get a divorce, so what’s the point of holding a wedding?”

Becky replied. [There’s no need for that. Let’s just get divorced now.]

Sigmund no longer replied.

A month had passed in the blink of an eye, and until the day before the wedding. Becky had not seen Sigmund again. However, she did come across photos of him attending social events with. other female companions in the news.

Now that Sigmund and Becky were determined to get a divorce, this wedding could be said to have a sense of closure.

Hence, on the day of the wedding, Becky still attended the ceremony..

The belated wedding ceremony of Sigmund and Becky was lavish and grand. It was attended by prominent figures from various circles.

Chapter 2

Becky was dressed in a snow–white wedding gown adorned with sparkling stars. The form–fitting design accentuated her slender waist. Her skin was fair and luminous. Her already stunning face was adorned with delicate makeup. She now looked even more stunning. Like a beautiful sunflower, she radiated dazzling beauty.

As time was running out, the master of ceremonies felt a little awkward. He asked, “Where is the groom?”

Brigham Moolery’s expression turned stern. He asked. “Where is the groom?”

At this moment, Sigmund’s personal assistant, Joey Hampton, rushed over and stammered, “Mr. Moolery, Mr. Moolery said…”

“What did he say?” Brigham asked. His face flushed with anger.

Joey said. “He said..

Joey cast a quick glance at Becky. He then gathered his courage and spoke up. “He said he doesn’t want to proceed with the wedtling. If people insist that he proceed with the wedding, then let a dog stand in for him.”

Brigham felt light–headed, almost fainting. “Unfilial child,” he said.

Becky remained calm. Then, she suddenly smiled.

She thought to herself, “So, this is Sigmund’s objective.

“He wants to retaliate and humiliate me, huh?”

Seeing the guests‘ awkward yet polite smiles, she smiled a little and spoke exceptionally calmly. “Bring it here then,” she said.

Joey widened his eyes. “What?” he said.

Becky’s attractive eyes curved slightly. She smiled without a trace of sadness.

She said word by word, “Bring the dog here to complete the wedding.

“Let’s just consider this marriage as me getting married to a dog,” she thought to herself.
