Dakota's P.O.V

"You don't know what she truly is Dakota. She's a monster!" Danielle Yelled as I gripped her throat, her body dangling from her position against the wall of the cell. I wanted nothing ore than to drive her head into the cement until she stopped breathing at this point.

"I don't give a shit. You harmed my mate! Tell me why you fucking did it!" I snarled back. My vision was quickly becoming my wolfs. I was on the verge of fucking losing it.

Danielle thrashed trying to break free of my hold with a snarl, "That bitch isn't your mate! I am!" The jealousy was clearly written across her deranged face.

I released my hold, letting her pathetic body flop to the floor for oxygen.

"This is your last chance Danielle, tell me why you did it. If you don't I'll rip your fucking heart out and personally deliver it to my Dad." My voice was cold, echoing in the cell. The only noises to be heard were the few water droplets on metal, along with Danielle inhaling greedily for air.

"Go ahead Dakota, you're fighting a battle that you will lose. He's been planning this since your first breath." Her laugh held no humor, cold.

My eyes narrowed to slits "What is he planning." It wasn't a question, but a command.

I watched as she writhed under my command, fighting against it. But she was no match for an Alpha command.

Danielle choked, gasping for air as she clawed at her throat for oxygen. "You know how this works Danielle. If you fight an Alpha command you'll only be hurting yourself. Answer your Alpha!"

"H-He's going to use her to destroy everything. She's an Ele-"

The lights in the room were cut off abruptly, before my vision could adjust I could hear gurgles and the copper smell of blood. Lots of blood.

The lights came back on, and Danielle's body was crumpled against the door lifeless. Her throat slashed, leaving her her head sitting at a disturbing angle as blood continued to spurt outwards.

I slammed my first to the concrete wall, "God damnit!"

I was so close to figuring this out!

Slamming the door open, the guards I had posted outside were against the wall unconscious. I could hear their heartbeats still, alive.

This had to of been one of my Fathers mercenaries. He was planning something big if he didn't want me finding out.

I need to get Kinsley out of here, because whatever the plan was. She was at the heart of it. If only I had been stronger to resist the bastards commands, she would be safe still.

I sat there, in the hospital bed just staring at my open hands.

Dakota held my hand for moments, so gentle as if I were going to disintegrate from a firmer grip. Our hands fit together so perfectly, and for a moment I wanted to never let go. But we aren't perfect together, we never could be.

Not when the hand he held took a life so brutally.

You're a monster.

And monster's don't deserve happiness.

Or to be loved.

Even though I hadn't intended to kill, I still did. And I couldn't argue against that vicious voice in my head.

I let out a deep sigh, Instantly wincing at the pain the breath caused. That's right, I was impaled by a fucking knife.

I let out a low growl, the second I find Danielle I'm going to.. What? Kill? Again? My teeth clenched, I was torturing myself. The voice, It isn't real. Or is it?

I tried to shift in the bed for a more comfortable position, only for it to hurt even more.

God's I felt so fucking fragile, I couldn't breathe properly or move a fraction of an inch without wincing. I hate this feeling of being completely helpless. Only time could heal my injuries.

Maybe I deserved to feel like this, after what I had done.

Did he have a Mate? A family? I couldn't help but let my thoughts wander to a weeping woman, clutching her children from the ache in her soul. The emptiness of losing a loved one. That emptiness, I was the cause of. An emptiness, I was all to familiar with.

Tears began to well in my eyes.

Warm arms wrapped around me, and the flood gates had broke. My cries were loud, and sorrow filled. Shaking, from the brutal reality.

"I-I didn't want to kill him." I choked out finally as I clutched a fist to the fabric of a shirt.

"In time it'll get easier. You did what needed to be done for survival Kinsley, and I don't blame you for that." Noah's voice was soft and sincere. His voice sounded like he could relate to what I was feeling. Has he killed like I have?

"I'm a Monster, Noah. If you had seen.."

Noah gripped my upper arms lightly, looking into my eyes. "You are not a monster Kinsley. They went out there to kill you. It was you or them."

The door to the room came open, Dakotas figure filling in the door frame completely. His green eyes drilled into me, holding so much emotion. Emotions that I wasn't ready to read into.

Noah leaned in and placed a kiss on my forehead, "Get well Kinsley."

Noah left the room silently, and Dakota stalked his way to the side of the bed.

His scent wafted to me, a refreshing smell of pine trees and rain. Soothing and calming the pain in my soul.

"I'm getting you out of here. It isn't safe for you to be here." His deep voice was a whisper, sending a shiver down my spine at his nearness.

Wait, He's letting me go?

His hand slipped into mine, taking up the empty space between my fingers. "Whatever happens, you run and don't look back."

That sent a spark of fear down my spine, what was happening?

Finally looking up, I met his green-gold gaze. "Why are you letting me go now? Why bring me here again? and what has you so concerned with my safety? Danielle is going to get her ass handed to her once I'm healed. If I don't kill her. But I'm not making any promises."

Ah, there it is again. Kill.

I shivered involuntarily, stop. Stop, please.

Dakota never looked away from me "She's dead. Someone murdered her before I could get answers. What I do know is that my Father is plotting something big, and you're at the heart of his plans. You're not safe here."

Goddess, murder?

I truly underestimated these people. Cold blooded killers, monsters.

Maybe, you aren't any better than they are. Now are you Kinsley?
