Chapter Nineteen

Rapunzel's POV

I awoke gasping for air as the sudden need to move with an urgency hit me like a ton of bricks. "Dylan?" I spun as I looked at my dad. He stood in the far corner of the room speaking with a man I didn't recognize as my mom and brother sat with an unknown woman on the couch. My heart sunk as I hadn't seen the person I was subconsciously looking for *we need to find him now dylan.* Amima rushed out as I stumbled off the bed and put the room the confused shouting of my family sounded behind me as I rushed to the elevator and pressed the ground floor button. Upon reaching I dashed out the hospital running into the woods frantically as my legs lead me to where I think he was. A loud howl erupted through the forest, and I stopped as tears ran down my cheeks uncontrollably. The howl was filled with grief, pain and sadness so strong, so genuine that my knees began to buckle slightly beneath me. "Dimitri?!" I shouted knowing that he'd have a better chance at finding me than I him a few minutes passed by when I got no response and my legs finally crumbled beneath me "I'm so sorry for pushing you away." I sobbed out as my hands laid limp on my knees, the lump in my throat became extremely painful as I felt the emotions surging through the mate bond we had "I'm sorry." I whispered out crying desperately even though he was the one in the wrong but the pain I'm feeling no doubt because of this mate bond was extremely painful and it became even more painful the longer I stayed angry at him and the longer I stayed away from him.

I rubbed at my chest furiously as the pain kept getting worse "it's all my fault." Came the gruff voice of my mate as his warmth surrounded us which had me instantly melting into him. I sobbed into his bare chest as he rubbed my back soothingly whispering sweet nothings in my ear " I should've sided with you no matter how badly it'll affect you in the end because you're my mate and I should've respected your decisions." He muttered out softly as my loud sobs died down into little sniffles. "But I didn't want you to carry the burden of having someone else's blood on your hands and I apologize deeply for the hurt I've caused you when I- it's just that I know what it's like having the death of someone you killed weighing on your mind and I didn't want you to experience that and I-" I cut off his rambling by placing a soft kiss upon his lips. "That's a risk I'm willing to take, she tried to kill my family, tried to take what's mine and even had the audacity to rub it in my face." I growled out, wishing I could've resurrect the dead so I could kill the bitch again. "I'm so sorry love but you did something terrible and even though you feel no regret to what you've done there are consequences to your actions." He lectured causing me to roll my eyes. "I'm you're talking about the potential war between the witches and your pack no need the lady disowned the slut then gave me permission to and I quote 'do what you wish'." I said as I pulled back from him. His face showed mild shock as he looked at me "You don't say." He replied leaning in to kiss me "just because we apologized doesn't mean you're out of the shit you sat yourself into."

I said pushing his pouted lips away with my hand. His face turned into sadness personified and I had to force myself from hugging and kissing the daylight out of him "let's get your naked ass into some damn clothes, having your dick flaunting over the place." I clicked my tongue as I got up and walled towards the direction thought I ran in but alas I was proved wrong when Dimitri grabbed my shoulder lightly before turning me in the opposite direction. We were silent for most of the walk before I busted out laughing Dimitri looked at me in confusion before he asked what's was so funny. "This kinda reminds me of that time when I had just come to this town and was out for drive when I stopped in the middle of nowhere and this naked guy comes out the bushes." I chuckled softly as Dimitri looked cofused but mildly intrigued. Mhm? That dude I wonder if he's okay, what about his nose? "Do you know anyone named Chris who lives on Burry Drive?" Dimitri looked at me for a few seconds before nodding "yeah a group of fox shifters live there and how do you know Chris?" He asked raising a curious brow. "Well he was the one I picked up that night." I replied pushing the doors to his house opened as I went in. "I thought we were going to the hospital?" I questioned as I sat on the most comfortable chair I've ever had the pleasure of sinking my ass into. "Yeah but first we need to talk about what I did wrong." He replied as he closed the door and sat beside me. "What is there to talk about?" I questioned as I looked into his eyes "I know what I did was wrong, I know but." I shut him up "we already went over this in the forest why bring it up again?" He sighed in defeat as he hung his head "because I know you're still angry at me and I deserve your anger but it's so heartbreaking to feel the pain you feel and knowing that I'm the cause of it, please, please forgive me Dylan." He grabbed my hands gently kissing the knuckles as he continued to beg for forgiveness. I had already forgiven him whether I wanted to or not, I could feel the genuine sorrow emitting from him and his wolf and it broke my heart. The silence stretched for minutes and when I still hadn't replied I felt something warm falling on my hands "please Dylan, please I'm so sorry I never meant to hurt I swear just- please say something." He sobbed out still looking down as his the sobs rocked his body. I pulled my hands from his and stood up, however the action just made him curl up crying harder. "Dimitri." I called out softly as I hugged his shaking form. "Look at me." I whispered as I brought his head closer to mine staring into his red blotchy eyes. My heart broke a bit more as I saw the pain in them, resting my forehead on his I nuzzled him softly trying to calm his raging breathing down. "I had forgiven you a long time ago Dimitri, I know I may seem standoffish but that's because I'm angry not at you, well maybe a bit at you but more to myself that I stood by and watch you guys get hurt." He goes to say something but I peppered kisses on his lips to halt him. "So for that I'm saying I'm sorry and you're forgiven so please don't be sad anymore." He sighed softly before crushing me in a hug "I don't deserve you." He muttered out between my neck where he had taken residence. I chuckled softly as I shifted myself and climbed on top of him, laying down on the huge man below felt extremely welcoming and warm as I wrapped my hands around his torso laying my head above his beating heart. "Let's get some sleep yeah?" He hummed in agreement as he too wrapped me in his arms and with the comfort of my mate I drifted off into a dreamless dream.

"Dylan wake up." I was nudged awake by someone as I groaned and rolled "Whoa there!" I jumped up shocked as someone caught me before I had hit the ground, oh that's right I fell asleep on Dimitri. Rubbing my eyes I sat on his lap as I looked around at all the persons stationed infront me. My family looked at me with confused faces while the the two unknown persons who seems to be everywhere my folks are stared at me with astonishment, well the man more so the woman. "We tried calling several times, you can't just up and run away like that do you have any idea how worried we were?" Dad said as he shoe me senseless "I'm sorry dad but what did you try to call me on cuz my phone, bag and car are still at school." I said in a duh tone but that only resulted in me getting smacked on the head. "Shut it smart mouth." Mom said rubbing the spot dad had hit. "You owe us an explanation." Dad said as he flanked my right, mom my left and Jax between Dimitri's and I's legs. I told them what happened and at first they were pissed at the witch but angry at me for the action that I took. "You shouldn't have killed her honey." Mom coaxed as I ran my hand through Jax's mounds of curls while playing with Dimitri's hand for added comfort. "I know but it had gotten me so pissed at the time and Amima and I both had come to a conclusion that if she was still alive he'll just take over and kill her himself. Which was what had happened when I burst into the hospital room, but that was mostly because we were angry at Dimitri." I muttered out as I sunk back against my mate. He moved my hair out the way and buried his face in the crook of my neck "I'm sorry." He muttered again which caused me to shake my head in response. "Well at least I finally got to meet the future Luna and son-in-law." I looked up at the man as his voice registered. I however didn't say anything about it since now wasn't the right time to. "Nice to meet you sir." I smiled softly as I stood pulling Dimitri with me "now if you'll excuse me, I have to shower and wash my hair." I was stopped by a voice chuckling "and you need your mate to help you?" I turned to see Jax rolling his eyes at me. "Who ever said that's the only thing we'll do?" I said smiling slyly as choked gasps sounded around the room "come on babe." Dimitri said chuckling as he lead us up the stairs the wandering of his hands had me flustered as I thought about what could happen while we're behind closed doors. Oh gosh what did I get myself into?
