“Yep. I know exactly what happened to us. But, I know how to make a plan where we don’t get killed along with our team. Let me tell you about it, okay?”

Matheus started talking, explaining his plans. It was a good plan. We made a few changes in his plan, talking about our insurgent spot. He explained how he had a cache of weapons buried in an underground weapons room, waiting for our fight. He talked about the explosives he had, which made me very happy. He talked about the two person helicopter he could put together so a sniper could shoot from up high. We talked for a little over an hour.

“I like your plan, Matheus and Selina. It’s a solid plan. If you don’t mind letting Eagle and Flirt operating your HELO,” suggested Madrid as the rest of the men nodded. “I rather have you and Selina setting up the explosives, after you two take out the snipers and any other sentries, okay?”

We both nodded our head.

“Woo-hoo! Explosives,” I whisper yelled as everyone started laughing.

Matheus looked over to Flirt, keying up his mic. “You break it, you buy it. Do you hear me, Flirt?” I joked with him.

“Yes, go-go gadget.”

Matheus glared at him and shook his head, trying not to smile. I knew the Shadow Cats were always teasing him but I could tell he didn’t mind.

I took a deep breath when Matheus did. I knew he was ready to go after the monster - so was I. I looked around at the team, worried about them. I knew I shouldn’t, but I couldn’t help it. These men were taking up my fight. And, I was thankful for the help.

Just think explosives.” Rawr snickered. “I know you love things that go kaboom as long as the kaboom is not next to you. We’re going to take the monster out and be done with his bullshit.”

I know. The explosive comment helped me a lot. Thanks, Rawr,” I told my jaguar, myself. You know what I mean.

I turned back into the men’s conversation. They were all looking at me strangely. “What? My jaguar calmed by telling me one word - explosives.”

“I’ve never seen you have a smile so big. Now, I understand why,” Flirt clarified, snickering at my face.

I shook my head as Matheus and I started explaining where we needed to go to get the weapons we needed. It wasn’t far from the compound, at least according to Matheus. He would know considering he built the bunker right under the monster’s nose.

“Hey, Matheus, what made you decide to build all of the bunkers and houses?” I asked. I was curious about all of his earlier plans to be ready for...war?

“Our past live coincides with the plans to build and be ready for everything. We’ve gone up against Barbosa before. But, there are some number of changes from before. Barbosa asking for help and his men being sick little puppies.”

“Wait! You two have been up against Barbosa before? Do you think he remembers everything in his past life?” Warrior questioned.

I looked at Matheus and shrugged my shoulders. “He can’t remember things for any length of time.” I paused and looked Matheus. “But, he might have written it down as he remembered stuff. Do you think we can use it against him.”

“Great question. Our plan is totally different than our past life. I made sure of it. I wanted a way around his memories. The explosives,” he paused, smiling at me. “And, the helicopter I built to help us with this.”

Madrid started muttering, “Sure would like to know when you had the time to do all of this. What, did you start when you were six?”

We all started snickering at Madrid. We didn’t think he knew he said all of it out loud but he did. He was looking at all of us strange, still muttering to himself.

“Actually, I was ten-years-old when I started building the helicopter,” Matheus pointed out.

All of us looked at Matheus incredulously, our mouths gaping open.

“You were ten?” Madrid squeaked out, clearing his throat and asking again. “You were ten-years-old when you built your first helicopter?”

“It wasn’t my first helicopter. I built a mini one when I was five,” Matheus boasted as he shrugged his shoulders.

Madrid was the first to say anything as the rest of us were still in shock. “You’re a regular wiz kid. I think go-go gadget fits perfectly. I’m going to have your nameplate changed.”

“I don’t have an office for a nameplate to be attached to, General. I work in a warehouse, it’s safer,” Matheus dryly said as we all snickered.

“We ready to head to the bunker? If so, let’s book.”

We all nodded, standing up in the trees and using the interconnected limbs - or animal highway. We were still on alert, not knowing what Barbosa would try. He could have moved some of his men out. We weren’t sure what he was going to do.

We ran as quickly and quietly as we could. We needed to boogey our asses if we wanted to have time to set up the explosives. We wanted to catch him about two to three in the morning, hoping his men would be tired of hunting us all day. We knew most security guards got sloppy around the same time.

After running for about two hours, we dropped out of the trees. We were looking at each other as we were standing in, what seemed like, a flat part of the forest. There was dead foliage on the ground
