Chapter 46 [End]

-Nathan’s POV-

It has been three days since the death of Terui. Needless to say, the entire werewolf community had heard what was going on. An online meeting was held with Alphas all around the globe to discuss moving on. With the exception of a few Alphas, The others agreed to create a new council of Elders.

Alex was elected as the Head Elder mostly because I, the white wolf, is his mate and also the fact that he was the one who killed Terui. Elder Olivia remained in position, along with a few others who had been on her side. Luna and Christopher were both raised to the rank of Elder as well due to their achievements. Philip, as the beta, was tasked to be Alex’s advisor.

Me?

“Alex, stop it!” I whined as he continued to balance the tiara on my head, no matter how many times I tried to get rid of it. Alex laughed heartily. It was decided that I would be the central figure, being a white wolf and all. I rejected the position but let’s just say that my opinion on this was disregarded. After reaching a consensus, the members of the new council presented me with a tiara that belonged to the white wolf from centuries ago. Since Elder Olivia was the one presenting it, I couldn’t reject it.

“Dad! Stop laughing and help me!” I screamed but dad roared with laughter, clutching his sides painfully. Gale didn’t help much either. He wants the damn tiara.

“Alright, alright!” Alex chuckled, putting the tiara away. “But instead, I have something else to give you.”

Gale’s ears immediately perked up. He pranced around my head, waves of giddy happiness intruding on my very heart. I looked at Alex quizzically. Dad immediately stopped laughing, but the big smile never left his face. Alex got down on one knee.

“Nathan Skye, will you please marry me?” Alex proposed. Tears welled up in my eyes. 5 years ago… No….Even just a year ago, I would have never thought that I would ever be able to find a mate. Yet here he is, asking me for my permission to be with him till the very end. I looked at Dad and he shot me a strained smile, he looked like he was refusing to even let a single tear be seen. I chuckled and said yes.

Alex carefully slipped on a beautiful ring. The ring had two beautiful blue gems. A dark ocean blue color, and one that was a light icy blue. I immediately knew that they were a reflection of Alex’s and Fenrir’s eye colour. Gale yipped happily in my head.

You knew about this, didn’t you, I accused Gale.

Yup, Gale responded. Fenrir is a pretty bad liar, I instantly knew it.

“Alright, now that is settled, I’m gonna prepare this guy.” Elder Oliva announced and whisked me away. I was so preoccupied with my thoughts I didn’t even hear her enter, let alone carry me.

“Wait! What is going on!” I screamed as she dragged me off into a room. Kalen, Hastie, and Hallie were already in the room.

“Your wedding ceremony!” Hastie deadpanned. Hallie was giddy with excitement, a huge makeup box readied in both hands.

“Now?”

“Yes.” All three of them answered.

In a blurred flurry of hands, they dressed me up in a white suit, fixed my makeup, styled my hair, and made sure every inch of me was the best version of myself. I looked into the mirror.

“Yeah, I’m never going to get used to this.” I huffed. I don’t hate the look, but if I’m going to have to put in this much effort to look my best? You can bet it won’t happen every day. A knock on the door caught our attention.

“Nathan? Can I come in?” Lucas shouted from the other side of the door.

“Go ahead!” I shouted back while the ladies busied themselves to fixing… whatever they think is not good enough. Lucas walked in with a worried look. “What is it?”

“Did Jake come here by any chance?” He asked sheepishly.

“Jake? I don’t think so?” I pondered.

“Is that so? Sorry to disturb you.” He thanked me before walking off. I wonder if Jake got lost or something. After one last check, Dad walked into the changing room with a smile on his face.

“Shall we go?”

We walked into the wedding hall. The walls were draped with light blue cloths, white rose petals decorated the floor and the whole pack was seated not so patiently. Everyone was giddy with excitement. It may not be the marvelous and extravagant wedding that everyone wants but it was more than enough for me. At the altar, Alex was standing with a million-dollar smile on his face. He was dressed in a navy blue suit that suited him. Dad walked me down the aisle.

No one here is my blood family, yet strangely, I don’t seem to be upset by it. Raphael took me in and treated me like a son, Elder Olivia was the protective grandma that I never knew, and all the friends I met along the way treated me like their best friend. The entire pack seemed ready to throw any celebration for any little reason as if making up for all the time my blood family didn’t. This is my family now.

I stood next to Alex, Dad taking a seat in the front row.

“You look beautiful.” The sparkles in his eyes don’t lie. Ray, the acting priest, stood in front of us. He cleared his throat.

“Alright, I’m not gonna be doing those sappy sappy speeches so let’s get right to it, is there anyone who is against this marriage.” The hall was dead silent.

“I knew we shouldn’t have let him do it,” Dad muttered under his breath which made me giggle.

“Now then, do you both take each other as your fated husband?” He raised an eyebrow at us.

“I do.” Alex and I replied at the same time, My face flushed but Alex was sporting a huge grin. The entire hall erupted in howls and cheers.

“HOW DARE YOU!” Jake? “A mother just died a few days ago and you are here celebrating?”

“Jake…” Lucas started but was instantly cut off by the growls that resounded in the hall, even Alex was prepared for a fight. That was when I saw them. My blood mother and the two remaining members of the Darkvale pack. Luke and Kelvin Mantle.

“Jake, I can assume that you’re the one who let them out, right?” Alex sneered. Jake flinched but didn’t back down.

“That is right! I’m taking the position as Alpha of the Darkvale pack, and I am declaring war with you! Nathan, the next time we see each other, I will make sure you pay for killing all the innocent lives. You are no white wolf, I WILL NOT ACCEPT IT!” Jake screamed. “Oh, and Lucas, we are through.”

Lucas let out a painful scream before collapsing hard onto the ground.

“Don’t let them escape!” Alex commanded and several wolves leaped into action but it was too late. As if they had planned this from the start. The moment we got to them, they were gone. Leaving just a declaration of war.

It is not over.
