I laid down on the bed too angry to care whether I woke Emerald or not, she woke up suddenly and saw my angered expression she said sleepily "what's wrong?" I took a deep breath and said "there's no way of saving him, he's been bitten by a wolf whilst he was out on one of his many flesh hunts, there's no antidote for it, it'll kill him in a few days, it causes a lot of pain physically and he'll lose all of his senses, taste, smell you name it. Even touch. I'm sorry Emerald I'm so sorry." She looked in complete shock and sadness, she got out of bed and laid on her stomach next to me and said "I'm sorry too, you'll lose your brother. Did you ever find out why he killed your girlfriend years ago?" I nodded and said "yes, he was just hungry basically, that was the reason, he knew who she was and he still killed her." Emerald nodded and put her arms around my neck, she said "so we just wait it out?" I looked at her confused for a moment she clarified saying "the wolf bite." I shrugged and said "I guess, unless I can think of an alternative." She asked as she ran her fingers through my hair "like what? You killing him?"  I looked away I couldn't bear to look at her say it, if I say it it's one thing, if she says it, it's just different, she said "you want to kill him don't you? For what he did?" I nodded, I put my face in my paws, I felt like crying, but it doesn't solve situations like this, I had to do something. I said with anger and sadness "yes he deserves to die, but I also don't want him to endure the symptoms of the bite, much as I hate him I don't want to see him go through that. But only with your permission if you can think of anything alternative for him to die more peacefully I guess." Emerald gasped in shock and looked thoughtful and said "I don't want to see him go through it either. I can give you a herbal mixture recipe to make that kills creatures and humans quick and painlessly." She turned away and I could tell she was going to cry, I walked over and hugged her from behind, I said "he'd want it this way." I ran my paw through her hair as she sobbed, I think she still cared about him even if she didn't love him anymore. But how do me and her feel about each other? That's the million dollar question. One that needs to be answered really, granted the sex is great but is there more to it on an emotional level for her? But now is not the time to ask about it.
