Ch 9 Protector

Max's POV

As i walked inside the house , Austin mind linked me.

* I'm in your office*

*So what's so important*

I mentally said without hesitation, While walking inside my father's office upstairs. As I sat down behind the desk, he spoke suddenly. While Austin and Justin stood in front of me. Justin Jacobs is my gamma aka 3rd in command, once I stand up and take this pack as mine they would be my right and left guards at all times needed.

"It seems that something or someone is coming on our land, and before we can reach them they leave. It's like they are scoping out our land or something, I don't like it "

Austin stated seriously, while looking at me . Waiting for a reply, I couldn't be impulsive though so I asked.

"Have you heard from the neighbors about this ? Maybe it's a misunderstanding, we do own the most land on the eastern side of Georgia" I stated simply.

"I run alot and I see that there's no real indicators of what our land and their land other then scent, we should change that"

"What should we do then alpha?" Justin asked.

"The northern ice moon pack and southern sun moon pack said they haven't heard anything or seen anything whatsoever" Austin stated.

Hmm this is abnormal, who could be casing my pack lands so obnoxiously . What could they be after ? I need to figure this out for my and my packs sake , this could end badly for both party's.

"Buff up security and make sure if anybody touches our land without approval kill or cripple on site . I don't want any answers, just blood." I paused slightly before finishing because I seen the uneasy looks from my left and right guards

" I know some pack members have ties to the neighbors. so you make the decision to kill or cripple I'll leave that to you two but no exceptions, there's no 3rd choice kill or cripple" I said while grinding my teeth .

"Inform me when there is some changes, I have something to attend to." I stated while walking out and downstairs towards the kitchen.

I could hear Austin and Justin barking orders thru the mind link. I'm glad I have good friends and subordinates, they keep my head in good shape. It would be all blood and gristle if it was up to me,

Literally survival of the fittest.

My dad thought strength was the root of succession, as long as I was the strongest I'll be the greatest. Which is understandable at most, if it wasn't for me I would have fell short of what I need to become. I have over 500 plus people depending on me and my succession.

If only my pack knew the blood sweat and tears I put in, they wouldn't look at me like I just took the handle due to my bloodline. This wasn't as easy as it seem, and I hate how some of my people look at me . Like this was a handout, but enough of that Kim probably feels all of these unsettling feelings.

As I walk in the kitchen I see my angel, sitting at the counter eating pancakes .

"Hungry?" I said while chuckling slightly, I'm a waffle person myself so it was fun to learn she was a pancake person I wonder what else she likes and dislike.

"Yes I was just hungry, and why didn't you tell me you have a housekeeper and a chef?" She said after swallowing a bite.

" You didn't ask," I said while chuckling.

"Let's go on a real date, I want to do this right." I told her.

" Are you serious, of course I would love that max," she said shyly.

God she was the most beautiful woman I ever seen, I never knew having a mate could be this wonderful. I see why my dad has been so aggressive about me finding my mate to receive the crown and reigns to the pack.

We just met but I'm sure shes the one, rather if she want to be or not. I NEED her, plain and simple. If I want to reach the next level I need her primordial yin within her wolf, my wolf would reach heights I couldn't imagine. Its like once a wolf mates fully , with an alpha with ancient royal bloodline like myself it's like heaven and earth how different it is .

It's a big difference from just regular pack members. Me and Kim wolfs would synchronize to such a level we would be the strongest on the state eazy we could possibly even absorb the other packs as one under us.

Our wolfs would cultivate a bond that could not be broken other than by death. She needed to be pure though, I couldn't smell anything on her but I need to make sure if not I will fall short.

My father will not have that , I need to check before they meet. I could never live down that disappointment, I've came this far what's a few months. After this milestone if I could get a cub as well. My reign would be strong the for next 80 years at least.

Everything happens for a reason.

I cannot fail.

I will not fail.

And even if she not pure, she will be by image and I'll have her be my concubine after I marry Jen secretly. I just met her, all this love I feel is because of the mating ritual starting I don't even know her.

I've been messing with Jen for at least 8 months and she one of the strongest females in our pack, it wouldn't hurt to reconcile with her and keep my pack ahead.

Lost in thought I didn't seem to notice her in front of me staring with great intensity.

"Uh-yes angel?" I asked after I snapped out of it.

"What are you thinking about, I just felt multiple emotions from my wolf. Are you okay you seem off?" She asked now serious.

"I'm fine just hungry," I said while grabbing a apple, taking a bite out of it.

" I can fix that let's go to the grocery store, I'll make you something good" she said with a deadly smile.

My heart throbbed a lil. "Sure that's sounds fine angel"

As I pull out my keys , she snatches them.

"I'll drive, lets go!" She yelled happily with a giggle.

How am I gonna get thru this if it goes all bad , I hope she stayed pure for me. I don't know if I can cut this bond once it starts next full moon .......
