Chapter 1727

Sherry delivered a swift blow across his face.

The thunderous clap echoed across the corridor and could still be heard after seconds had passed. The group of thugs was all equally dumbfounded. They were not expecting Sherry to slap the leader as well.

Both Jason and Nelson remained silent.

John was the only one smiling satisfactorily. It was only when he observed the way Sherry continued to limp that a scowl formed on his face again.

The leader of the thugs who had just been slapped by Sherry was glaring at her viciously.

Sherry did not back down as she cocked an eyebrow and confronted the thug head-on. There was a rabid glow in her eyes that showed that she was not afraid of him. “What are you looking at? Don't test me or I'll tear your eyebrows out of your socket!”

This seemed to intimidate the leader at last as he impishly averted his gaze from Sherry.

Sherry interrogated him, “Who sent you here? Was it Aiden? That b*stard!”

The leader kept his lips sealed and refused to answer.

Jason roared suddenly. “Talk!”

The leader was jolted by Jason's sudden outburst but continued to hold his tongue.

Sherry scoffed with disdain, then she proceeded to raise her palms in the air.

Smack!

She slapped him across the face again, even harder than the last time.

The leader nearly fainted.

His group of posse was terrified by the brazen woman.

Jason and Nelson were appalled by this as well.

John, who was quietly spectating this entire time, displayed a look of shock, quickly followed by a proud smile.

Sherry’s hands were trembling by this point.

She put in all the strength she could muster in that slap back there. She could feel her hands growing numb after that slap.

She knew that she could not display any sign of weakness, not here or now.

She took a deep breath, then she bore a piercing look into the eye of the leader and hissed sharply. “If you don't answer me right now, I'll make sure you don't live to see tomorrow!"

Thump!

As soon as she said that, Jason kicked the thug's knees which made him crumble to the ground and kneel at Sherry’s mercy.

Sherry felt her heart skip a beat when she witnessed the sight.

The combination of Sherry's imposing attitude and John standing right behind her made the leader give in at last. He broke down and threw his head in his arms while shuddering the entire time. Soon, he confessed, “It was Aiden, he ordered the hit. He paid us a lot of money and wanted us to teach you a lesson. We're just doing our jobs, please forgive us, boss.”

Sherry got the confession she wanted at last. She looked at Jason.

Jason met her gaze and the look in his eyes seemed to imply that he was waiting for further instructions. His look seemed to be asking the question: How should we take care of them?

Sherry suddenly found herself at a loss. She had only wanted to know if it was Aiden who ordered the hit. She had not considered what to do after she got the answer she wanted.

She shot a confused look at John.

John approached immediately and took her by the hand, then he turned to Jason and Nelson. “Let them go.”

Sherry stiffened.

Before she could protest, Jason and Nelson had let the thugs go.

The leader got to his feet in an instant and ran off faster than they could blink.

The entire pack scurried after him in no time, they ran past the hotel lobby and disappeared into the streets.

An immediate silence fell upon the corridor.

"Why are your hands shaking?” John asked while squeezing Sherry’'s hand.

Sherry realized that she had been holding her breath this entire time. She sighed and blurted out, It's tingling from when I slapped that thug back there, I slapped him as hard as I could.”
