The moon cast its luminous glow on John's face.

His aura took on a different form as usual. It was dark and gloomy, further accentuated by the cold gusts of wind that blew by, sending a cold shiver through his spine. The man. stood by himself, castaway, and left to fend for himself in the lonely night.

He silently crossed the road and entered the hotel lobby.

As soon as he entered the lobby, two people approached him.

It was Aiden and Caden. They had been waiting here for a while.

They were both smiling.

Aiden asked, “Mr. Stockton, did you come back from visiting your ex-wife?”

John asked in a dark tone, “Did you come here just to ask me this?”

Aiden went straight to the point. “She's going to be engaged to Carl. Has she mentioned this to you?”

John answered, his voice gloomy, “No.”

Aiden and Caden laughed at his expense.

“Mr. Stockton, have you made up your mind yet?” Aiden asked with a taunting smile, “Are you going to let her marry another man and say goodbye to her forever, or are you going to put an end to this farce with our help?”

John stayed silent for a while, then he looked at them with a destitute look. “Are you two sure you can help me?”

Caden immediately declared, “Of course, with the resources at our disposal, getting her back to your side is the easiest thing you could ask us for!”

Aiden agreed with a charming smile. “We're men of our word. As long as you can drive a wedge in their engagement and prevent Sager Corporation from falling into Carl's hands, I assure you that we'll help you remarry Sherry no matter what.”

John contemplated for several seconds, then he asked, “How do you plan to achieve that?”

Aiden and Caden exchanged a smile with one another, then Aiden said, “Come, let's go to the cafe over there and we'll give you the details.”

At six in the morning, Sherry was woken up by the alarm clock she set.

She could not sleep in today even if she wanted to as she had an engagement ceremony

to attend.

Caprice was still sound asleep.

Sherry did not want to interrupt her sleep, so she silently tiptoed out of the bedroom and went to the living room. She was going to head outside and ask the bodyguard John had installed here to deliver a message to John and have him pick up Caprice.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she opened the door, John was already standing outside.

He was dressed in his usual getup, a white shirt paired with black trousers.

He stood tall and mighty as usual, a tint of warmth glowed inside his eyes when he met Sherry's gaze.

Sherry was startled by his sudden appearance and blurted out, “When did you get here?”

It was only six o'clock in the morning.

John smiled. “I just got here.”

This came off as a shock to Sherry. She recalled how she would see him standing outside every morning when she opened the door to collect the breakfast delivered to her place.

Was it his usual routine to come here before the sun had even risen across the horizon?

She frowned at the thought.

Then again, she never asked for him to come so early. She wagered that he only did so because he was bored out of his mind at the hotel and had nothing better to do.

Sherry brushed the thought aside and announced, “I'm leaving soon so I'm not going to have time to eat breakfast with Caprice today so make sure she eats something when she wakes up.”

John answered dutifully, “Okay.”

Sherry went back into the bedroom and brought Caprice who was still sleeping like a log to

John.

John took Caprice into his arms and said with a smile, “Good luck with work today, I'll be waiting for you with Caprice.”

Sherry did not form a reply.

John left with Caprice.

Sherry closed the door after that.

She heaved a long sigh, then she went to take a thorough shower.

After that, she changed into a set of casual clothes and headed downstairs where she got into her car.

She drove to Lisa's house.

The dress was ready for her to put on, and a makeup artist was waiting there as well.

Carl was also going to Lisa's house.

After everything was ready, the two would set off together to the venue of the engagement ceremony.

Coincidentally, shortly after Sherry drove out of the apartment complex, she chanced into John walking along the side of the road with Caprice who was already awake.

She was enjoying a piece of waffle while being carried in John's arms.
