Yohan gave Caroline a bundle of documents. “Everything’s in here!”

After Caroline flipped through all the contents, she was a little shaken. She closed the document and stood up immediately. “Get the car ready. I’m heading back to the Lewis residence.”

Not only was she going to get her revenge, but she also wanted to find her eldest son.

She gave birth to four kids after getting pregnant with the mysterious man’s children that year. The last one was a daughter who passed away at birth.

Caroline kept her promise and gave her oldest son to the man. Meanwhile, she took the other two with her.

“Five years have passed. How is my oldest son? I can’t help but miss him every time I think about him,” she brooded over the

matter.

Each time she thought about him, her heart would break a little more.

The Lewis residence stayed in a highly distinguished and magnificent residence. After the merger with Thompson Group, Harry Lewis became the head of the four emerging families in Jipsdale overnight. Finally, he was an actual influential businessman.

Harry lived a different lifestyle after he had become a wealthy man – even his house underwent a full-on renovation. The family practically behaved like they were one of the high and mighty.

When Caroline walked through the door, she got stopped by two security guards of the Lewis residence. They asked, “Who are you?”

“Someone that you can’t afford to offend!” she replied.

Clad in all black, she exuded a cold presence.

Upon hearing her haughty remark, the security guard chuckled amusedly and said, “This is the Lewis residence. Unauthorized personnel aren’t allowed to enter it. Go away now. Shoo!”

Suddenly, a resounding crack sounded before one of the security guards yelled in pain. “Arghhh! My hand is going break…”

He knelt on the ground from the pain of his fractured hand. The other security guard, however, remained frozen for a while. The two did not see or realize that Caroline had attacked them while they were laughing at her earlier.

Her movement was as fast as lightning. It was the reason why they were unable to deflect the attack.

“Do you want to experience a broken hand as well?”

Lifting her head. Caroline glared coldly at the other security guard. He was frightened by her steely gaze. Utterly shaken, he wanted to run away and call for backup. “Somebody come here quick!”

Another loud crack sounded. The second security guard’s leg broke, and he instantly stumbled to the ground while hissing in pain.

Caroline looked down at the guards briefly. With a cold voice, she ordered, “If you don’t want to die, shut your traps at

once!”

The screams stopped immediately. Even though they were in a lot of because they knew the woman standing in front of them was too ruthless

they did not dare to utter a word. That was

Caroline went straight for the living room after striding past the garden in the Lewis residence.

Just then, she could hear the voice of a woman crying from inside the house. “Mom, I don’t want to marry Quintin! He’s going to die soon. If you insist on me marrying a person in a vegetative state, it’s better for me to die now.”

The voice was very familiar to Caroline. It was the voice of her cousin, Yvonne Xanthos. As Yvonne had become the official daughter of the Lewis residence, her name had gotten changed to Yvonne Lewis.

The man that Yvonne was talking about, Quintin Ziegler, was the famous CEO of Quinton Corporation.

After Quintin took over the family business, the company expanded significantly under his leadership. It ventured into finance, real estate, hotel chain, and other business areas. At this point, it became the largest and most influential company nationally.

Unfortunately, the talented businessman got into a car accident a month ago. Rumors said that he became paralyzed in bed and was currently in a vegetative state. Some even believed that he would die soon.

Hence, the superstitious Ziegler family had been looking for a suitable woman 10 marry him so that she could ward off his bad luck. They chose the bride based on her birthdate after collecting information about all the single women in the city. As luck would have it, they had chosen Yvonne to be his bride.

I don’t want you to marry him either. We gave them Caroline’s birthdate when they asked for your basic information. Yvonne shifted from her mother and onto her father, Harry, as she begged, “Dad, please think of something! I don’t want to marry him. I really don’t want to. Why must it be me? I like Seth and want to be with him. Why don’t you find a replacement for me?”

“Who and where can we get a replacement now? The car of the Ziegler family is going to be here soon!”

“Dad, Mom! I really don’t want to get married…” Yvonne bawled.

Amidst her shrill screams, a woman’s clear and loud voice abruptly spoke up. “If she doesn’t want to marry him, I will!”

Everyone in the living room quickly turned to look in the voice’s direction. The family of three then noticed a tall and slender figure standing in front of their front door. The person’s face was blurred due to the backlight from the sun outside.

When the figure walked toward them, they realized that it was a woman. She had a beautiful face – one that was very stunning but cold and distant. There was a chilly presence coming from her.

“Who are you?”

With much surprise, Harry sized her up. He could feel that she was familiar. However, he was sure that they did not know

each other.

“Mr. Lewis, you’re so forgetful, Caroline replied. “It’s only been five years. How can you not recognize your own daughter anymore?”

While Caroline was walking up to them, her black high heels made crisp clicking sounds across the floor. It seemed to pierce into the three’s hearts and intimidate them.

“You… Don’t tell me…” Harry faltered.

He stood up slowly and looked at Caroline with disbelief. The latter had changed so drastically, but her voice remained the

same.

“It’s her! It’s my daughter, Caroline! But didn’t she die in a fire that year?” Harry wondered.

Melissa recognized the woman’s voice as well. A frightened look shrouded her face as she asked. “Harry, could it be that she’s Caroline?”

“Caroline?” Yvonne repeated the name in utter shock.

Then, she thought, “But Caroline has been burned to ashes. How can she appear out of the blue after her death?”
