Alexa felt her World crumbling in front of her. All this while, she always supported her mates, hoping that someday she would make them love and trust her the way she did. She even stopped Adele from rejecting them because she believed in the mate bond, but it was all for nothing. Even after going through all these hardships, she got nothing in return. Alexa gritted her teeth and asked a final time, " Please just listen to me this one time, or I swear you are going to regret your decision.”

" I might regret it if I trust you. I won’t repeat the mistake my Dad did, ” Conan said with a blank face.

Tears rolled out of Alexa’s eyes, and she looked at Lex.

" I don’t know why you are doing this, Alexa. Did the witch brainwash you?” Lex asked skeptically.

Alexa was lost for words. She could feel her heart constricting against itself as it shattered into a million pieces. Even though they didn’t actually reject her, their lack of trust towards her was equivalent to them piercing a silver dagger straight to her heart. What had she done to deserve this? That was it. She was totally fed up. Fed up of always begging in front of her mates to believe in her. Fed up of trying to mend this bond which was formed by the Moon Goddess. Fed up of being the only one to put in the effort. The bubble had burst. She was a fool to believe that her love would be enough.

" You were right, Ade,” Alexa said sadly. " I wish I didn’t stop you from rejecting them. Now you have to suffer because of me.”

Alexa didn’t say anything to Conan and Lex; she just turned around and left. She was doomed. She frantically started searching for the moonstone when Adele asked, ” What the f**k are you doing, Al?”

" Looking for the damned stone.”

" W-Why?” Adele stuttered.

" You know why,” Alexa said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Adele stiffened. ” We can’t do that.”

" Well, do we have a choice,” Alexa spat. " I have to pay the price for keeping my hopes high.”

Adele was filled with dread when she recalled Sybil’s words. ” ...The best option would be to trap Samara with the power of three souls together to hold her inside the moonstone. Even a single soul can do that, but... the single soul has to sacrifice herself.”

" Sacrifice..? What do you mean?” Adele asked.

" Sacrifice as in she herself has to get trapped inside the moonstone to hold Samara inside,” Sybil said.

" What?” Adele asked, shocked. ” How does that work?”

" Samara’s spirit is very powerful. When you and your two mates would work together, a part of your souls would be transferred inside the moonstone that would keep her trapped. But when a single person would do that, a part of her soul wouldn’t be enough; her entire soul would have to go in.”

" Y-You mean if I try to trap her alone, I-I will have to stay with her in the moonstone to ensure she doesn’t come out,” Adele asked in dread.

" Yes, my child. It’s either you or your wolf.”

" What do you mean?” Adele asked, confused.

" Don’t forget you are a werewolf. You have two spirits in your body, one human and one wolf,” Sybil remarked.

Adele felt the color drain from her face. ” Are you insane?” she screamed without intending to.

" I know it’s hard, child, but it is what it is. Either three spirits shared together or one whole spirit. That’s the rule of the moonstone.”

" If it requires three spirits, then any three of us can do it, right?” Adele asked hopefully.

" You are forgetting an important point here; I had told you the three spirits must share a bond,” Sybil reminds her.

Adele looked like she was about to cry, and Sybil held her hand. ” Why do you worry, my child. The Moon Goddess has chosen you to have two mates, so your problem is almost solved.”

While Adele was thinking about her conversation with Sybil, Alexa interrupted her by saying, " The Moon Goddess has chosen us to have two mates, but those two mates do not want to choose us.”

Exactly, at that moment, Adele heard a blast and turned around to see Samara rising from her seat. ” Showtime’s over. I have given you enough time to fight among yourselves. Now it’s my turn to play. Who should I get rid of first? ” Samara looked at all the people gathered and asked, ” Ahhh...!! I know. Mr. Black... You are the biggest threat here.” She sent a ball of fire at Chris, but he dodged it at the right time. Liam tried to attack Samara, but she sent him flying back.

" We have to hurry,” Alexa said and started looking for the moonstone desperately.

Adele stopped herself and dropped to her knees, and cried her heart out. ” I can’t lose you, Al.”

" Ade, we have already discussed this; you can’t back out now.”

Axel, who was fighting a rogue, heard Adele’s cry and rushed towards her. ” Ade... Are you hurt?” He checked her around and saw that she was not hurt anywhere. ” Why are you crying here? Shouldn’t you be fighting alongside your mates to trap that witch?”

" They don’t trust me, ” Ade whispered in between her tears.

" What?? How can they not trust their mate?” Axel asked, appalled.

" My mates don’t love me; they never did, ” Adele couldn’t stop herself anymore.

" What the f**k are you saying?”

" Their opinion about mates is not like you. I have two mates, but they don’t want me. They don’t want a mate at all,” Adele choked up. ” A-Archer told Chris that I-I want to control Samara and Chris believes Archer but n-not me.”

Axel suddenly realized something. ” Is that the reason you asked Sybil for an alternate option? Because you had expected your mates not to trust you?”

Adele nodded.

Axel clenched his fist in anger. ” How can they do that to you? I will speak to them.”

" It’s no use; they wouldn’t listen to anyone. Alexa... she wants to...”

" No, Al. You are not doing anything like that,” Axel’s wolf Abel suddenly spoke up.

" I have no choice, brother,” Alexa replied.

" I will do it then; you don’t have to do anything,” Abel said with determination.

" What? Are you out of your mind?” Adele yelled. ” This has got nothing to do with you. It is related to the Black family, and I can’t let you sacrifice yourself for Chris’s mistake.”

" And I can’t let you lose your wolf, Ade. I know how much you love her,” Axel said.

" Then don’t you love your wolf? How will I face Daisy if something happens to you? No, I won’t let you do this.”

Axel then remembers about Trevor. ” Trevor... He can speak to Chris. Maybe Chris would believe Trevor’s words.” Axel leaves Adele and disappears within the crowd.

” Trevor might be able to convince Chris, ” Adele said hopefully.

" I hope so. In any case, we must look for the moonstone,” Alexa reminds her, and they continue their search.

Liam and Chris were in full battle with Samara, but neither of them was able to stop her. She was too strong, and she didn’t play fair.

Adele suddenly felt a searing pain through her abdomen, but when she checked, she was alright, and even the pain subsided after a few seconds. She wondered what that was when she felt a chill run down her spine. She turned around, searching for Chris and Liam and her doubts were right. Liam had a nasty cut on his abdomen, and he looked extremely weak and pale.

" They can’t hold Samara for long, Ade. We have to do something,” Alexa blurted out.

" Please wait for Trevor,” Adele pleaded.

Axel came running towards Adele and said, trying to control his breath,” T-Trevor is badly injured. Sera has given him the potion, but he is still unconscious.”

" What about Dalton?” Adele asked hopefully.

" I didn’t find him yet, but I am looking for him. You don’t do anything stupid. Wait for me,” Axel warned and left.

Adele felt another pain in her arm, and this time it was Chris who was hurt. Alexa couldn’t stop herself anymore and took total control over Adele’s body. " We have to do it now.”

Alexa spotted the moonstone among the bushes and picked it up. Suddenly she saw a vague silhouette of three people that looked foggy and shimmery. She could spot two men and a woman. " Who are you?” Alexa asked, confused.

" I am Christian Black,” the tallest man replied.

" Are you still alive? ” Alexa asked, shocked.

" No. We died long back, but a part of our spirit was in the moonstone, which got released today by my successor.” Christian glanced at Chris, who was battling with Samara. ” Our job is done, so now we can leave in peace.”

" I know what you are about to do, child,” the beautiful woman said to Alexa with a sad look. ” I wish it hadn’t come to that.”

" Alas, my successor is not a good mate like me,” Christian tried to make a joke to lighten the mood, but instead, it had the opposite effect on Alexa. She cursed her fate for getting such unworthy mates.

" Stop it, Christian,” his mate chastised him and looked back at Alexa. ” I am sorry, I won’t be of any help to you, but I have one piece of advice. Do not lose your hope in the Moon Goddess. When you feel you have lost everything, you pray to her in full faith, and she will surely help you.”

After that, the lady held one hand of each man, and they vanished into thin air.

Alexa clenched the moonstone in her palm and stared at Samara, ready to attack.

" Stop, Al. I don’t agree with you. If we have to sacrifice, then I will be the one to do it,” Adele sobbed, trying to regain her control back from Alexa.

" Are you insane, Ade? I am a wolf. My spirit won’t survive without your human body, but it’s not the case with you. Even if my soul is gone, you can survive as a human.”

" Once your spirit leaves my body, you will be reborn into some other werewolf’s body, ” Adele says, trying to convince her.

" I don’t want anybody else. I want you, Ade. If you give up your spirit, we are both dead, but if I give up my spirit, for now, maybe in the future I can come back into your body again.” Alexa didn’t believe it to be true, but she had to say something to convince Adele.

Adele was thinking about Alexa’s words. " So tell me, are you with me? I can’t do this alone, Ade.”

Adele was still reluctant when she felt someone strangling her. Samara was levitating Chris in the air and was choking him, but he managed to get out of her hold.

“Please, Ade. Samara will kill Chris. Do you want to see everyone die one by one?

Adele was continuously crying, and her tears didn’t seem to stop. She saw Samara attacking Chris again, and she was forced to make her decision. ” I will find a way to get you back. Please wait for me, Al.”

" I-I hope so,” Alexa choked up. " Promise me one thing.”

" W-What?”

" You will not reject them.”

" Are you still thinking about them?” Adele yelled in frustration.

" No, Ade. I am thinking about you, about us.”

Adele gave up control over her body, looking defeated.

" Tell Ian and Iris I love them,” Alexa expressed, imagining her pups. She had been with them only for a month. All her family members flashed in front of her eyes, and the thought of not seeing them again broke her. But she had to be strong; for the sake of her pups, her family, and her undeserving mates, she had to be strong. She then wiped her tears and stared at Samara with venom in her snow-white eyes. " I am coming for you, WITCH,” she growled and raced towards Samara.
