Tahlia calmly said, “Even flowers grown in a greenhouse have different species, and they don’t all last the same amount of time.” 

“I get it Dr. Lester said. 

Tahlia suddenly stopped and looked at Dr. Lester seriously. “Dr. Lester, I want to ask you a question and I hope you can answer me honestly” 

“That depends on the question. I won’t answer them all. Dr. Lester said. 

“I want to know why you all like Cornelia so much and want to protect her? I know I’m not as good as Nelly in many ways, but I haven’t done anything wrong. Why are you all so wary of me?” Tahlia said 

“Do you want the truth? Dr. Lester asked. 

“If not the truth, why would I even ask you?” Tahlia said. 

“Probably just intuition, I’m not sure about the exact reason. I remember when I first met Cornelia, I trusted her completely. She speaks in a gentle yet powerful way, it’s really convincing Dr. Lester explained. 

“I feel the same way about her. Even when I considered her a rival, I felt a strong urge to get close to her” Tahlia said. 

“Cornelia is really a likable girl, beautiful, smart. All the good adjectives can be used on her.” Dr. Lester said. 

Tahlia replied, “Although I think Cornelia is excellent, you’re kind of overdoing it.” 

“There might be another reason. Cornelia is Marc’s wife We work for Marc, so naturally, we have to treat his wife well. Dr. Lester added. 

Tahlia gave a bitter smile, “So, status is the most important thing after all.”
