His Favored Luna
Chapter 5

Autumn’s POV

I have seen Greyson riding this motorcycle so many times and I was always crushing on him. I tried to hide it, no one knew, at least I never admitted it to anyone. As much as he followed me, I followed him too, I think the only difference is that he never knew I was there, I could sniff his scent out when he went for runs, as an underage pup I wasn’t allowed in the woods by myself, only after I got my wolf was I allowed, but having no other kids my age to hang out with, I didn’t want to hang out with the younger pups, so I would follow the older ones to see where they were hanging out, I saw teens heading to the waterfall all the time and I watched how some of the girls would throw themselves at Greyson and how he would always steer them away. They would ask him to take them for a ride on his motorcycle and he wouldn’t let them. I was always so happy when he turned them all away. I have never seen him with a female in a romantic way. I can’t believe I am his mate, me, of all the pretty girls that the other wolves drooled over and he wouldn’t give them the time of the day, and it’s me that is chosen to be the Luna, I am still trying to wrap my mind around that.

We ride through the middle of the pack as they hear the alpha coming they begin to come out of their homes, a lot are heading to John’s house, what used to be my home, but I know Greyson will want me to move in with him now that we have discovered that we are mates. I assume that he has already put out a message that I am taken, most males do to claim their mate before another wolf hits on her. I am getting looks by the unclaimed She wolfs and I realize that I might as well get used to other women wanting what’s mine, some wanted just the power of being Luna and others just lusted after Greyson, he is something to look at for sure. I smile as my hold him tighter knowing that he is mine. He turns his head back over his shoulder with a grin. He knows I am proud to be seen with him, but what’s surprising is that he is proud to be seen with me.

We pull up into the driveway and I can see the house is already full of the pack members some out in the yard and some inside and others coming along behind us. Grey parks the motorcycle and gets off first then he turns to me and carefully lifts me off scooping me up with one arm under my knees and the other around my back. He is carrying me as if I was his bride to be carried over the threshold, he carries me up the porch steps and into the house everyone in the front room goes quiet as he sets me down on my feet. Whispers begin as we walk through as Grey holds my hand and then I hear them before I see them.

Sadie and Tabitha come running in to tackle me “Autumn! OMG Kitty kat! We have missed you so much!” I am being hugged and kissed on my cheek as my two best friends finally set eyes on me. They are both mated up I see as their mates aren’t too far behind them and I can see both of their marks. They don’t even notice the alpha at first standing at my side, but when they did they were blushing and addressed him “hello Alpha, we didn’t realize you would be here” he nods to them as they bow their head to him as the rest of the room had when we first came into the room. His Beta comes up and addresses me as the packs Luna, even though it is not official since Greyson and I haven’t mated yet, “Luna, I am sorry to interrupt, but if I can speak to the alpha alone, we have a situation” I nod my head and Grey leans in whispering into my ear to not go too far that he will be back soon for me, then he places a chaste kiss on the corner of my lips. My friends look at me with their mouths wide open and after Greyson leaves the pair of them pull me up into my room and force me to spill.

I tell them all about my afternoon and finding out that Grey is my mate. They both are ecstatic for me and are genuinely happy for me, they ask me all kinds of questions about how he treated me when we realized what was happening. I tell them all about how we talked about how I could sniff him out way before I even had my wolf and how impressed he was with that. I also told them how patient he is being with me although I couldn’t help but smile when I told them how good it felt to be in his arms and how good it felt when he kissed me. I smile and Tabitha says “I have never seen you so happy” I blush and say “he brought me here tonight on his motorcycle” Tabitha and Sadie both squeal. Sadie says “girl, you already have him wrapped around your finger, he is whipped before he even get some of that good stuff” we all laugh at her crass words.

We join the rest of the party and I catch eyes with Greyson as I come down the stairs. He is standing there with his Beta and after a moment he winks at me and gives me a seductive grin and Tabitha squeezes my arm and says “girl, he really is the cat’s meow” I know what she is insinuating and I blush everytime my friends make those sexual innuendos. She then asks me “you are going to let him mark you, right?” I look at her and say “eventually, like I said, we are taking it slow, getting reacquainted with each other, but the pull is there” he makes his way over to me and pulls me to his side, I ask him “Is everything okay? I mean with the pack?” Knowing I am referring to what the Beta had pulled him away for, he leaned and whispered in my ear. “I will tell you later, baby” he then kisses my cheek. I smile as others are watching us, it is pretty clear that we are together.

We make our way out to John who is manning the grill and he tucks ms into his side and he offers Greyson a handshake welcoming him, it is then that he realizes just how close his alpha is to me and I think it clicks and he looks to me “kitten?” I smile shyly at my surrogate father and say “the moon goddess has chosen me to be the Luna” and I shrug my shoulders. He looks at me with tears in his eyes and he pulls me into a hug and whispers how proud my parents would be. He reassures me that I am perfect for the job. He congratulates Greyson and asks if we plan on completing the mating process by the next full moon. Greyson says that he is giving me time to adjust to the idea of it all. I had forgot about the ceremony of the full moon, we only have ceremonies when we have new members of the pack to be introduced or when the pack has a new Luna or Alpha. It is usually held as a wedding of sorts for the Luna and Alpha, but it is done after the couple mates. It is a bit backwards from human traditions of marrying first then consummate on the wedding night, but we are animals and our bonds to each other are stronger than human bonds, they are attracted to each other, but they hardly ever find their soul mate only a select few believe in a one true love and human relationships are worse than some animals and they are supposed to be the better species.

We wolves are naturally superior, but the human race out numbers us and we have the ability to blend in and become a part of their society so we do for the most part, we work in their labor force, we shop in their stores, we contribute to the local community. Our Alphas from all packs usually work together with local government. Our pack owns a timber buisness and some other smaller businesses that the alpha is in charge of, he has to deal with licenses and permits and taxes and all the legality of it all, part of our territory is a natural wide life preserve that is a tourist attraction and only certain wolves are allowed to operate that section, we can’t have anyone shifting in front of tourists. As Luna my job would be to help the Alpha in all pack buisness and to be the emotional support for the pact. I would have the ability to sense others moods and help them with just a touch. Pack Lunas is considered the mother of the pack, nurturing and loving to all. I can do this, surely I can. I wonder when the next full moon will be.
