Girls Rule
Chapter 9: The Man

Ace

“There you go!” I smiled as I saw everyone kick the bags. “Good job!”

“Ace!” I heard Zylen yell.

I turned around and saw her and Colby running to me.

“What’s up?” I asked worried.

“We have a problem.” Colby said.

“What happened?” I asked.

“We both had the same dream last night.” Colby replied.

I growled. “Moon Goddess?”

“H-how did you know?” Zylen asked shocked.

“She visited my dream last night too. Told me that I didn’t truly reject Deacon because it’s not possible.”

“She said the same thing to me.” Colby nodded as she looked between me and Zylen.

“Then she proceeded to tell me that she is on Deacon’s side and that he will be here soon.” I said as I looked at everyone training. “We have to warn patrol.”

‘Alpha!’ April yelled through the link. ‘Dark Knight Pack is at the border. They aren’t stopping!’

“Too late.” Colby said.

I growled and everyone stopped training.

“Mike, Wes, Amber, Jake, and Patricia. Come with me.” I commanded. “Everyone else train.”

“Yes alpha!” They said as they got back to training.

“What’s wrong alpha?” Amber asked.

“Dark Knight is at the border. I need you guys to come with me.” I said.

“Yes alpha.” The mumbled as they nodded.

Once we got outside, we stripped down and shifted into our wolves.

The run to the border took about an hour and I saw my patrol talking to some members of the other pack.

I went behind a tree and shifted back.

“What do you guys want?” I asked as I walked up to them.

“Luna.” They said with a bow.

“I told you guys not to call me that!” I growled.

“A-alpha Deacon has a-asked for your p-presence.” The man stuttered as he looked down.

“Why?” Zylen asked.

“H-he wants to t-talk to you three.” He mumbled.

“About?” Zylen asked.

The man took a step over the border and he was immediately tackled by Amber.

She growled in his face and he narrowed his eyes at her

I smirked as Amber slowly got off of him and he crawled back on his side of the line.

“You shouldn’t have crossed the border.” Colby threatened. “We could have you killed for stepping on another alpha’s territory without permission.”

“Please. Just come back with us.” Another man pleaded.

“Fine.” I growled. “We need to end this. Deacon needs to know to leave all of us alone.”

“This better work.” Zylen said.

“Thank you alpha.” The man smiled as he looked relieved.

“Let’s go.” I said as I looked back at my group.

They nodded and followed us.

“Um I don’t think-”

“They are coming with us or I won’t go.” I said cutting off the man.

He gulped and nodded.

This is going to be an awkward walk.

“Now what?” I asked.

“Where is the alpha?” The man asked.

The other one shrugged. “I don’t know.”

“I knew this is was going to be a waste of my time.” I said as I walked back outside.

“Let’s go.” Colby said nodding.

“Y-you can’t leave alpha.” A man said as he stood in front of me.

“And why not?” I asked with a pointed look as I crossed my arms.

“The alpha gave us strict instructions to not let you leave once you got here.” Another man stated as he stood in front of us.

“You have got to be fucking kidding me.” Zylen growled as she glared at them.

“Watch us.” I said as I shoved them out of my way.

I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me back.

Wes growled and tackled the man.

“That’s it.” I growled as I faced them. “Fucking bring it.”

One man charged me and I jumped to the side.

Right as he flew by, I stuck my foot out and kicked his side.

Another one lunged at me.

I smirked and grabbed his leg.

His face held shock and I laughed as I tossed him aside.

He whimpered when he slid across the ground.

I was about to shift, but someone clapping stopped me.

‘Rogue.’ Ava growled.

“Ace.” Zylen said as she stared at the person behind me.

I turned around and gasped.

The man from my dream.

“My my Ace.” The man smiled. “You’ve grown up so much.”

I felt my heart clench as I stared in the eyes of the man responsible for my parents’ death.

“Lawson.” I growled.

“I’m touched. You remember me.” Lawson smiled.

“How could I not?” I said as I stood tall. “I remember that ugly face from anywhere.”

“You need to leave.” Colby said as she stood by my side along with Zylen.

“Colby. Zylen. Pleasure to see you girls again.” Lawson laughed.

“I wish I could say the same for you.” Colby growled.

“You girls have grown up so much since the last time I saw you. How old are you girls again?”

“That is none of your fucking business.” I heard Deacon say.

He growled and stood in front of me.

“Ahh. Alpha Deacon.” Lawson laughed. “I haven’t seen you in a long time either.”

“What do you want Lawson?” Deacon asked.

The girls and I looked at each other shocked.

‘How does Deacon know Lawson?’ Zylen asked.

‘I-I don’t know.’ I replied.

“Did Ace find a mate?” Lawson teased.

“Get off my land.” Deacon threatened.

I pushed Deacon aside and looked at Lawson. “What do you want?”

“Just wanted to see how you were doing. I haven’t checked up on you girls in a while.” Lawson shrugged.

“Okay. Now leave!” I growled as I clenched my fists.

Lawson smirked as he held up his hands. “I know when I’m not wanted. Ta ta.”

I watched as he shifted and bolted off into the woods.

“We should have killed him there!” I growled. “We need to go after him.”

I was about to shift again, but I felt someone grab my arm.

What is with people grabbing my arm? Damn!

I yanked my arm away when I felt the sparks.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“How do you know Lawson?” Deacon questioned.

“I was going to ask you the same thing.” I said.

“I think we need to talk.” Deacon mumbled.

I sighed. “I think you’re right.”
