Chapter 20: They're On The Same Team

“Seriously guys. We have to get out of here.” Colby stated in a rush.

I nodded. “Let’s go.”

We all ran out of the cellar but then we got blocked by a rogue.

Deacon growled and put me behind him.

I moved around him and stood there in shock.

“D-dad?” I asked as a tear dropped my from my right eye.

Ace

“Hey princess.” My dad said smiling at me.

“N-no.” I said shaking my head. “T-this can’t b-be happening. Y-you aren’t real.”

“Princess.” My dad smiled at me as he started to walk towards us. “But I am.”

“No!” I shouted as I closed my eyes and shook my head. “This is all just a dream. You aren’t real and Deacon never got captured. I want to wake up! I need to wake up!”

“What?” Colby and Zylen said together.

My dad sighed as he stopped right in front of us. “Colby. Zylen.”

“This isn’t real.” Colby said. “B-but you are dead.”

He shook his head. “That’s not true.”

“Yes it is!” I shouted.

"Shh...” He hushed as he wrapped his arms around me. “It’s true and I’m right here princess.”

I sobbed as I quickly wrapped my arms around him and held him close. “Y-you’re alive.”

My dad nodded as he kissed the top of my head. “That I am.”

“But how?” I asked as I wiped my tears and stepped back.

My dad opened his mouth and was about to speak, but someone came running over to us.

“Dad watch out!” I shouted as I pulled on his arm.

“Lawson.” Deacon snarled.

“Hey ugly.” Lawson smirked. “I’m not surprised that you got out.”

“Princess.” My dad chuckled. “It’s okay.”

“What?” I asked in confusion as my dad walked over to Lawson’s side.

“Lawson is on our side.” My dad simply said with a smile.

“Again. What?” I asked raising my voice. “He kidnapped Deacon and tried to kill us!”

My dad sighed. “Princess. He wasn’t trying to kill you.”

“Then what?” I asked as I threw my hands up in the air. “Did he want a fucking tea party?”

“No.” My dad laughed as he shook his head. “He was trying to bring you to me.”

“What do you mean?” I asked slowly and carefully.

“It was his mission Ace.”

“Mission?” Colby asked.

“Yes.” My dad nodded. “His direct order was to bring Ace to me unharmed. Took him a long though. Ace is quite the fighter.”

I probably looked confused as hell as my dad stood in front of me with that proud smile.

‘What the fuck is going on?’ Ava asked.

‘You tell me.’ I replied.

“So Lawson wasn’t trying to hurt me?” I asked.

“Of course not.” Lawson scoffed. “Why would I hurt the alpha’s daughter?”

Everyone stood there shocked at what Lawson just said.

Okay now I really want to know what’s going on.

To test this theory, I slowly walked up to Lawson.

“Ace!” Deacon growled.

I stood right in front of Lawson who was smiling at me. And poked him in the cheek.

“Ace.” Lawson laughed. “I’m not going to hurt you.”

“What. The. Fuck.” I said quietly as I scurried back to the girls and Deacon.

“Ace.” My father smiled. “It’s okay.”

“What the hell is going on?” I asked in a loud voice.

“I want you to join us Ace.” My dad smiled.

“Join you?” I asked. “What’s that suppose to mean?”

My dad sighed. “I should probably explain.”

“Uh ya think?” I stated.

“My wolf. He’s different from others. He craves power and I understand it.” My dad said proudly. “So we made a plan.”

“A plan?” Zylen asked.

He nodded. “I made a deal with Lawson and his group if he would help me out. He is now my beta. So we made a fake attack. He attacked our pack, faked my death, and got the hell out of there. But I suppose to grab you, but I couldn’t find you princess.”

“What the hell do you mean ‘you faked your own death’?” Colby asked.

“Good question Colby.” My dad smiled. “I wanted a stronger pack. My pack was going nowhere with training. So the plan was to kill everyone off and start fresh.”

“Mom?” I asked getting teared up.

“She.” My dad closed his eyes. “She wasn’t suppose to die. A rogue accidentally killed her when they were trying to grab you.”

“Accidentally?” I asked getting pissed. “She was fucking murdered in front of my eyes. They tore her apart! That was no fucking accident.”

“I know that!” My dad snapped. “I just didn’t want you to know that. I killed those rogues that killed her. They got too carried away with the mission. Fucking idiots.”

“So this whole fucking time, you have been alive, faked your death, and kill off your entire pack.” I stated.

My dad nodded. “I want you to join us Ace. I was saving the Third spot for you. Then you could work your way up to alpha and I’ll be your Third.”

“Are you serious?” I asked dumbfounded.

“Completely.” My dad replied with a straight face. “That’s why I killed everyone. To start fresh with you and your mother. Start a new pack. Get new fighters. Stronger ones. Our pack was weak.”

“And our parents?” Colby asked as a tear dripped down her cheek.

My dad scoffed. “Those bloody idiots. Your parents didn’t agree with my vision. So I had some rogues kill them while Lawson and I tried to find Ace. And you guys disappeared too.” My dad growled.

“You’re fucking insane!” Zylen shouted. “What did you think was going to come from this?”

“A stronger pack with better leadership.” My dad snapped. “To finally take down Deacon’s pack and kill anyone who went against us. Then keep working our way up.”

“You fucker.” Deacon growled.

“I’ve been called worse.” My dad smirked and shrugged his shoulders. “So what do ya say Ace? Wanna ditch these losers and join me?”

Is he seriously asking me that. Join my insane father and kill off my friends, my mate, my pack?

Hell no.

“No.” I said.

My dad’s smirk fell. “No?”

“No.” I said more confidently and held my head up high. “I’m not joining your little pack. You aren’t my father.”

“B-but Ace.” My dad stuttered.

“I said no.” I growled. “And that’s final.”

“I was really hoping it wouldn’t come to this.” He sighed.

“Come to what?” I asked nervously.

“Looks like I’m just gonna have to lock you up in your room until you agree.” He simply stated. “I am not killing my own daughter over something so stupid. You’ll come around.”

I stepped back in fear and gulped.

“So what do you want us to do alpha?” Lawson asked.

“Kill them all.” He commanded with a straight face and then turned straight to me. “But capture Ace unharmed and put her in her room and lock the door.”

“Yes alpha.” Lawson said as he turned towards us.

‘Attack!’ I yelled through the link.

I’m guessing Deacon said the same thing because I could see his pack members running out of the woods.

Lawson shifted and stayed next to my dad’s side.

“I was really hoping it wouldn’t come to this princess. But you leave me no choice.” My dad whispered sadly.

‘I’m not going anywhere with that insane motherfucker.’ Ava growled.

“Grab her. Carefully.” My dad commanded.

Lawson turned to me and lunged.

But before he could get to me, Lincoln jumped in the way and slammed into Lawson.

I gotta to remember to thank him later.

My dad growled and started to shift.

“Fuck.” I growled as I started to shift as well.

The girls and I took off running while Deacon fought with my dad to keep him away from me.

‘What are we gonna do?’ Colby asked.

‘Fight.’ I replied strongly.

‘What about your dad?’ Zylen asked.

‘Capture him and keep him locked up. I can’t kill my family. As much as Ava does, I just can’t.’ I sighed. ‘I know he deserves it, but he’s my dad. I can’t do it.’

‘Fair enough I guess.’ Zylen chipped in. ‘As long as he stays locked up forever.’

‘Deal.’ I mumbled.

Colby ran in front of us and killed a rogue before he reached us.

‘Thanks girl.’ I heard Zylen say through the link.

Colby winked.

‘Princess.’

I growled as I heard my dad link me. Since we are related and he isn’t dead, he can still link me.

Wish I would have known this sooner so I could have fixed his crazy mind.

‘No.’ I growled to him.

‘Just make it easy for the both of us and come to my pack house. I promise to call off the attack.’ He promised

I gave him a humorless chuckle. ’How about you make it easier for the both of us and turn yourself in. I’m not gonna kill you dad; I’ll just keep you in a cell for the rest of your life.′

‘Well that doesn’t sound like fun.’ I could practically hear him frowning.

But did I care? Of course not.

‘Doesn’t matter.’ I replied back and cut off the link.

The girls and I kept killing rogues that tried to grab me for a good forty-five minutes.

I growled as I spit out a chunk of flesh.

‘Clear on the north side.’ Lincoln said through the link.

‘Clear on the south side.’ I heard followed by a ‘clear on the east side.’

I watched as Colby took down the last rogue.

‘Clear on the west side.’ I said as I relaxed.

It’s over.

‘Ace!’ Zylen yelled.

Too late.

I let out a whimper as my right shoulder hit the ground.

I looked up and saw my dad’s wolf.

Deacon let out a growl and tackled him to the ground.

My pack members rushed to his side and helped keep my dad on the ground while my pack doctor injected him with a small dosage of wolfsbane.

I sighed as I rolled to my back and closed my eyes.

Now it’s over.
