Fentanyl E001: The Mysterious Experiment(Book 1)
Chapter 27: Unraveling the Past

Nisha's Point of View

I stared at the strewn-about bodies, my gaze fixated on the grim scene before me. The room was filled with the lifeless forms of various individuals, victims of the heinous act committed by a godforsaken devil. The air was heavy with a mix of fear and despair, and an eerie laughter echoed through the room, seemingly emanating from a hidden speaker. But I couldn't be bothered to search for its source; my attention was entirely consumed by the horrifying sight.

Suddenly, Shawn's voice cut through the tense atmosphere, his concern evident as he called my name, "Nisha."

My fist clenched instinctively, rage and sorrow intertwining within me. Some of the injured groaned in pain, their heartbeats telling a grim tale of their impending fate. I knew their chances of survival were slim, and it weighed heavily on my mind. But there was no time for grief; we were facing a formidable group of opponents, and despite being outnumbered, we were ready to give it our all in the impending battle that could stretch into the night or even the morning.

I scanned the surroundings, taking in the determined faces of the others. We all knew we were at a disadvantage, but we stood prepared to fight with every ounce of strength we could muster. Mr. Shon, our leader, was nowhere to be found, likely hiding in the safety of the laboratory building. His absence infuriated me; he was a coward, more interested in observing the unfolding chaos than standing alongside his team.

As we readied ourselves for the challenging conflict ahead, the gravity of the situation sank in. The bodies of our fallen comrades served as a haunting reminder of the stakes involved. But with a collective resolve, we steeled ourselves for the fight, knowing that our lives and the lives of those who had already fallen demanded that we face the devilish perpetrators head-on.

As I took a step forward, my comrades promptly assumed their positions, their nervousness palpable, but their determination to fight was evident. The tension in the room heightened as Mr. Shon addressed the speaker with defiance, expressing his refusal to back down from the fight for his beloved son and making a demand for what was rightfully his. His words irritated me, and I clenched my teeth in frustration.

"Foolish coward!" I hissed, unable to contain my anger at Mr. Shon's attempt to negotiate with our enemies.

Before we could fully engage in the battle, a truck suddenly appeared behind me, grinding to a halt and catching all of our attention. It bore the name "Red-In-A01," the ominous organization we were up against. As the back of the truck opened, a hundred people emerged, dressed uniformly in simple crimson attire with their faces obscured. Their intimidating presence and preparedness for combat sent a chill down our spines.

They were an imposing force, and it was clear that the situation had taken an even more dangerous turn. The odds were stacked against us, but we had no choice but to stand our ground and face this new threat head-on. With grim determination, we prepared ourselves for what would undoubtedly be a grueling and deadly battle with Red-In-A01.

I was taken aback, my mind struggling to process the unexpected turn of events as all the members of Red-In-A01 knelt down in front of me, speaking in unison, "Sorry, we're late."

Stunned and confused by their sudden change in demeanor, my thoughts momentarily went blank. But as Mr. Shon's voice pierced through the momentary haze, I snapped back to reality.

"Damn it!" he shouted, clearly displeased with the situation. "Don't just stand there! Attack!" Mr. Shon's men, oblivious to the shift in Red-In-A01's stance, were still ready to engage us under his command. Reacting quickly, Shawn pushed me away from the confrontation, and I stepped back, allowing our opponents to confront Mr. Shon's forces directly.

Gunfire erupted with a deafening bang, and the clash of swords and shields echoed through the room. Blood spilled on the ground as the intense battle unfolded before us.

"Let's not waste any time. We should go find Grandpa," Shawn suggested, and I nodded in agreement.

With a sense of urgency, we decided to leave the chaotic scene behind and focus on our primary goal.

I even saw their fight ready to kill simply for Ottawa City as I glanced at them. They are battling for the lives of those who have died.

Returning my focus to the front, we pressed on towards the laboratory building. However, upon reaching the main entrance, we were confronted by a group of Mr. Shon's men who had positioned themselves strategically to protect the door. It was evident that they were skilled fighters and not to be underestimated.

Without hesitation, they launched their attack as soon as they saw us. One of them swiftly charged towards me, throwing his blade in my direction. Reacting swiftly, I knelt down to evade the weapon, which narrowly missed me and clattered to the ground.

Seizing the opportunity, I retaliated immediately. As he approached, I kicked his leg, but to my surprise, he remained unfazed. Enraged by his resilience, I leaped high and landed a powerful kick to his head with my right foot. Before he could recover, I swiftly kicked his back, causing him to cry out in agony and lose his balance, tumbling to the ground.

I turned to face him, ready for any counterattack. Though he stumbled, he slowly attempted to stand up, refusing to give in. Not willing to let him recover fully, I wasted no time and swiftly stabbed his heart with the poison blade. His breath seemed to falter, and it was clear that the poison was taking its toll.

The immediate threat neutralized, we continued our advance towards the laboratory building, knowing that more challenges and dangers awaited us.

Another opponent swiftly approached, and I managed to evade his attack, although my hair suffered some damage in the process. Before I turned to face him, I quickly trimmed my hair to avoid any hindrance in the fight. His movements were lightning fast, a clear indication of his formidable skills as a fighter. It was evident that Mr. Shon had given him exceptional training.

He lunged at me again with his sword, and I leaped to avoid the strike but stumbled upon landing. Without wasting any time, I struck him in the face, but to my frustration, it had no effect, and he smirked in response.

"Damn you!" I cursed, growing more irritated by his seemingly unaffected demeanor.

He remained unresponsive to my words and launched another attack. This time, I failed to defend myself, and his sword struck my arm, drawing blood despite there being no visible wound. It was as if he knew about my unique condition but chose not to acknowledge it.

He then attempted to stab me in the chest once more, but I was determined not to let him succeed. Summoning all my strength, I caught his blade between my palms and drove it into the ground, enduring excruciating pain as I did so. As he applied more pressure, I struggled but managed to keep him at bay. Utilizing every ounce of strength, I retaliated by kicking his legs and swiftly restraining him with the small chains I had in my pocket. Pulling the chains tighter, I noticed that holding onto his sword had weakened his resistance slightly.

Though the battle was far from over, I refused to back down. Pain and determination fueled my actions as I fought to gain the upper hand against this skilled opponent, keeping my focus on the larger goal of finding the old man and putting an end to the conflict.

As my palms pulled together, the chain around the opponent's neck tightened, causing him to gasp for breath. I averted my gaze, unwilling to witness what I knew I had to do next. With a swift and decisive action, I chopped off his head, ending the confrontation. Though it was a necessary act in the heat of battle, it weighed heavily on my conscience.

Turning away from the scene, I saw Shawn squatting down, trying to catch his breath. The fight had taken its toll on both of us. Facing such well-trained adversaries was proving to be an arduous task, and we had to remain resilient to survive.

"Let's go," I whispered softly, leading Shawn away from the grim sight. As he regained his composure, he moved away from me slightly, preparing himself for whatever lay ahead.

We proceeded into the structure, finding a disarray of broken equipment and blood-stained surroundings. The chaos and suffering of others were still apparent, but we knew we couldn't intervene at the moment. The new organization's intervention had seemingly shifted the dynamics, earning them the trust of some within the conflict.

"Which room is it?" Shawn inquired, looking to me for guidance. I could only shrug in response, not having a clear answer myself.

"It can be found anywhere. I'm aware that Mr. Shon is present. Because he's a coward, he always hides with his shadow. Please don't abandon me," I muttered, sharing my thoughts with Shawn, who nodded in understanding.

"All right," he said, his commitment to our mission unwavering.

With renewed determination, we ascended to the second level of the laboratory, scouring each room in search of Mr. Shon. As we approached the third floor, I suddenly recognized a familiar voice, causing me to come to a halt.

"What's the matter?" Shawn asked, but I was too focused on my heightened hearing abilities, which confirmed the voice once again.

"Nisha, kill me. This isn't me anymore. I want you to assassinate me," the voice pleaded, and my eyes widened in shock.

"Kimeniah," I grumbled, recognizing the voice.

"What are you talking about?" Shawn inquired, clearly hearing the voice as well.

"Kimeniah has come back to life! Let's get started! She requires our assistance," I whispered to Shawn, my heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and fear.

I dashed to the fourth floor as quickly as I could, fueled by the urgency to find Kimeniah. Shawn called after me, but I paid no attention, solely focused on reaching our friend. Unperturbed by the fact that Kimeniah might be on the third floor, I was certain she was on the fourth. Mr. Shon was not with her.

Upon hearing her breathing emanating from a room, I wasted no time and burst through the door. The sight that greeted me immediately drained the energy from my body.

Kimeniah lay on a hospital bed, dressed in a yellow outfit, her hands chained together. The sight was heartbreaking, as it was evident that she was in a critical condition. Despite her dire state, she smirked as she stared at us.

Feeling a mix of frustration and sadness. It was as if she was mocking me for believing her to be gone. I shook my head, refusing to accept that she was beyond help. I knew she was still alive but under some form of control.

As I looked into her eyes, I noticed a subtle change in her appearance. Her gaze softened, hinting at the real Kimeniah trapped within. The situation was complex, and I knew that our task to free her from whatever held her captive was far from simple. But I was determined to do whatever it took to save my sister, even if it meant facing unimaginable challenges and uncovering dark secrets hidden within the walls of this laboratory.

"Please put an end to my life. I've been through too much," Kimeniah pleaded, her voice filled with despair. Despite her plea, I couldn't bring myself to agree with her.

"Kimeniah, there's another way," I insisted, trying to offer her a glimmer of hope. Tears welled up in her eyes as she glanced at me, torn between her suffering and the possibility of a different path.

"There isn't a ray of optimism in sight. Something has been placed on me. Now I'm a monster. It won't take long for me to lose control of myself. I'm going to turn into a monster," she explained, convinced of her impending fate. Still, her words didn't sway me.

Before I could respond, a sinister chuckle broke the moment, and both Shawn and I turned to face the source. Mr. Shon stood at the door, wearing a malevolent grin. Instantly, rage surged within me, knowing that he was behind Kimeniah's torment, chaining her against her will.

"Please..." Kimeniah's plea resonated again, but I couldn't comply with her desperate request to end her life. I wouldn't be a part of such a dark choice.

"Nisha, there are no other options," Mr. Shon spoke emphatically, attempting to justify his actions, but I simply gazed at him, the fire of determination burning in my eyes. I refused to accept his cruel logic and was prepared to find a way to free Kimeniah from his control and end this nightmare once and for all.

As I shifted my focus to the newcomer, I recognized him as "Daddy Truce," as I called him. He, too, was dressed in crimson, leading me to realize that he was a member of the Red-In-A01 group. It was a startling revelation, and I told myself to stay cautious.

Mr. Shon's feigned surprise at the revelation did not escape my notice, and his mocking tone only fueled my determination.

"Does Truce happen to be your father?" he taunted, trying to provoke a reaction from me.

I hesitated for a moment, not giving him the satisfaction of an immediate response.

"I had no idea the Red-In-A01 genius had a daughter named Nisha."
