Fentanyl E001: The Mysterious Experiment(Book 1)
Chapter 12: Confronting the Past

Third Person's Point of View

I could scarcely believe what I was hearing and witnessing. The individuals gathered around the round table were part of a dangerous and merciless organization. They seemed to be plotting an ambush on Ottawa Clint High School, with the boss calmly ordering the destruction of the school and its innocent students.

My heart raced with a mix of fear and anger as I listened to their callous plans. They were willing to harm young lives, including the innocent ones, and showed no remorse in their intentions. The man leading them seemed more like a ruthless commander, with his glass of wine in hand and an air of authority.

My instincts told me that I needed to do something to stop this impending disaster. I couldn't let them carry out their sinister plot and harm innocent students. But at the same time, I was filled with uncertainty and fear. Who were these people, and how did I become entangled in all of this?

As the meeting concluded, the men left the room, bowing in unison to their leader. I remained hidden, trying to process what I had just witnessed. It was clear that I had stumbled upon something dangerous and far-reaching. I knew I had to act, but I had to be careful. My newfound strength and determination were both a gift and a burden, as I now had a responsibility to protect those I cared about and uncover the truth behind this dark organization.

Just before turning on the television, the boss was sipping his wine. As he tapped the table, the sound reverberated across the room, indicating that he was counting down until the trap was set.

About an hour later, news came in that the ambush had taken place at Ottawa Clint High School, and the building was now engulfed in flames. The attack was chaotic, involving a large number of students, but the black-clad assailants who orchestrated the ambush were well-coordinated and seemed to have received special training.

The aftermath of the attack was devastating, with numerous lifeless bodies scattered around the school grounds. The boss knew that some of the students had been transformed into something dangerous and deadly due to the mysterious Fentanyl Experiment.

"Let the war begin," the man uttered quietly before breaking into a devilish grin.

Only he was aware of how many students from Ottawa Clint High had turned into monsters as a result of the sinister experiment. The situation was now escalating into a full-blown conflict, with the innocent students caught in the crossfire of a dark and dangerous conspiracy.

Nathalie's Point of View

I was taken aback by the familiar voice calling my name - Nisha. It was a voice I recognized, but it seemed different, filled with tears and fear. I wondered if Nisha had heard the news of the ambush and come to find us. But I knew she couldn't accomplish it, not on her own.

As I looked around, trying to locate Nisha, I suddenly felt a force pushing me down onto the lawn. It was as if someone had intentionally knocked me off my feet. Swirling emotions and panic overwhelmed me as I tried to make sense of what was happening.

Amidst the chaos, I heard someone exclaim, "Oh, fuck! Let's get started! This is a disaster!" It was clear that things were rapidly spiraling out of control, and I knew I had to find Shawn. He might have the answers I needed to make sense of everything.

As I attempted to get up and search for Shawn, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread when I saw the knife where I had been standing moments ago. It was a haunting sight, reminding me of a past battle two years ago. The memories flooded back, and I feared that history might be repeating itself.

With my heart pounding, I pushed myself to my feet and ran off to find Shawn. I needed to uncover the truth behind this unfolding catastrophe and protect those I cared about from the dangerous forces at play.

As Shawn, and I ran towards my car, a follower of Tito Shione was right beside us. My heart raced, and I felt a surge of fear and anxiety. We needed to get out of there as quickly as possible, but the situation was rapidly escalating.

When Shawn screamed that it had already begun, I knew we were in grave danger. The RED-IN-A001 ORGANIZATION's genius was after us, and it was clear that time was running out. I tried to maintain my composure, but my sweat and nerves made it challenging.

I asked Shawn who the genius was, but there was little time to elaborate. As we ran, the memories of the past, the battle from two years ago, came rushing back. We were once again fleeing for our lives, desperately trying to escape the clutches of our enemies.

Shawn urged me to run faster, as the place was on the verge of destruction. We couldn't let Nisha down, and we had to get to her as soon as possible. Despite being out of breath, we pushed ourselves forward until we reached the car.

With no time to spare, Shawn swiftly started the car, and we sped away towards Ottawa's Green University. Our minds were filled with a mix of fear, determination, and the need to protect those we cared about. The danger was real, and we had to find a way to overcome it and face the RED-IN-A001 ORGANIZATION's genius head-on.

As we continued driving towards Ottawa's Green University, I couldn't help but be puzzled by Nisha's voice. She had been heard before, and now she was crying and yelling. It seemed unusual for her to be in this situation, and I couldn't understand what had gone wrong.

I turned to Shawn for answers, hoping he might have some insights. However, he seemed just as baffled as I was. He mentioned that Nisha was my dormmate and had likely seen what was on TV, but that didn't explain how her voice was being heard. The situation was becoming increasingly confusing and distressing.

When Shawn asked about the structure of the organization and who had taken his sister's place after she went missing, my mind raced with questions. It was shocking to learn that Shawn's sister had her own secret business, operating outside of the Peur Organization's guidelines. She had advised us to trust the next leader, but now it seems that this new leader was causing harm.

Scarlet, Shawn's sister, had never mentioned the name of the following mastermind or why they chose the name Red-In-A001 for their organization. It all added to the mystery surrounding the unfolding events and the dangerous adversaries we were facing.

As we approached Ottawa's Green University, I couldn't help but feel a mix of anxiety and determination. We had to find a way to navigate through the chaos and confront the danger that lay ahead. It was clear that we were facing a formidable foe, but we couldn't let fear paralyze us. We had to stay strong and united, trusting in each other to uncover the truth and protect those we cared about.

"I'm enraged because I don't know who has usurped her kingdom. I'm quite sure we're not in on it, and they had no idea that we would be saved there," I expressed my frustration. The situation was becoming increasingly convoluted, and I couldn't shake off the feeling of being manipulated.

Shawn's driving was quick, and I understood why. We needed to act fast and stay one step ahead of our adversaries. As we approached the University of Ottawa, I couldn't help but remember Nisha, who was now a student there, seemingly unaware of the unfolding events.

"Nisha had something else to hide as well. We'll need to find out what it is. She's suddenly a complete enigma. I can't read her mind anymore, and she appears to be aware of what I'm capable of," he said, clenching his fists in frustration and confusion. It seemed like everything was falling apart, and the people we thought we knew were now shrouded in mystery.

As we arrived at the University of Ottawa, the tension in the air was palpable. There was so much we didn't understand, and I was determined to uncover the truth behind Nisha's actions and the identity of the new leader who had taken over Shawn's sister's organization.

But before we could delve into that, we had to focus on the immediate danger and the urgent task at hand. The Red-In-A001 organization was still a formidable threat, and we had to be prepared for whatever awaited us. As we stepped out of the car, I steeled myself for what lay ahead and vowed to protect those I cared about, even in the midst of this chaotic and confusing situation.

We rushed back to the dorm together, not minding the curious gazes from other students. They were unaware of the danger that loomed outside the campus, as our dorm was the only one with a television, keeping us informed of the ongoing situation. The others had someone to assist them with their needs, sparing them from venturing outdoors.

As we entered the room, Shawn's urgent call for Nisha brought me back to reality. There, on the floor, sat Nisha, holding a knife and bleeding heavily from her wrist. The sight sent shivers down my spine, and I felt a cold sensation envelop me. She seemed distant, as if she was in a different world, barely acknowledging our presence.

"Nisha..." Shawn's voice was gentle as he addressed her, trying to reach out to her in her distress. I wanted to move closer, to help her, but I felt paralyzed, unable to break free from where I stood.

The room felt suffocating, and my mind was filled with questions and concern. What had happened to Nisha? Why was she hurting herself? The enigma surrounding her seemed to grow deeper, and I desperately wanted to understand what was going on.

Shawn's attempt to console Nisha was met with resistance, and I could see the pain and worry in his eyes. We needed to help her, to find a way to break through the barriers she had put up. But the situation was delicate and complex, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were in the midst of a dangerous trap. Nonetheless, I knew that we couldn't turn away from someone in need, especially when it was our dear friend, Nisha.

"I can't kill myself."

As Nisha whispered her distressing words, admitting that she couldn't bear the thought of harming herself, my heart sank. I felt tears welling up in my eyes, overwhelmed by the weight of the situation. I wanted to help her, to offer comfort and support, but I was at a loss for what to do.

Shawn seemed just as concerned, trying to make sense of the blood without any apparent injuries. Nisha's mind was in turmoil, and she couldn't understand what was happening to her. It was evident that something was seriously wrong, and we needed to find a way to help her.

"Nisha, we're here for you," Shawn spoke gently, his voice filled with care and concern. "We'll figure this out together. You're not alone in this."

I nodded in agreement, feeling the need to be strong for Nisha, even though my own fears and worries were bubbling to the surface. We couldn't ignore the strange events that had unfolded in Ottawa City, the ambush, and the mysterious organization. It was all connected, and I knew that facing our fears and confronting the truth was the only way forward.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to steady myself. We couldn't let fear paralyze us. We had to be brave and determined to uncover the truth, not only for Nisha's sake but for all the innocent lives at stake.

"Let's face this together," I said, my voice wavering but filled with resolve. "We'll find the answers we need, and we won't back down."

With our determination and unity, we would confront the darkness that surrounded us and unravel the mysteries that threatened our lives and the lives of others. It was a daunting journey ahead, but we were not alone, and together, we would forge a path to bring light to the darkness that enveloped Ottawa City.

Nisha's Point of View

"Save the questions for a later day. Let's go to the clinic, shall we?" Shawn's voice reached my ears, and I slowly released my grip on the knife, feeling frustrated and confused.

"That's not how I want to be treated, Shawn! I need answers! Who am I now? What exactly am I?" I blurted out, my heart racing with fear and uncertainty. The situation I was in was overwhelming, and I felt like I was losing control of myself.

Earlier, I had heard a mysterious voice commanding me to obtain a knife and cut my pulse. It had frightened me, and I was hesitant at first, but I found myself unable to resist. Trembling with fear, I had made the cut, yet there was blood without any visible injury. It was a terrifying experience, leaving me with more questions than answers.

"Nisha, please..." Shawn's pleading voice tugged at my heartstrings, making me realize the gravity of the situation. I was terrified of what I might become, scared that I might be a mutant with the power to harm others. If I could harm myself, what was stopping me from hurting someone else unintentionally?

Tears streamed down my face as I grappled with these thoughts and fears. I didn't want to be a danger to anyone, and I certainly didn't want to cause harm to others. I tried to convince myself that I was okay, that I could control whatever was happening to me, but deep down, I knew I was scared and uncertain.

"Shawn, answer me," I'm pleading as well. "A-am I a monster?" Tears streamed down my cheeks once more, and I began to stagger. It's too much for me. I'm not quite prepared for the truth. I have an idea, but I can't just tell about it. My system refuses to accept the idea, which I despise.

"Nisha, you're not a monster," Shawn replied gently, trying to reassure me. "We don't fully understand what's happening yet, but we'll figure it out together. Right now, let's focus on getting you cleaned up."

"I'm sorry."

As I stared at the blood flowing down the concrete, Nathalie's voice broke through, apologizing for something. I turned to her, finding her face strangely familiar, yet I couldn't recall where I had seen her before. The chaos in my mind made it difficult to grasp any memories, and it frustrated me.

I didn't pay much attention to Nathalie and Rebecca. Taking care of myself was my priority, so I left Shawn in the kitchen preparing food and went to my room without bothering him.

After cleaning up the mess I had made, I stepped outside and saw Rebecca comforting Nathalie with a gentle tap on her back. They seemed to be having a heartfelt moment. Rebecca smiled at me as I passed by, and I quickly made my way to the kitchen.

"Later, let's go to the backyard. You need to take a deep breath and relax," Shawn suggested, breaking the silence between us. I simply nodded in response, appreciating his concern and willingness to support me.

As we finished preparing the food, we sat down to eat quietly. Rebecca and Nathalie were in the living room, and I sensed their understanding and respect for my need for space.

I continued to eat, not minding their presence, and observed that they, too, were quietly enjoying their meals. The atmosphere was heavy with unspoken emotions, but I could feel a sense of unity and support among us.

In the back of my mind, I knew that something was going to change. The events of the day had altered everything, and we were standing at the threshold of a new reality.

Shawn and I sat side by side on the lawn, both of us silently gazing at the sunset. My mind was cluttered with thoughts, yet strangely, a sense of peace washed over me as the gentle breeze caressed my face. But I knew that this tranquility was only temporary, and I couldn't escape the inevitable truth that loomed over me. Death, monsters, and the haunting chains of my past all seemed to be closing in on me, and no matter how hard I tried to run, I felt trapped.

Out of the blue, Shawn broke the silence and asked if I had any questions. I replied in a hushed tone, admitting that I had plenty of questions, but I was terrified of facing the reality they might reveal. He pulled me closer, wrapping his arm around my waist, and I rested my head on his back. His presence brought comfort and eased my exhaustion, and for a moment, I forgot about the fear that gripped me.

"There's no avoiding the truth. You have to embrace it, no matter how difficult it may be," he said with a heavy sigh.

Closing my eyes, I took in his familiar scent and found solace in his presence. With him by my side, I felt a sense of reassurance, and it gave me the courage to confront the unknown. Perhaps I had been trying to run from the truth for too long, and now it was time to face it head-on.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, I knew that this was just the beginning of a journey filled with challenges and revelations. But with Shawn's support, I was ready to uncover the answers to my questions and confront the past that had haunted me for so long.

"Are you prepared to respond to that question?" I asked with my eyes still closed.

"That's not what you should be seeking. I will be the one asking the question. Are you ready to fight for it?" Shawn's response made me open my eyes, leaving me speechless. "Your silence tells me you're not yet prepared. Come back to me with a new question," he continued, trying to comfort me. As memories about him flooded my mind, I took a deep breath. It was up to me to uncover the truth.

"How do you read people's minds, Shawn? I know you're not like the rest of us," I inquired, feeling a bit uneasy. I was ready for him not to respond, but when he did, I gasped in horror.

"I've even been part of the experiment before. I was part of the failures," Shawn admitted with a hint of regret in his voice.
