Fentanyl E001: The Mysterious Experiment(Book 1)
Chapter 11: Veil of Shadows: Unraveling the Truth

Nisha's Point of View

I listened quietly to the lecture and kept an eye on the man who had bumped into me earlier. He seemed to be searching for something, and I was pretty sure it was the paper I had found. I had tucked it away safely in the back of my handbag, with no intention of letting anyone know about it. I didn't want to cause unnecessary panic, especially since I wasn't sure what was going on yet.

As the lecture continued, I couldn't help but think about Shawn and his abilities. Something told me he had a unique gift, possibly the ability to read minds. I wondered how it happened and how he managed to do it. It was a mystery that intrigued me, and I made a mental note to ask him about it later.

When the bell rang, signaling the end of the class, I stood up along with the other students. It was a peculiar class indeed. Everyone was acting appropriately, and there was none of the usual chatter that one might expect from students. They were all silent and attentive, listening to the advisor who had been giving the lesson.

"Alright, class dismissed. See you all tomorrow," the teacher announced. Some of the students began packing their belongings. We always had half-day sessions, which I appreciated as it gave me ample time to prepare for everything. Only a few pupils were still lingering in the classroom, and among them was Bryan Custodio. While he stayed inside, I calmly observed him. He usually searches for some useless piece of paper, but not this time. I wondered who had instructed him to do that and who might be the mastermind behind it. I've been trying to get closer to him to learn more about him. Perhaps Shawn might know something about Bryan. I could ask him casually and leave him with a hint of suspicion. Frankly, I don't care much.

Now, there were only three of us left - Bryan, the class president, who was responsible for locking the classroom, and me. Maybe she's just waiting for us to leave. I shook my head with a grin, expressing my dissatisfaction with the situation. I thought of waiting outside for Bryan. I gathered my belongings, preparing to head out.

I stood in the corridor, patiently waiting for Bryan. When he finally emerged, I immediately approached him. He seemed taken aback at first, but his expression quickly shifted to one of pain. It was evident that he was apprehensive and troubled, and I couldn't help but wonder why.

"Hey Bryan!" I greeted him with a smile, trying to put him at ease. However, he was trembling, which only heightened my concern. Was he truly in serious trouble?

"H-hello," he stuttered in response to my greeting. It was clear from his expressions that he wasn't comfortable around me at the moment. Perhaps he knew I was close to Nathalie, and that made him uneasy. I could sense his vulnerability, and I suspected that someone might have threatened him to find something or do something, suggesting dire consequences if he didn't comply. I let out a deep sigh and shook my head, feeling a mix of frustration and sympathy for him.

"Are you alright?" I asked Bryan with a suspicious tone in my voice. He scratched his head before nodding.

"I'm not sure where I put it. I don't want to lose my family," he explained hurriedly, continuing to walk away. This revelation stopped me in my tracks, and a surge of anger rushed through me. What did he mean? Was his family being held hostage, and his adversary was using them as leverage to manipulate him into doing something against his will? But what about the voices in my head? Why were they getting louder and more overwhelming? I instinctively covered my ears, trying to drown out the noise. The cacophony of voices became unbearable, and my head started throbbing with pain.

"AAAAAAHHHH!" I screamed even louder, completely disregarding the other pupils who had halted to watch. The earache felt excruciating, and I could sense blood coming out. I desperately wanted it to stop. It was maddening, almost as if I was trapped in hell.

I'm hearing a variety of yells. The crowd was weeping, not just yelling. I'm so comfortable with this scene. I'm unable to think clearly. What the hell happened to me? I can hear the explosion and see the blood and bodies. I closed my eyes and took a long breath. No, no, no. I'm supposed to put an end to this. This is going to irritate me to no end!

My erection has morphed into a seated position. I felt the cold of the concrete, and I noticed that many people were interested in me. I'm not sure what's wrong with me.

I've found that my feelings are gradually returning to normal. Something inside of me is circulating in my bloodstream, slowly murdering my body.

As I slowly opened my eyes, I heard the desperate cries for help still echoing in my mind. The chaos seemed to have subsided, and the voices in my head had finally quieted down.

"Nisha!" The familiar voice called my name again. It was the same girl who had shaken me awake. Despite her efforts, I couldn't shake off the disorientation. The students around me were talking and whispering, but I felt detached and indifferent to their gossip.

"Are you okay?" she asked with concern, shaking my arm gently. I tried to focus on her face, trying to recognize who she was. Her fragrance was distinctive, and it triggered some faint memories, but I couldn't place her.

With her attention on me, I couldn't help but notice another student who seemed to be observing me with icy disdain. She was new to me, and I wondered if there was something about me that she disliked. As I stared back at her, she rolled her eyes in response. Before she walked away, I heard her muttering something under her breath, and I was certain it was directed at me.

Confused and shaken, I tried to gather my thoughts and make sense of the situation. But the memories and voices from before were still jumbled in my mind, and I couldn't grasp what had truly happened. I needed to find some answers, but right now, I was grateful for the presence of the girl who had woken me up, as she seemed to be the only one genuinely concerned about my well-being.

As Keyshaa held my hand, her concern was evident, and she insisted on taking me to the clinic. However, I gently pulled my hand away and steadied myself to stand up on my own.

"I appreciate your concern, Keyshaa, but I think I just need some rest in my room. I'll be fine," I assured her, trying to sound as convincing as possible. She seemed worried but eventually nodded, accepting my decision.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" she asked once more, seeking reassurance. I nodded again, trying to push aside my own worries about Bryan for the moment. There was something intriguing about the woman who had rolled her eyes at me earlier, and I wanted to find out more about her and the reason for her anger.

As I walked back to my dorm, I couldn't shake off the lingering unease and confusion about what had just happened. It was the first time such an experience had occurred to me, and I couldn't understand why it had happened or what it meant for me.

The voices in my head kept haunting me, their pleas for help echoing in my mind. I felt their emotions, their fear, pain, and anger, as if they were a part of me. It was overwhelming, and I wished I could do something to ease their suffering. However, I knew deep down that they were from the past, and there was nothing I could do to help them.

Feeling powerless, I couldn't help but wonder if I could ever be a regular person again. What had caused this sudden shift in my consciousness? Something inside of me that had been dormant for years seemed to have awakened, and I was grappling with its effects.

I decided I needed some time alone to reflect on what had happened and try to make sense of it all. Perhaps by delving into my past and the reasons behind this awakening, I could find some answers. But for now, I needed to focus on grounding myself and finding ways to cope with this newfound aspect of my being.

As I entered our dorm, I was surprised to find the main door closed. I expected Nathalie to be inside, and if she was, she usually left the door unlocked. I took out my key and unlocked the door. Stepping inside, I noticed that everything in the living room remained unchanged. However, I had a feeling that something was amiss, that something significant was happening, and they were on their way to achieve their goals.

Deciding to wait for Nathalie, I made my way to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat. I found a clubhouse sandwich, canned juice, pork, and rice. Feeling indifferent, I opted for the canned juice and poured it into a glass. While standing in front of the refrigerator, I noticed a message that caught my attention. My curiosity got the better of me, and I moved closer to read what it said.

I reached out to inspect the message and see what it was all about. The note seemed to have something important written on it, and I wanted to know what it said. My mind was still preoccupied with the events that had taken place earlier, but this unexpected message piqued my interest.

"Don't forget to look after yourself. There will be an emergency meeting. Simply turn on the television to hear about the situation. Consume the meal. We'll return home at midnight. Lock the door and keep an eye on your surroundings. Lots of love!"

-Nathalie Cleigh🙂

After reading Nathalie's note, I felt a mix of surprise and gratitude. She cared for my well-being and reminded me to take care of myself while she attended an emergency meeting. The thoughtfulness she put into preparing my meal and leaving instructions showed her genuine concern for me. I decided to follow her advice and turned on the television to hear about the current situation.

Although Nathalie and others might be trying to protect me by keeping secrets, I couldn't help but feel the urge to find answers on my own. I had many questions, and I was determined to discover the truth behind the strange experiences I had been going through. It was time for me to seek solutions and understanding, even if it meant facing unknown challenges.

As I turned on the television and tuned into the news, my curiosity was piqued by the mention of an emergency in Ottawa City. My heart raced as I watched the live coverage of the situation. The news showed a school area, and I immediately recognized it as the location where Nathalie had gone for her assignment.

My anxiety heightened when I saw Nathalie in the footage, running towards the back of the school. I couldn't help but worry about her safety and well-being. It seemed like a serious situation, and I wished I could be there to help or at least know what was going on.

My pulse quickened, and I paced around the living room, unable to stay still. I wanted to do something, to find a way to assist Nathalie or at least get more information about the emergency. The unexpected news had left me feeling concerned and uneasy. I hoped that she would be safe and return home soon.

As I continued to watch the news coverage, I reminded myself to keep an eye on my surroundings and stay cautious, just as Nathalie had advised in her note. I wanted to be prepared for anything and ready to take action if needed.

And what I witnessed astounded me even more. The school's back was completely destroyed, and it was eventually consumed by flames. Below is a statement concerning the news that I read.

The news of the ambush at Ottawa Clint High left me in shock. The destruction of the school and the loss of several young lives were heart-wrenching to hear. I felt a deep sense of sadness and helplessness as I watched the footage on the television.

Clutching my hand tightly, I wished there was something I could do to help, but I felt restrained, as if something within me was holding me back. I wanted to awaken a part of me that could make a difference, but it felt like an invisible force was preventing me from doing so.

As I turned my gaze towards Nathalie, I saw tears streaming down her face. It was clear that she was deeply affected by the tragedy and the loss of the student who had died. My heart ached for her and for all those affected by this senseless act of violence.

Despite not being familiar with the location or the individuals involved, I couldn't bear the thought of innocent lives being lost. I wanted to understand more about the situation, to uncover the truth behind the attack, and to find a way to help in any way possible.

In that moment, I felt a mix of emotions - sadness, anger, and determination. I knew that I needed to find the strength within myself to confront whatever was holding me back and to take action. The events of that day had left a profound impact on me, and I was determined to find answers and stand up against the darkness that had cast its shadow over Ottawa Clint High.

I gasped when I caught a glimpse of someone's shadow. He's staring at Nathalie, who is currently crying. I examined the individual thoroughly and discovered him hiding under a tree. I was even more surprised because he was wielding a knife. He smirked before chucking the knife in the direction of Nathalie. "NOOOO!" Even they didn't hear what I yelled. And it's the first time. I can feel the emotions inside of me and see tears flowing down my face as a result of sadness and insanity.
