Chapter 58 

With Sophie’s consent, Timothy immediately turned around and said to Norman, “Mr. Norman, if that’s the case, I’ll take my leave first. I’ll visit you another day.” 

“Alright, alright. Goodbye then.” Norman did not ask Timothy to stay anymore. He instructed Damian, “You walk Mr. Timothy out.” 

“Yes, Dad.” Damian nodded and immediately did as Norman said. 

Jasmine was surprised. 

Timothy was a junior, but Norman asked her husband to walk him out as a form of 

respect. 

Timothy gave Sophie a glance and nodded at her before leaving the Nicholls residence. 

As soon as he left, Sophie heaved a sigh of relief and felt a bit weak in her legs. 

Surprisingly, Roger quickly reached out to support her. 

Sophie turned her head and asked curiously. “What are you doing?” 

“Sit down if you’re tired,” he whispered as he helped her to the couch. 

Sophie could not help but get suspicious. This guy helped me again at the critical moment. How did he know I felt weak in the legs? Did he really lose his eyesight?”

Nevertheless, she could only sit down, considering Norman was still in the living room. 

Jasmine stared at Sophie resentfully, finding it hard to accept that Sophie was indeed the daughter of the Dawson family. 

Ronald was the one least able to accept the turn of events. 

“That can’t be. Sophie… How can you possibly be the daughter of the Dawson family? I don’t believe it. I absolutely don’t believe it!” bawled Ronald. 

He had pursued Evelyn for so many years, and he did not expect her to be a fake upper- class lady.

His dream of turning his life around seemed to have shattered. 

Seeing how worked up Ronald was, Norman was infuriated. “Shut up! Don’t embarrass me here. Go upstairs!” 

Despite being scolded by Norman, Ronald protested with an aggrieved look, “Grandpa, I’ve suffered such a huge loss, and you’re still criticizing me. I regret not accepting the marriage! I won’t reject it now. Anyway, Sophie and Roger didn’t hold a wedding… I-”

“Dad!” Rebecca couldn’t believe that even after slapping her son, Norman still punished 

him. 

“You shut up too! You’ve educated your son so well that he goes back on his words and rejects the marriage as he pleases. Who does he think he is? After leaving the Nicholls family, he’ll be nothing! Get him out of here now! So he can recognize his place!” 

“Fine!” After being scolded by his grandfather, Ronald suddenly found some backbone. “I will leave! What’s the big deal? As if anyone likes to stay in this family.” 

“Ronald!” Rebecca did not expect Ronald to be so stubborn. In a panic, she reached out to grab his son’s sleeve. 

“Don’t try to stop me!” Ronald was completely enraged. “I’m tired of playing along and

With that, he forcefully shook off Rebecca’s hand and stormed out of the Nicholls manor. 

“Ronald!” Rebecca shouted. 

But Ronald left without looking back. 

Norman, still in a fit of anger, yelled at Rebecca, “If you can’t bear to part with him, then leave with him!” 

Rebecca had never been scolded like this before. So, she dared not to make a sound. 

“Grandpa, simmer down. Don’t let your anger affect your health.” Thomas spoke up at the right time. 

Only then did Norman manage to calm down a little. 

He thought even if the second grandson was unruly, the eldest one was still outstanding. 

“Forget it, let’s not talk about that rascal anymore. It’s late, let’s have breakfast,” said.

He originally wanted to say a few words to Sophie, but he was no longer in the mood.

Humphrey was shocked and could only quietly follow his daughter to the dining room. 

Sophie thoughtfully instructed the servants to deliver breakfast to Daisy before sitting 

down to eat. 

Seeing that Sophie did not change her attitude towards Roger just because she came from the Dawson family, Norman felt much more at ease. After breakfast, he could not help but ask, “Sophie, I didn’t expect you to be the daughter of the Dawson family. Why didn’t you

If Norman had known that Sophie was the daughter of the Dawson family, he would not have stopped her from attending the banquet and would have taken better care of her. 

Sophie shook his head and said, “Grandpa, everyone in the family has their own affairs. Moreover, I’m not sure if my biological parents will recognize me. That’s why I didn’t say anything.” 

Norman nodded in acknowledgment. “You’re right. You’re a prudent kid.” 

Seeing Sophie being praised by Norman, both Jasmine and Rebecca pulled a long face. 

Not wanting to continue dealing with these people, Sophie stood up and said to Norman, “Grandpa, I have to go back to the Dawson family for lunch. I need to prepare, so I’ll go upstairs first.” 

“Alright, go ahead. Do send my regards to your parents,” Norman said with a gentle smile. 

Jasmine couldn’t help but give the old man a disdainful look. 

“Sophie hasn’t even reunited with her parents yet. Dad, don’t be so anxious,” said Jasmine. 

She presumed perhaps the Dawson family would not recognize Sophie at all when she 

went back home. 

Norman rolled his eyes at his daughter. “This is a fact that’s been confirmed. How am I being too anxious?” 

Sophie also nodded. “Grandpa is right. Regardless of the outcome, they are my biological 

parents.” 

There was no doubt about that. 

Sophie shot a provocative glance at Jasmine. 

Jasmine was filled with indignation, but right now, she could only stomach it. 

Because Sophie was right. 

Not wanting to say more, Sophie helped Roger up and the two of them left the dining hall together.

Norman finished his meal and turned to leave. 

Only Damian, Humphrey, and their wives were left.
