Chapter 18 

Ragnar’s eyes were full of anger as he demanded, “What did you say?” 

“This damn woman. Whether it is a provocation or not, she has succeeded in making me mad. I will let her know if I’m capable or not right now!” he 

thought. 

“Since you want to know, come and find out!” 

Ragnar raised his hand and grabbed Josephine’s chin. 

The next second, his thin lips came closer and kissed Josephine! However, it was more like a punishment than a kiss. 

He was doing it so forcefully to vent his anger. 

Josephine struggled, but Ragnar became angrier and kissed her harder. 

After a while, she tasted blood in her mouth. 

Josephine finally pushed the man away as she wiped the blood from her mouth. 

She was so angry that her eyes were teary. “Mr. Levine, what are you trying to do?” 

Ragnar asked, “What do you think?” 

He approached again and grabbed Josephine’s hand. 

Josephine struggled to move away. 

Ragnar’s dark eyes were scary. “What now? You deliberately provoked me and questioned if I’m capable. Are you trying to play hard to get again?” 

The look on his face was gloomy and terrible, just like a beast in the night.. 

“Take off your clothes! Take off all of your clothes! Let’s see if you even have the right to seduce me to satisfy your needs. Hmm?” he mocked. 

Ragnar looked at Josephine coldly. “But… Are you clean? Do you have any other men besides the Hayes family and your ex–boyfriend? Are you carrying any diseases?” 

Josephine was so mad that her eyes were red. “Mr. Levine, please behave yourself! I’m not trying to seduce you or anyone! I…” 

Ragnar interrupted, “This is your only chance! I’ll ask the family doctor to come over and check on you. If you’re clean, I can let you in my bed like Jonathan said. As for the benefits…” 

Josephine said, “I don’t need it!” 

Ragnar became silent. 

He looked coldly at the woman who was putting on an act in front of him. “What? So you don’t need me anymore because you’re with the Hayes family?” 

Josephine felt a chill down her spine. 

She was so angry that her eyes turned red. “Yes! Mr. Levine, shouldn’t you terminate the contract with me immediately and let me leave now?” 

Ragnar almost burst a vessel in his forehead, and the air around him became tense. “Get out! Take your things and get out of the Levine mansion. Never let me see you again!” 

Josephine’s face was full of defiance. She looked at Ragnar coldly and said, “Don’t worry. I won’t show up in front of you in this lifetime!” 

She went upstairs with her head down.

Then, she quickly packed her suitcase and walked back down. 

Ragnar was still in the living room. He watched Josephine leave with her suitcase with his very own eyes. He even suddenly felt that her petite back 

looked pitiful. 

“Damn it!” Ragnar cursed under his breath. 

“What’s the point of pitying such a scheming woman?” he thought to himself 

Ragnar also couldn’t figure the situation out. He was never an emotional person, but why was he so angry today? He thought, “Why am I taking this woman seriously? Leven tried to prove if I’m capable or not. I even kissed this woman. Leven… However, the boiling blood in my body and the urge is real. I have been single for 28 years. Do I really need a woman now? Wasn’t this the woman I brought to take care of Danny and Manny? Whatever she did, it was none of my business! Why on earth did I get mad?” 

On the other hand, the autumn breeze was bleak. After ten o’clock at night, there were no other pedestrians or cars on the winding path in the villa area. 

Josephine dragged her suitcase and walked alone for a long time. 

Then, she squatted down. 

She was not crying. 

She merely felt weak and wanted to squat down to rest. 

“It’s so late. Where can I go? Sloummont is a big city, but there’s no place for me at the moment,” she thought. 

Finally, Josephine called Liliana. She was a little embarrassed. “Liliana, are you busy now? Can you come and pick me up? Also, can I stay at your place for a few days?” 

Liliana was worried about Josephine. “What’s wrong with you?” 

Josephine smiled bitterly and told Liliana, “I was kicked out by the Levine family. I didn’t want Aunt Yennefer to worry about it because it happened so suddenly. That’s why I didn’t want to stay with my aunt. It’s too late to rent a house, so…” 

“Wait there. I’ll pick you up right away!” 

Liliana drove the car and came over quickly. 

It was the same car that Liliana said her friend lent to her before. 

It was an ordinary–looking SUV, but it should have cost at least more than 15 thousand dollars. 

Liliana parked the car not far from Josephine, lowered the window, and shouted at her, “Josie, get in!” 

Josephine put her suitcase into the trunk and got in the car. 

She asked Liliana, “Doesn’t your friend need to use the car?” 

Liliana said, “He has a lot of cars, so he lent me this car for now.” 

Then, Liliana changed the topic and asked Josephine what was going on and why she was suddenly kicked out by the Levine family. 

Josephine didn’t know how to start. 

Soon, they came to Liliana’s rental home. 

Liliana helped Josephine take out her suitcase and went upstairs with her “Josie, you don’t have to rent a house. I’ve been helping to take care of my friend’s house lately. It’s always vacant here, so you can just stay here. When I move back one day, we can live here together, so we can keep each other company” 

Josephine nodded. “Okay”

Liliana helped Josephine clean up everything and let her settle down. She had to go back to her friend’s house. 

Meanwhile, in the Levine mansion, Danny and Manny, who had not gotten used to the routine, began to cry again. However, Josephine wasn’t there to 

comfort them tonight. 

They cried for a long time. 

They cried until their eyes were swollen, and they were panting. 

Even Danny and Manny’s babysitter didn’t know what to do with them.. 

Ragnar’s heart ached as he looked at the children crying. He scolded the babysitter with a dark expression, “What’s the use of you? You can’t even comfort children at all!” 

The babysitter was silent. 

They didn’t dare to speak. They just tried their best to comfort Danny and Manny and hoped to make them stop crying. 

However, Danny and Manny didn’t stop until they were tired and fell asleep. Even when they fell asleep, they were still sobbing. 

The next night, Ragnar and several friends were drinking at the bar. 

Casper was also there. 

He looked like someone had turned him down. He lowered his head and sighed. “Alas, my relationship hasn’t started yet. But, I’m about to say goodbye to my goddess.”

Casper opened his mouth and said, “It’s my niece’s piano teacher. Ragnar, you know her. I sent you the message. That woman is so pure and beautiful! I’m full of dopamine with just one glance at her. She’s totally my type! I’m ready to ask her out. What a pity!” 

Casper was getting emotional as he lamented.
