“They said you were slut and adulterer. You teamed up to trick me!”
Darren’s expression suddenly changed. “Bullshit!”
Leticia was stunned. Facing the harsh criticism, she guiltily averted her eyes.
Hearing Darren’s voice, Leticia came out of her trance and hissed, “Yes. How could you believe the slander?”
“Tiara, we’ve known each other for so long. Do you need others to tell you what kind of people we are? Why did you believe their boring accusations? That’s so hurtful!”
Tears welled up in Leticia’s eyes. She looked extremely aggrieved.
Tiara was impressed and thought it was a shame that Leticia didn’t choose to be an
actress.

However, life was like a movie. Everyone was cut out to be a star!
Tiara pursed her lips, drooped her eyelids, and pretended to be confused and torn. “Not only they, everyone said you and Darren were…”
“Tiara!”
Darren cut Tiara short. He grabbed Tiara’s arm and thundered, “Are you stupid? Don’t believe those rumors! Use your brain! Should you trust them or us? How come you have no self–awareness?”
Darren flew off the handle and scolded Tiara as if he suffered great humiliation.
Tiara admitted that she was stupid.
Otherwise, she would’ve seen through them a long time ago.
However, Tiara was amused to watch them become frustrated and guilt–ridden. She thought Darren and Leticia would come clean since things had gotten out of hand, but she didn’t expect them to be this stubborn.

Tiara was fine with it. She would stick with her plan.
“But what’s done can’t be undone. Why don’t we make a public statement that Leticia and I co–developed First Love?”
“No!” Leticia immediately refused. “Who will believe that after the shitshow? It doesn’t help to save Wave Perfume’s reputation. Absolutely no!”
Darren hesitated. But after hearing Leticia’s rant, he echoed, “Leticia’s right! That’s not going to work. Besides, your bad reputation precedes you. Your statement will be tantamount to an admission of our guilt. You can’t do this. Absolutely no!”
“Then what’s your suggestion?”
Tiara guessed they wouldn’t agree to it. She was curious to know how would they settle the dispute.

“What do you mean?” Tiara arched her eyebrows, unflustered.
“I will hold a press conference. You admit it’s your fault and tell them you wanted to take all the credit. You apologize to Leticia, and the company will forgive you. Then we move on.”
Darren didn’t stutter as if he had practiced it over and over again in his heart.
Tiara didn’t refute. She still pretended to be in a dilemma and said, “But Newborn
Perfume…”
“Decline their offer. Did you sign the contract?”
Darren frowned. He wasn’t happy bringing it
- up.
Most importantly, he had no idea when Tiara went to talk with Newborn Perfume.
Tiara shook her head. “No, I didn’t.”

“Good. Since you didn’t sign the contract, there’s still room for negotiation. They lied to you. I’m already kind enough not to sue them for slanders.”
Darren changed his breath and patted Tiara’s shoulder. “Tiara, you’re too naïve. You don’t know how scheming and sordid the
businessmen can be. I do this for your own good. I don’t want you to get involved in the mess.”
“Let me and Leticia deal with it, so you can focus on making the perfume. Don’t you love making perfume? Isn’t it great that you can commit yourself to the cause you love?”
Tiara stared at him. All this time, he gaslighted and brainwashed her, making her willing to work for them without expecting any return.
As of this moment, he still wanted to let her take the fall. He even righteously said it was for her own good.
If Tiara admitted that she stole the formula and went to another company, she would be

Darren came up with this plan to save Leticia and Wave Perfume’s reputation and simultaneously sully Tiara’s reputation, so Tiara would listen to him in the future.
“Nice try!” Tiara thought to herself.
She decided to beat him at his own game.
“As long as I admit it’s my fault, the loss will be recovered, and you won’t blame me?” Tiara stared at Darren and asked nervously.
Darren was content.
That was the Tiara he knew. She always cared about what he thought. She would never betray him.
Darren hugged Tiara’s shoulder and crooned, “Don’t worry. I know you got tricked by a sleaze. How can I blame you? Some people are just scheming and evil.”
“Don’t be afraid. Leticia and I will
accompany you to the press conference. We’ll

Tiara felt sick. She nodded. “I’ll count on
you.”
Leticia looked at them jealously. She was eager to pull them apart.
But for the bigger picture, she quickly discarded the thought.
After Tiara left the office, Leticia could no longer control her temper. “What spell did Tiara put on you? Why did you believe everything she said? Do you seriously think Newborn Perfume tried to drive a wedge between us? How did they know my relationship with you? Why did they tell her that?”
“I don’t know if Newborn Perfume was behind this, but I’m sure Tiara was suspecting
us.”
Darren took a cigarette out of the package, lit it, and took a drag. Then he squinted his eyes. and said, “It doesn’t matter what I believe. What matters now is to find a way to appease

Leticia let out a sneer. “Do you think she will do everything you say? Don’t forget how she dropped the bombshell last night! Are you not afraid that she will do it again at the press conference?”
As much as Leticia believed Tiara was stupid, she had a terrible feeling this time.
“She doesn’t dare!” Darren puffed out the smoke and shook his head.
He paused. “Either way, I have a backup plan. However…”
“She won’t do it. She doesn’t have the brain for it. What happened yesterday might just be a misunderstanding.”
