Shannon 

It was deafening silence and then a collective loud gasp. His voice was low but everyone heard him, including his men. 

“Alpha Vernon, she was the Luna of the Crescent Manes Pack, she’s a used good, why don’t you pick from those unmated she–wolves?” Someone said, I think it was his Beta.

Only then did Moonhunter tear his intense gaze away from my face, he cast a cold glance at his Beta. I thought he was going to answer him but he did something unexpected. He reached down to my shoulder, turned me around, from facing him to facing all the other people in the room, and he wrapped his arms around me in an almost possessive way. He bent down to my ear level, I felt his breath hitting the spot below my right ear. 

“She’s mine, and mine only. I couldn’t help but tremble as he said this, partly because of his words, partly because of his breath hitting my sensitive spot. 

When he noticed I was trembling because of his action, he brought his lips to brush against my ear, I went from trembling to clenching my legs together involuntarily. He noticed my reaction again, and he chuckled lowly. 

Maybe he decided that he had tortured me enough, he pulled away and ordered. 

“Adonis, arrange for her accommodation, and clean her, thoroughly. You can decide what you want to do with the rest.” 

He waved his hand at his men. His Beta nodded. He took a deep look at me before he left the Pack House hall. There was something in his eyes that I couldn’t place. 

And what confused me the most was, why me? 

Why would the Moonhunter, the strongest Alpha, would choose me to be his bed warmer? Was it because I am the Luna? 

The next thing I knew I was urged to shower by a maid. She led me to the bathroom in the Alpha room. Terry and I lived in a separate house, so the Alpha room in the Pack House was empty, I only came to the room a few times before. But I knew she was leading me to the Alpha room, maybe they thought I lived here? 

“Get in and clean yourself.” It was all she said. If she was here alone to tend to me, maybe I could get away without anyone noticing. 

But my hope was quickly dashed after I realized there was no window in the bathroom since it was an en suite bathroom. And when I look at the door, there were 3 large guards guarding the Alpha room. 

I immediately gave up on the idea of fighting my way out. I guessed I could sneak out after. I was confident in my fighting skill, but it didn’t mean I have to risk my safety to do so.

in the bathroom, I wasn’t dirty per se. I didn’t even get to work out in the gym today. So 1 should be fine with just a shower. After undressing myself, I turned on the shower. The steam filled the room as I remembered the last time I had sex was also in the 

shower 

I was will curious about why Vernon would choose me. Most of the Alphas would mind if their mates weren’t virgins, let alone someone had been married… 

But I wasn’t his mate, I was his chosen bed warmer. I couldn’t help but wonder what would Terry feel if he knew that now I belonged to someone else. Maybe he didn’t mind that since he had his true mate now, was this why he left me here? 

As I recalled the exchange I had with Vernon today, I shuddered. It seemed that he could easily rile me up. 

“I think he likes you” Kaela suddenly said. It was a surprise, she hadn’t really made herself known ever since the night Terry betrayed us. 

“Oh, I can’t imagine why, is it because I have such a killer body and lovely face?” I didn’t mean to be so sarcastic, but I didn’t know why he wanted me to be his bedmate either. 

“Don’t talk about yourself like that, you know it’s not true. But I think maybe it’s something else.” Kaela hated when I doubt myself, but in a situation like this, the last thing I need was to know how I would make a great sex doll. 

“Eh, thanks I guess. I still need to get away, I just need to plan this through. I can’t just be his bed warmer.” 

“Not even if he’s so hot?”

“Not even if he’s so ho… What do you mean? I don’t care if he’s hot or not! This doesn’t have anything to do with my plan!” I was feeling offended by Kaela’s words. 

“Okay, no need to get so riled up about this. I just thought he was handsome and all. It would be a shame to leave without sleeping with the strongest Alpha, don’t you think?” 

“What? What are you thinking? Why would you think like this! 

“You’ve been so sad ever since Terry betrayed us, I just thought you could use some distraction.” 

“I thought you were sad since you don’t really show up after that. Anyway, Vernon is not some random distraction! He’s dangerous! And we need to get away from him!” 

“I could sense that you are upset about Terry, and I just want you to know you don’t have to keep yourself from sleeping with anyone because of him… You know, since he’s with Kaia now, you don’t have to stay loyal to him” 

“I KNOW! But I’m not having sex with Vernon anyway! 

“Okay, okay, geez, no need to get all excited over this.” 

“You brought this up!” 

“Okay, I’m sorry, just, get out of the shower and we will see what we can do, ok?” 

What did she mean what we can do? I’m doing this alone! And Domenica and Nora, what would happen to them? I need to find a way to get us out of here. 

I quickly got out of the shower, my old clothes were gone, and there was a gown laying on the bed, the maid must have taken my old clothes out and brought the gown here when I was showering. 

I picked up the gown and it was sheer lingerie! It was an all–white short dress with spaghetti straps and some lace pattern around the shoulders and hemline, the middle of the dress was just a sheer see–through mess…. 

It was not a gown, it was more like a baby doll lingerie 

I blushed at the thought of this. I had been with Terry for so many years and I had never once worn a lingerie in bed. 

Was this why he choose Kaia over me? Because I was not sultry enough? 

Shaking my head, now was not the time for this. 

The point is I would never wear this for Vernon, the more I looked at this pretty lingerie the more I wanted to tear it up. But if I tore it 

I would have no clothes to wear. There wasn’t even a bed sheet on this bed

I didn’t know what Vernon was up to, but if he wanted to sleep with me, I might as well kill him in bed, I would never allow anyone to take me by force
