I was surprised when Vernon came out of nowhere and stand between me and that woman, he was kind of defending me, I guess? Although it was all his fault, to begin with. 

What surprised me even more was that he didn’t seem to recognize her, I thought she was his concubine or something but he acted like he had never seen her before. 

Vernon had a harem? How many women were in his harem? It seemed that she wasn’t the only one. I’m glad that Terry didn’t have a harem, but still, he wanted me to share with Kaia 

He just let the whole harem go. I wouldn’t be so self–absorbed to think that he did it for me, but why did he do that? 

And then I saw him whisper something to his beta, his beta’s expression changed slightly then nodded. 

After that, he turned to me. 

“Are you hungry? Let’s eat. 

I suddenly remembered why I was here in the first place. And I was about to refuse. 

“I want to talk to… I wanted to talk to Domenica and Nora 

“We could do that later, now let’s eat first. You must be hungry” 

He was not someone who could take no for an answer, I guessed. He gripped my wrist and took me to the table. I sat down beside him. 

“I didn’t know what you like, so I have the maid brought a bit of everything” 

And when I looked up. I saw the girl who just confronted me standing beside me with a tray in her hand. I just heard he said he would make all the women in his harem maids, but I didn’t expect this to happen so quickly. 

She looked really reluctant, she was pouting and her face was long. The tray was big, it looked hard for her to hold on 

I took a look at the content on the plate, there were cereal, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, toast, fresh fruits, etc. It was truly a bit of everything 

“I’ll have a toast, some scrambled egg, and a coffee, please, I told her what I wanted, and I saw her lips pursed. 

“Are you having so much food just for breakfast? 

“We have enough food for everyone, did I ever starve you? Vernon answered her before I could defend myself. 

Plus, I didn’t think that was much, I was just having some carbs and protein for breakfast, it was a balanced diet. 

And then I noticed Vernon took similar food on her tray. 

“You should eat more, Alpha Vernon. She spoke again, earning a look from Vernon. 

“I’m having what she had, mind your own business, you are just a maid here! 

This got her speechless. 

I didn’t expect Vernon to do this, and I wondered if Vernon was in Terry’s position, what would he do to Kaia? Terry wholeheartedly believed that I poisoned her, I wondered if Vernon would know if I was wronged, 

But then again, maybe he would be exactly like Terry, all men were the same, just look what happened to Domenica and Nora… But something told me that Vernon was not like this, I didn’t know why, I didn’t know him that long or well, but I really thought he was different from ‘Terry. 

“You are not eating, do you not like the food?” 

Vernon suddenly spoke to me. It was weird that he noticed, and even weirder that he cared, did he think I didn’t eat because of his concubine’s words?

Terry used to notice whenever I wasn’t in the mood to eat, and he was always the first to notice. And he would urge me to eat some more. But now I doubt he wouldn’t notice me even if I was dancing on the table. He had his Kaia, and that was all he cared about now. 

“No… I was just thinking about Domenica and Nora.” I said as I remember what I was about to do before all this absurd drama. 

“You will have the chance to talk to them, don’t worry.” He reassured me. 

I knew I have absolutely no reason to believe him but I somehow knew he wouldn’t make promises he couldn’t keep. 

I quickly finished up my meal. Just as I was about to ask to see Domenica and Nora, Vernon grabbed my hand 

“We are leaving for my pack now, do you have anything to pack?” 

What? But what about Domenica and Nora? 

“What? What about my friends? And the pack members… 

“Don’t worry, they are coming with us. But you are coming with me so it will be quicker. They will arrive later.” 

I had a feeling that I wouldn’t come back here any time soon. I looked around this Pack House I had been living in for so long. I didn’t know how to feel. 

My life had been tore upside down completely for the last few days. But I knew the moment Kaia stepped into the party, my fate was sealed. But I didn’t expect to be coming home with another Alpha. 

“Do you have anything you want to bring with you? Minus the clothes, I had Adonis order some clothes for you already Vernon interrupted my train of thought. 

“How do you know what size I wear? 

“Well, I did measure you quite thoroughly last night. He said with a smirk. 

Not again, this guy got thick skin! I felt heat raised to my face immediately. 

“I don’t have anything to pack I shook my head, not anything worth packing anyway. Terry was the only thing I cared about in this Pack, and he left without me. So I have nothing to bring with me. 

I heard the helicopter humming outside. Vernon wrapped his arm around my shoulder. 

“In this case then we can leave early, the earlier we leave the sooner we will arrive. 

I nodded and followed his footstep. When I got outside, I took one last look at the Pack House, the white tiles, and the picket fence, they would soon become memories. 

I looked over, Domenica and Nora were standing with his men, so they were following us there, he didn’t lie 

Vernon let me go on the helicopter first, I guessed this time, I wouldn’t be left behind.
