I was woken up by the soft sunlight, the temperature and the humility of the room were just right, just as I was about to move, the feeling of a pair of arms around my waist shocked me. What happened yesterday rushing back to me. 

The Moonhunter attacked us, and then he picked me, but he didn’t force himself on me, I fell asleep in his arms. And as much as I hated to admit this, this was the best sleep I had since Kaia came into the picture 

Before that, I used to wake up in Terry’s arms as well. The warmth radiated from Vernon’s body brought back so many memories, but they were just memories now, Terry left with Kaia, he wouldn’t come back for me, even if he did, I couldn’t forgive him, or forget what he had done. 

Vernon’s cold cedar scent trickled to my nose, he was not up yet. I slowly and carefully turned around to face him, trying not to wake him up. 

I didn’t know if he was a light sleeper or not, so I had to move very quietly, and one step at a time. 

But finally, I turned to face him without waking him up.. 

I looked at him as the soft morning sunlight covered him in a halo, he almost looked angelic. His long and thick eyelasises were resting on his cheeks. His expression was relaxed, it must be a rare scene to see. He was so peaceful at this moment, gone was the commanding way he walk into the pack house yesterday and the cheeky expression he had when he was teasing me. 

I could ride the slide on his nose bridge, he had deep–set eyes, and his brow bone was high, it all made him look so intimidating. But he didn’t look so scary now that he was sleeping so peacefully, if I met him in other scenarios, I might find him attractive, I thought 

But then again. Terry’s jealous tendency wouldn’t let me get anywhere near him. I wonder what Terry was doing right now, was he lying beside Kaia like this? Was Kaia also watching him like this? Or were they sleeping in each other’s armis! 

I didn’t care anymore, Vernon was much more handsome than Terry. 

I shifted my focus back to Vernon again. I could practically see the peach fuzz on his face, I wondered what they felt like. Without thinking. I touch his cheek 

I was immediately met with his blue eyes. He grabbed my hand instantly, I didn’t have time to react, I guessed it was not a wise move for me to touch the strongest Alpha when he was sleeping, he might think that I was attacking him. 

“What are you doing?” He asked in a low and husky voice like he hadn’t fully woken up yet. He was wearing a smirk on his face though, it was kind of infuriating. 

“Not… Nothing.” I blushed as I tugged my hand back to put it on my chest. 

My heart was racing since he woke up, I was trying to calm myself down. 

Finally, when I thought my heart stopped racing for a moment, his face just moved closer and closer, then he kissed me. 

I froze at the spot, then I tried to push him off, but his right hand went to the back of my head, and his left hand caught both of my wrists and kept them in front of my chest, 

I couldn’t move like this. Slowly I closed my eyes as well. 

I felt his chest press against me. His thumb was rubbing the inner part of my wrist, slowly and with determination, he pried open my mouth and his warm wet tongue slid right in. 

I was tongue–kissing with a man I just met yesterday! But damn did he know how to kiss! He must have kissed a lot of women… I only ever kissed Terry. Well, now and hin. 

Just when I was feeling hard to breathe, I wondered if he wanted to kill me by suffocating me to death with his kiss, he finally let go of 

me

I just wanted to smack his face! 

“Go and get freshen up, I will meet you in the dining hall.” He said as he went out of the room, not before giving me a light tap on my

Seriously, what the hell was he doing?! 

I went into the bathroom and did my business. The clothes I was wearing yesterday were hanging on the bathroom door. But it was washed. I looked down to see the lingerie I was wearing yesterday, I guessed I couldn’t exactly go out wearing this. 

I put my clothes on and went out of the bathroom, it’s good to being my own clothes again 

Although I didn’t live in the Packhouse, I did spend most of my time here. I found my way to the dining hall easily. Terry and 1 sometimes joined the others for dinner there. 

That was before Kaia came into the picture, of course. Terry would hold my hand and we prayed before the meal, we thanked the moon goddess for the food she blessed us with, and we would hold hands during that, after we were done praying. Terry would always look up at me first and then smile to me and said thank you. He said he was thanking me for being in his life. 

But that was all in the past FLOW. 

I walked into the dinning hall, and the smell of food hit me. My stomach grumbled. I forgot that I didn’t even eat anything since yesterday morning. The dining hall had two large windows, the natural sunlight filled the room, and there was no need for any artificial light at this hour. The dining hall was filled with faces I didn’t recognize. 

And what made me even happier was that I could faintly hear Domenica and Nora’s voices, they were here! 

As I was moving closer to them when someone came and stopped right in front of me. 

Weirdly, this woman stopping right in front of me looked kind of like Kaia. She had the same blonde hair, and the same bombshell body as Kaia’s. But I knew they were not the same person, they just looked like the same type of women. 

With folded arms, she looked at me with disdain and said in a shrill voice, “Are you the used good that Vernon picked?”
