Similarly, Cameron was no different. 

He was smitten with Sylvia, but she barely noticed him, leaving him no choice but to keep his feelings bottled. 

A few days ago, he saw Ninette. 

She was also very much like an idol. 

Moreover, compared to Sylvia, Ninette’s cultivation level was only at the low stage of Energy Cultivation Stage, so he reckoned that her standards wouldn’t be as high. 

And so, Cameron was tempted.

For the past few days, she had been incessantly pestered by Cameron that she finally relented to his request after getting tired of it, agreeing to be the middleman and introduce him to Ninette. 

As for whether he could succeed, that would depend on his performance. 

Cameron readily agreed. 

However, that was before. 

The situation had changed presently. 

Upon discovering that Ninette was the one going to marry Emrys, Hollie knew that there was no hope left for Cameron. 

Not only was it hopeless, but he would be making a fool out of himself.

Compared to a prodigy like Emrys, he was nothing at all. 

Oblivious to the situation, Cameron eagerly approached Ninette. He put on what he‘ thought was a charming smile, extended his hand, and greeted, “Nice to meet you, Ms. Wicke. I’m Cameron Stewart. Would you be interested in getting to know me?” 

“No,” Ninette replied decisively and definitively without even sparing his hand extended a glance, leaving no room for doubt. 

That completely left Cameron dumbfounded. 

She’s so aloof? It doesn’t make sense. She’s merely a low–stage cultivator of Energy Cultivation Stage. How does she have the confidence to act so aloof? Is it simply because she’s beautiful? This is Mount Kushburn, not the mundane world. Physical appearance is merely a bonus. For a girl of low stage, being excessively beautiful isn’t necessarily a good thing. Does she think she’s Sylvia? 

Cameron couldn’t quite comprehend Ninette’s aloof demeanor, but he maintained a smile, saying, “It’s okay. We can be friends. In time, you’ll discover that I have many admirable qualities.” 

“No, thanks.” 

Ninette’s response remained as resolute as ever. 

She had all she needed in Emrys, so there was no need for her to befriend other men. It would be disrespectful to Emrys. 

Besides, she was going to marry Emrys. Thus, there was no need for her to get acquainted 

with Cameron. 

Despite being a gentleman, Cameron couldn’t maintain his composure after being rejected twice in a row by Ninette and cursed inwardly.

Fury blazed within Cameron. 

Unfortunately, he couldn’t lash out at Ninette since she was a member of the Morris family, no matter what. 

“Ms. Wicker, it’s okay if you’re unwilling to get to know me now.” Cameron retracted his hand. Chuckling lightly, he continued, “I believe there will be a chance in the future.”

Ninette’s performance brought him immense gratification. 

In life, one must play by a double standard. For a man one fancy, one should cling to him. But when it came to all other men, one had to be more decisive in rejecting them, leaving no room for hope.
