In his heart, Emrys severely reprimanded Yelena. 

Then he decided to show some strength. 

He quietly took a few steps back. 

As he stepped back, Yelena immediately became displeased. She turned her head and glared at Emrys, saying, “Rys, what are you doing? Why are you acting so timid today?” 

Yelena was well aware of her own capabilities, knowing full well that she was no match for the man in black. All her confidence stemmed from Emrys. 

At that moment, Emrys had taken a few steps back. 

Upon noticing this, Yelena immediately felt a pang of guilt. 

Emrys curled his lips, remarking, “Didn’t you say you were going to set your dog after him? Where’s your dog? Hurry up and let it out. After all, I’m not that dog.” 

Yelena rolled her eyes. “Don’t you understand that I was just talking tough earlier? Would the other party be scared if I didn’t sound threatening?” 

“You can’t just call me a dog. Also, look at him. Does he seem frightened by your harsh words?” 

How absurd it was, facing a formidable enemy, they first launched a verbal attack, inadvertently hurting their own teammates.

Yelena was overwhelmed with the urge to rush over and give him a good beating, but in a sudden flash of insight, she gracefully sauntered over to Emrys. With a swift motion, she reached out and removed his mask. 

Following that, she planted a kiss on his cheek. 

“Rys, please help us out. Look at this little girl. She’s so pitiful!” 

After giving a kiss, Yelena then playfully shook Emrys‘ arm. 

In that fleeting moment, the surging passion within Emrys rushed to his head like a sudden wave. 

It wasn’t the brashness of Yelena that was feared, but rather her coquettish charm. 

He was feeling it, but he had already sworn that he would absolutely not compromise easily. 

Am I, the dignified Empyrean Lord, truly a spineless person? 

Emrys glared fiercely at Yelena, saying, “Vixen, you sure know how to read people. You’ve instantly found my weak spot. After your kiss, how could I possibly resist?”

“Hide behind me.” 

Emrys swiftly moved Yelena and the little girl behind him, stepping forward to block the path of the man in black. “I wonder, sir, do you recognize me?” he asked.

The man in black paused in his steps. 

After he carefully scrutinized Emrys for a moment, a look of surprise suddenly flashed across his face. However, he quickly followed it with a scoff, saying, “So it’s you. Turns out you’re the holy guardian of our Chanaea, the Empyrean Lord.” 

After Emrys‘ mask was removed, the man in black felt a sense of familiarity with his face. 

At this moment, he finally recognized Emrys completely. It was none other than Sky Devourer Lord. 

Upon recognizing that he had been identified, Emrys gave a slight smile and said, “Since you already know who I am, would there be any issue if I were to say that I intend to protect this little girl?” 

Upon hearing these words, the man in black instantly gave Emrys a peculiar look, his expression growing increasingly strange.
