Mia’s p.o.v.

Waking up to the sun shining in your eyes is a terrible thing. I sat up in bed slowly looking around to see I was in my own bed.

Daniel I thought remembering everything that happened.

Just then the door opened and mom walked inside, slowly, while closing the door behind her.

“How are you feeling Mia?” She asked sitting down on the bed next to me.

My mom is really beautiful. Everytime we meet humans, they always think that she’s my sister.

“Sweetie are you okay?” She pulled me out of thoughts

’I’m okay mom” I mumbled

“Daniel, he left”

“I know” I sighed

“So are you okay about it?”

“I said I’m okay mom!” I shouted and she hugged me tightly

“He doesn’t want me because I’m a human. The same reason always. ” I whispered hugging mom tightly

“It’s okay sweetie. Did he reject you? Maybe he’ll change” she ran a hand threw my hair

“Not everyone is like dad” I replied as she let me go. I wiped my eyes as dad walked into the room.

“We can’t find him. It’s like he disappeared from the planet” dad growled walking towards me.

“If you find him dad, don’t kill him because I want to do it” I muttered

“That’s my girl!” Dad smirked and I rolled my eyes

“I’ll try to find him with Tyler. I’m sure Tyler will be able to find him” mom explained to dad and he sighed

“I still don’t like that you’re not telling me Emily. I thought we had the rule of no secrets between us.” Dad mumbled

“I’m sorry Alec. But I can’t tell you. It’s disrespectful because I think Tyler should tell you. I’ll ask Tyler, if he wants to tell you” mom stood up

“I still don’t like it” dad mumbled, his bottom lip dropping down a little.

“No! Guys please! Just get out of my room!” I exclaimed just as mom was about to lean up

“Come Emily. We know when we’re not wanted” dad pulled mom out of my room.

I wish someone would love me the same, as dad loves mom I thought getting out of bed.

After having a shower, I got dressed in a blue jumpsuit and pulled my hair in a ponytail.

I wore my black wedges, and walked downstairs to the kitchen to see mom and dad talking.

“Are you going somewhere?” Mom asked and I nodded sitting down on the stool.

“Mom, I want to get my own place. I want to live with humans. I am a huma-”

“Your our daughter Mia, and no-”

“But dad it’s true right? I mean I have been bullied all my life because I’m a human and now Daniel-” I took a deep breath.

“But Mia-”

“Please dad. I just want to go live my life as normal. I’ve been living life like all you lot have. I want to be normal”

“But what if you get your wol-” I shook my head at mom

“It’s late now mom. I would never be one of you guys” I mumbled and dad rolled his eyes

“But it’s your birthday tomorrow, and you will be the queen.” She sighed

“I forgot my own birthday” I mumbled laying my head on the counter

“Are you okay Mia?” Dad asked

“I- yeah” I whispered closing my eyes

“You’re going to be 20 years old. Are you excited?” Mom asked changing the subject and I sat up, nodding

“Yep. What are you guys going to get me?” I asked

“What do you want?” Mom asked

“I don’t know to be honest..” I thought about something I want but wasn’t sure.

“Well, there will be a party. And we’ll see what you get” dad smirked before walking out of the room

“Mom, where is Tyler?” I asked standing up

“Tyler? He must be in his room. Why?” She asked taking a water bottle out of the fridge.

“Because” I mumbled and walked out of the kitchen. I walked upstairs to Tyler’s room, and opened the door to see Tyler sat on his chair and writing something.

“Mia” he covered his work and stood up

“Are you ok-”

“You knew right?” I asked walking into the room and closing the door behind me.

“I-I” he sighed

“Why didn’t you tell me Tyler? Do you like me getting hurt?“I asked

“No” he shook his head

“So why didn’t you tell me?”

“If you knew then why didn’t you do something about it?” He asked staring at me

“I didn’t think Daniel would do that. He was so sweet with me and I never suspected him.” I muttered looking at the floor and leaning on the door

“Mia, Daniel has always been like this. Ever since he kil-” he went quiet

“Who did he kill Tyler?” I looked up at him

“No one. But how are you now?” He changed the subject

“Why are you so secretive?” I asked as he started pacing up and down slowly.

“I can’t tell you Mia”

“How do you that I have a wolf and not a spirit?”

“I can’t-”

“Why do you care about me so much?”

“Why do you always be there when I get hurt?

“M-” he stood infront of me

“Are you planning to hur-” he covered my mouth with his hand

“I promise you Mia. I will never hurt you” he whispered leaning down.

“Why do I feel so different around you? Who are you Tyler? What are you?” I asked as he leaned down, while he laid his forehead on mine.

“I can’t tell you Mia. But never think that I would hurt you. Okay?” He whispered looking into my eyes

“Why do you act this way?”

“Am I getting interviewed?” He touched my cheek, softly

“Why are you so sweet? Why aren’t you allowed to get out of your room? Why do you get so angr-”

“I’ll answer all these questions one day. I promise” he mumbled

“It’s my birthday tomor-”

“About your birthday. Tomorrow be careful Mia. Stay next to someone you know. Daniel- he will be back one day and he will come back stronger. You’re mom already knows about it-”

“You’re more powerful than mom right?”

“Well done Einstein” he smirked stepping away from me.

I grabbed his hand and interwined our fingers together

“I know it was you. I know that night it was you, who told me to protect myself from those guys. Why does this feel right Tyler?” I asked and he froze

“I promise I will tell you everything one day Mia.”

“Why not now?” He pulled his hand away

“Pleas-”

“Y-” he turned around and covered my mouth with his hand and pulled me closer so our chests were touching

“I told you Mia. I will tell you when the time is right. Now please leave, I have to work on something really important. Will you leave?” He asked his watermelon breath fanning over my face

“Do you like watermelon chewing gum?” I asked after removing his hand from my face

“Do you like it?” He asked quietly

“I love it” he smirked letting me go

“I’ll go” I whispered stepping back

“Why is your face red... and your heart beating fast? Are you okay Mia” he smirked at me

“I’m perfect!“I exclaimed and walked towards the door

“Happy early birthday Mia” he stopped me and I turned around

“Are you coming to the party?” I asked

“Yes. Everyone has to”

“You can only come with a present” I smirked

“Maybe I’ll get you one” he smirked back

“I’ll be looking forward to it” I smiled

“Maybe you will” he smiled staring at me

“Maybe” he repeated after me

“I have to go now” I pointed to the door behind me

“Do you have to go?” He asked

“I don’t have anything to do but I-”

“Do you want to go?” He asked

“Yes. I have to leave you for your work” I mumbled

“So you can read minds?” I smirked

“There’s a lot of things you don’t know about me Mia”

“And there’s a lot of things you don’t know about me Tyler” I stared at him and the sides of his mouth lifted into a small smile

“And I’ll find them all out”

“And I’ll find them all out too” I smiled

“I’ll see you tomorrow Tyler. I’ll be waiting for my present”

“I hope it’s good”

“I know it will be” I smiled and finally walked out of the room, closing the door behind me.

I took a deep breath and just stood in place.

“Will you be going Mia?” I heard his voice as he chuckled

I walked away to my room quickly and closed the door behind me.
