Saying bye to Leslie isn't easy, but he’s adamant he must return to his realm.

"Is that more tears I see in your eyes?" His eyes twinkle.

"Of course not," I scoff. "I'm glad to see the back of you."

Grinning, he says, "I'm only a transportation spell away." Leslie pulls me and Darius in for a group hug, knowing that's less likely to stir my mate's wolf. "Take care of this one, she's special."

"Yes, she is." Darius stares at me lovingly. "And I will."

Leslie smashes a transport spell and vanishes in a puff of purple smoke.

The following week is a whirlwind of food, sex and celebrating our win. We even have an official Luna ceremony. Ever since, Stacey has made herself scarce. I'm not complaining. I'm happier than I've ever been.

My phone rings. "Hi, Mum."

"Hey, honey. Put on something nice. I'm taking you and Darius out for a meal tonight. I'll pick you up at seven."

"See you soon."

At seven on the dot, Mum collects us and drives to a restaurant she's been raving about all week. It's the same place Leslie kidnapped me from, but I shan't burst her bubble.

"How's the bass," she asks.

"Delicious." I swat Darius’ hand when he tries to snatch a bite from my plate. “Get your own.”

He links me. It looks so good. Let me have one bite. I'll trade you.

He laughs out loud, covering it with a fake cough.

I take a bite of bass, groaning at the juicy goodness.

Smiling, I stab a small piece with my fork. As I'm about to feed Darius, a hand grips my shoulder.

I spin around, ready to throw down. And I'm met with Leslie's mischievous smile.

"Hey, bestie, I need to cash in the favour you owe me."
