Bound to Kill
Chapter 27

Darius

I wake to Lexi rubbing my hard cock through my shorts.

“Morning, my Alpha,” she coos.

“Morning, beautiful.”

I lean in to kiss her, but she’s on the move, planting wet kisses down my chest, her fingers toy with the rim of my shorts. I lift my hips, and she tugs them off.

Lexi’s tongue darts out, wetting her lips—the sight makes my cock throb. I fist the sheets to stop myself from forcing it down her throat.

“Don’t tease, little wolf.”

Lexi smiles, then licks me from base to tip, swirling her tongue on my head before taking me to the back of her throat, sucking hard.

“Fuck!"

I fist her hair, guiding her up and down my length. Every time I hit the back of her throat, she hums, making my balls tighten.

I thrust involuntarily, making her gag.

Jesus!

She peers up at me through blurry eyes. One hand grips my arse, nails digging into my flesh, and the other cups my balls, caressing, fondling.

“That’s it, baby, just like that.”

I thrust again. Lexi chokes, then moans.

Goddamn!

Feeling her desire pumping through the bond adds another layer of pleasure.

Tears stream down her face, and drool trickles from the side of her mouth, down her chin.

Lexi picks up the pace, sloppily bobbing up and down my shaft like a fiend. The sexy moans coming from her throat send vibrations right to my balls. I thrust one more time. My eyes roll as shot after shot of cum spurts into Lexi’s mouth. She swallows, still sucking, milking me dry.

“Shit!”

When I come down from my high, I open my eyes to see her smiling at me. I grab her hips, moving her to straddle my face. “My turn.” There’s no teasing. I pull her down onto my waiting tongue and have breakfast.

Alexa

I throw my head back as Darius feasts on me like a gourmet meal. My hands grip his thighs for support as my hips frantically rock back and forth, riding his face.

I get lost in the sensation, every lick and suck driving me closer to the edge.

Looking down at my mate, eyes full of lust and hunger stare back at me, mouth soaked with my arousal. I pant, so close.

“Yes, yes, yes!”

My body jerks, and I see stars.

Darius flips me onto my back, spreads me wide, and slams balls deep inside me.

“Oh god!”

He sets a punishing pace, taking me fast and hard. The headboard slams off the wall with every thrust.

“You drive me crazy, little wolf. I cannot get enough of you or this perfect pussy.”

I mumble incoherently, feeling another orgasm build.

Our bodies are slick with sweat. The smell of sex is in the air.

Darius grunts as he pounds me harder. I feel his mouth on my shoulder. He bites hard, marking me, claiming me.

I claw at his back and scream as another orgasm slams into me, leaving my voice hoarse.

Darius groans, then stills as he finds his release.

As we regain our breath, our hearts beat in perfect sync. Darius licks his mark, soothing the sting, then kisses it gently.

Resting his head atop mine, he says, “I love you, Lexi.”

Although I feel his love through the bond, hearing the words will never get old.

“I love you, too, Darius.”

Then he makes love to me, slowly.

Adrian links us while we shower. Would you two get your arses downstairs? Leslie has Stacey in his magic bubble. She’s looking a bit green. I think she might cry.

Damn. I always miss the good stuff. Record it for me, will you?

Adrian laughs, thinking I’m joking.

Darius sighs. I’ll be right down. Ask Leslie to stop tormenting my wolves. As an afterthought, he links the entire pack. Everyone, mind your manners while the Fae is here.

Yes, Alpha!

We dry and dress for the important day ahead, then hurry downstairs. To my disappointment, Stacey is nowhere in sight.

Darius takes my hand and leads me to the garden, where Leslie waits for us.

“Wonderful!” The Fae exclaims. “My guest has arrived.”

Raising a brow, I link Darius. Guest?

He shrugs.

Cakking draws our attention to the sky, where a beautiful falcon descends toward us at an alarming speed. Its crow-sized body and 40-inch wing span aid its momentum.

Panic stirs in me. Birds can be vicious. I know from experience. I’m about to shift and have some pheasant for lunch, but as the falcon touches down on the lawn, it turns into a fully dressed man.

“Aglain, thank you for coming, my friend. I hope your flight wasn’t too taxing,” says Leslie, squeezing his shoulder affectionately.

The Druid can shift multiple shapes. Incredible.

“I wouldn’t miss it,” Aglain replies.

“Welcome, Aglain. It’s lovely to see you again,” I say, greeting him with a hug.

Aglain shakes Darius’ hand. “Lead an old man inside. It’s been a long journey.”

“Right this way. Would you like a drink?” Darius asks while leading him inside.

Leslie and I follow.

“What plan are you cooking? Did Aglain agree to help us take down the SEB?”

Leslie gives me a smile that promises mischief. “The more noise we make when we visit the council, the more likely they are to listen.”

Laughing, I shoulder-bump him. “You’re smarter than you look, Unseelie.”

He winks, and we join the others for refreshments.

Before heading to the airport, Darius meets with his advisors. I take a page from Leslie’s book and call in reinforcements.

Hi honey, is everything okay?

I’m fine, Mum, but I need a favour. We’re on our way to the Supernatural Council. Would you come with?”

Of course. What time do you need me at the airport?

One.”

“I’ll see you soon.”

That afternoon, our motley crew of five arrives at the Council Headquarters in London.

The Supernatural Council is our governing body, set up to maintain order and hide our existence from humans. They make the laws, we follow them.

Supes fall under one of four groups: Shifters, Vampires, Magic Wielders and Fae. The most powerful individual in each race gets a seat on the council.

Centuries ago, the first set of councillors created the SEB to ensure all laws get followed. Leslie pulled strings to get us an audience with the council to rectify that mistake.

I stare in awe at the dome-shaped building supported by white pillars. Red carpet covers the stairs leading to the entrance, where two guards stand. The inside is just as grandeur—high ceilings, famous paintings and gold chandeliers. High-ranking supes fill the busy lobby, going about their day.

An aide greets us and rushes us to the great hall. Four throne-like seats sit on a dais at the far end, each occupied by a councillor.

In the first seat is William, King of Shifters. His dreads reach just past his shoulders. He’s dressed casually in a white tee but oozes dominance.

Next to him is High Priestess Anna, the councillor for Witches and Mages. She wears a black cloak and has an air of snobbiness about her.

Beside Anna is Elven Queen Evelyn, the Fae representative. She tucks her white hair behind pointed ears. Out of all the representatives, she seems the most approachable. There’s kindness in her eyes.

The last seat holds Vlad, King of Vampires. Power radiates from him. Vlad has the whole Dracula vibe: jet-black hair, pale face and blood-red lips. He stares at me like I’m a walking buffet. Hairs on my nape rise, and a chill travels down my spine.

As we make our way to the mic in the centre of the room, I lean in to whisper to my people. “I don’t like the way Count Sweaty Sacula is staring at me like a three-course meal. One of you do the talking.”

Darius’ low growl indicates he doesn’t appreciate the vamp’s eyes on me either.

As Leslie stands at the mic, we form a semi-circle at his back. “Good after—“

“No.” Vlad’s deep voice reverberates through the room. “I want to hear from her.”

His gaze locks onto mine. The vamp smiles—purposefully displaying his fangs to unnerve me—making no effort to hide his lust. I suppress a shudder.

Darius snarls. I feel rage through the bond as his wolf fights to challenge Vlad. His claws break free. If I don’t defuse the situation, we won’t survive this meeting.

I turn my back on the council to face my mate and link him. Baby, it’s okay. I’m not in danger. I can handle this.

I know you can, but that filthy bloodsucker is undressing you with his eyes. Darius looks a stone’s throw from hulking out.

New tactic.

But we both know only you will undress me with your hands—I bare my neck, showing my mark—or touch and taste me.

Darius growls for an entirely different reason as desire takes over. The look in his eyes is feral.

Crisis averted. I’m in for a rough ride when we get home. I can’t wait.

I give him a brief kiss and then stand at the mic. Three sets of eyes glare at me, whereas the shifter wears shades and could well be asleep. The elf is finger-tapping, and the witch looks like she’s trying to shoot laser beams from her eyes.

Vlad’s nostrils flare. “Please, don’t stop on our account. We have nothing better to do than look at the back of your head,” he deadpans.

Leslie steps forward to smooth things over. “Please accept my sincerest apologies. They’re newly mated.”

William nods in understanding. “The floor is yours.”

“Thank you.” I take a deep breath. “We’ve come to petition for the immediate termination of the Supernatural Enforcers Bureau.” I assess their expressions, but none give anything away. “We have evidence the SEB is compromised, and the corruption goes right to the top.”

You’re doing great, little wolf. Darius’ voice calms my nerves.

“The bulk of our evidence is against Theo Murray. Two years ago, Theo helped his cousin cover up the murder of Kayleigh Higgins, aiding him in burying her body. May I approach?”

The vampire nods. I move to the foot of the dais.

“This is the journal of Paul Murray, recently deceased Alpha of Lakeside and Theo’s cousin.” I pass it to Vlad. “I’ve highlighted the areas which incriminate Theo. The new Lakeside Alpha is here today.”

Mum comes forward while the councillors pass the journal between themselves. “I’m here to vouch the evidence presented belonged to my former Alpha. He terrorised my pack with spells obtained from Theo.”

The reps nod in acknowledgement. Mum returns to the the others.

“May I proceed?”

“Please,” says Evelyn.

“Theo called on Aglain, the Druid, to resurrect Kayleigh.”

Aglain comes forward to give his testimony. “Too much time had passed—her soul had moved on. When I explained that to Theo, he attacked me with magic. I was able to shift and fly away, but sometime later, he put a hit on me.”

Leslie comes forward. “I’m an SEB Agent. Theo led me to believe Aglain was a dark mage. After conversing with the Druid, I realised Theo was tying up loose ends.”

“Why didn’t you bring this to us sooner?” William asks.

“I didn’t know who to trust,” Leslie confesses. “I also wanted to build a stronger case, and I believe with the help of everyone present, we’ve been able to achieve that.”

Rejoining the conversation, I admit, “The SEB have me on the payroll, too. Theo was my handler. He sent me after Shadow Creek’s Alpha but refused to reveal the reason for the hit. I later found out the Alpha was my mate and the ex-fiance of Kayleigh Higgins.”

Darius steps forward. “I’m another loose end Theo wanted to tie up. When Lexi refused to carry out the hit, he sent his cousin after me. Paul killed several members of my pack using magic Theo provided.”

“Where is Paul now?” Vlad asks.

“Dead. Killed himself,” Darius responds.

Leslie adds, “When Paul failed, Theo tasked me to kill Darius. I played along for a minute. When he figured out I was playing him, he sent another assassin.”

“How was he able to order all these unauthorised hits?” The elf looks unsettled.

“The chief signed off on them,” says Leslie.

“But why?” William asks.

Leslie shrugs. “That we haven’t figured out yet.”

I pull out Oliver’s file. “There is something the SEB didn’t want the council to be made aware of."

“Do tell.” Vlad’s face lights up. “I knew you’d make things interesting around here the moment you walked in.”

I hand him the file. “Theo sent me after Oliver Johansson.”

Vlad looks pissed as he passes the file along. “Yes, we’re aware of Oliver’s case. He did kill our colleague, who happened to be a close friend of mine.”

I nod. “Under SEB order.”

For the first time during the proceedings, the council reps react.

“He obviously lied.” William hisses.

“The SEB would never, they work for us,” Evelyn says, outraged.

Vlad’s eyes darken and narrow to slits. “That’s a serious accusation. You better have proof, wolf.”

All the incriminating evidence up until now meant nothing. The reps only care about Anthony, entitled assholes. I bite my tongue hard to stop the profanities I want to spew at them.

After several calming breaths, I retrieve the last piece of evidence—the file ordering a hit on the former mage representative.

As I pass it to Vlad, the witch who’s been quiet until now jumps out of her seat. “I’ve heard enough of these lies.”

Her hands shoot out toward me, releasing a blast of magic. Flames ignite the file I still hold and shoot up my arm, as though I’m bathed in accelerant. I scream as the fire melts my flesh, futility shaking my arm to douse the flames. Darius rushes toward me, but Leslie blocks him, hitting me with ice, and extinguishing the flame.

I whimper. The cold dulls the pain but doesn't rid the trauma. Aglain taps into his healing ability. His magic soothes and regenerates my skin. I sigh. When Darius feels my pain lessen, he shifts and disappears from my sight.

Leslie

Julia and Darius are in wolf form, snarling at the witch, waiting for an opportunity to attack.

The witch and elf throw magic at each other while the vamp and shifter circle them, ready to strike.

I throw ice at Anna, knocking her off balance and allowing the vamp to use his superspeed. He picks her up by the neck and slams her against the wall.

Evelyn places magic-cancelling cuffs on Anna.

“What the fuck was that?” Vlad screams in Anna’s face. “Are you involved in the assassination of your predecessor?”

She looks at him defiantly.

“Answer me,” he roars.

Vlad sinks his fangs into her, viciously taking long suctions of blood.

I turn to check on Lexi. Darius is by her side. “You need to stop almost dying on me, little wolf. My heart can’t take it.”

She laughs. “Life will never be boring.”

When she’s fully healed, Darius pulls her into his arms. “Thank you, Aglain. Would you consider relocating to Scotland? This one needs you full-time.”

Aglain winks. “I’m only a flight away.”

I return my gaze to the councillors. The witch hangs limply in Vlad’s arm. Fearing she might die and we’ll never get answers, I prepare to blast Vlad with ice. But he stops feeding and drops her to the floor.

Alexa

When I get Mum and D to stop fussing over me, I look for the witch. She's out of commission. I notice William, Evelyn and Vlad stand to the side, whispering among themselves.

Charging over, I break up their huddle. “She almost barbecued me. Roasted wolf isn’t on the fucking menu.” Tremors rack my body. If the witch wasn’t already half dead, I’d kill her. “Quit whispering and tell us what the fuck is going on!”

Vlad steps forward. “When I fed from her, I saw her memories.”

I gape. “I didn’t know vampires could do that.”

“They can’t, I can.” He smirks. “Perks of being king.”

“So, what did you see?”

His eyes darken, and his fangs extend. I take a step back without thought. “Anna is responsible for the assassination of Anthony Black. She found out Theo was fucking Anthony’s wife and saw a way to elevate her status. She hexed Anthony to beat his wife, then persuaded Theo to kill him. With Anthony out of the way, she took his seat of power.”

Jesus! “None of that was in the file. Why did she attack me?”

Vlad checks me for injuries, looking relieved when he finds none. “She assumed her name would be in the file. Where is Theo now?”

“Dead,” Darius says while interlocking our fingers. “Now you know everything we know. What will you do about the SEB?“

“That depends on what Director Daniels has to say,” Vlad states.

Evelyn mutters something under her breath, opening a portal to a rat-infested cell. She uses magic to throw Anna’s unconscious body into the cell. We hear the lock click before the portal closes.

The elf opens another portal, this time leading to SEB HQ. I follow the councillors through. Alarms sound, detecting the powerful magic, bringing the Chief, Deputy Director and Director running toward the commotion.

“Jesus, Vlad.” Director Daniels relaxes. “I thought we were under attack! What brings you all here?”

“We’ve received worrying information about one of your agents. I have to interview each of you separately.”

The SEB heads share a nervous look.

Vlad gives his creepy smile. “Chief, I’ll start with you. Lead the way to your office.”

The rest of us wait in the hall. Agents whisper, curious about the disturbance.

Ten minutes later, Vlad has “interviewed” the three heads. None return with Vlad. “Richard is clean. The others join Anna.”

Evelyn nods and opens a portal, which four guards step out of. Two go to the chief’s office; the others go to the director’s. Agents gasp as the two bosses get dragged from their offices, limp and cuffed, The guards throw them through the portal.

Vlad’s voice booms, “As of today, the SEB is terminated. Pack up your shit and leave the building immediately.”

We did it, little wolf. Darius pulls me close and kisses my head. His relief and excitement ramps up my own.

”Thank you all for bringing this issue to our attention.” William shakes each of our hands.

Deputy Richard comes out of his office.

“I’m sorry for the discomfort,” says Vlad. “I had to know who was involved. The good news is, we’re offering you a promotion.”

Richard looks puzzled. “Didn’t I just hear you terminate the SEB?”

“You did. We’re moving with the times. Assassinations are so… 1900s.”

“I will be heading back to the Faerie realm to get assistance from the other elves. This time next week, we’ll have a supernatural prison, and we want you running it,” Evelyn announces.

“With whose help?” Richard asks. “You just fired my whole team.”

“We don’t trust them. You have a week to find a new team,” William adds like it’s no biggie.

“We already have two bounty hunters for you, If Lexi and…”

“They call me Leslie.”

“… if Lexi and Leslie agree, they’ll hunt and bring in your convicts. Maybe the Alphas will even agree to help.”

Leslie doesn’t hesitate. “I’m in.”

It’s not so simple for me. I only just found my home in Scotland. “I won’t leave my mate or my pack.”

“You won’t have to.” Evelyn gives us each a bag full of teleportation spells. “These will take you anywhere in the blink of an eye. Come to HQ when you need a top-up.”

I link with Darius. What do you think?

He smiles. I go where you go, remember? If this is what makes you happy, we’ll make it work.

My heart swells. I love this man fiercely.

Beaming, I look at the councillors and ask, “When do I start?”
