Chapter-6

After two and a half hours of sweat and labor we were successfully moved into our new home, I sighed it will take some time getting used to it. Well, we moved all our things to their respective places. Sometimes, it’s blissful to have the werewolf’s strength . We can easily lift heavy things without breaking any sweat.

Right now I was placing Ethan’s crib in our new living room and I already fixed one in his nursery, with that I remember to paint it and have to buy some other things for this place to make it more home-like.

I already put my belongings and Ethan’s in our respective rooms and just left to unpack them and place them in my closet, which I decided to do after the welcoming ceremony. After a few more minutes the crib was all done. Joshua and I; mostly it was me who placed the kitchen utensils to their places thanks to Suzie Matt’s mate gave us the spare set of kitchen items and utensils to use and a few missing things we’ll go shopping which I was planning to go to tomorrow.

I mentally made a list of the things to buy from the market with other products for Ethan and a few more toys for both Riley and him”

I heard thumping of stairs indicating Joshua was descending the stairs, he must be done avoiding the work for now. Seriously, he is a lazy ass.

“You’re done” he called out from the living room.

“I should ask you that question” I called back “Are you done avoiding the work?”

“Whatever little brother but, yes I have done just a little shit is left to do, that can wait till the ceremony is over by the way which is in half an hour” he informed me now coming into the kitchen “ for a matter of fact I’m not avoiding the work but you.”

“I know,” I replied, fixing the furniture a little. “Sometimes it feels like I’m the older one here.” Joshua ignored my jab at his tardiness but reminded me once again to be ready for the ceremony.

“If you know that smarty pants then go shower, you stink any way” he said

“And you not” I said walking past him up to my room for the much needed shower and to get ready for the ceremony.

Roman and Emma both were all dressed up in a blue shirt with faded jeans and Emma in her white sundress, looking beautiful and always and little Riley there was dressed in his Pokémon suite, Jeremy was all cleaned up in his white v-neck and dark jeans with vans and carrying Ethan who was also dressed in Pokémon suite just like Riley but, in different color, Joshua was wearing khaki shorts and lime color t-shirt over it and me; I was dressed in faded blue jeans with white shirt with vans with them, I just neared my family and Ethan was the first one to sense me as his eyes landed on me he clapped his hands all excited and extended his arms for me to take him, which I complied with and said “you missed daddy, little one” he made some grudging sound, which I took the hint of yes and further said to him in loving and gentle voice “guess what? Daddy missed you too” lightly kissed his head and patted his back soothingly.

“Oh here you all , c’mon in all the packs members are excited for their new family members, c’mon don’t be nervous it’s going to be alright” comes the gentle and motherly tone of Suzie.

They all nodded at her and went to the pack garden where the ceremony was conducted, me on the other hand stood there all nervous and anxious to go and face all the pack and thought will they be all good or bad, welcoming or I and Ethan will be judged as they don’t know about our story, will it will be good to go or Ethan will face more challenges here. I was thinking so hard that I forgot that I was being watched by Suzie rather too closely I intended to be, not before that she patted my arm lightly and gently said eyeing Ethan who was more interested in her diamond ring “I know what are you thinking and trust me it’s terrifying but, it’s what you have to do and if you are thinking about your son, I can assure you everybody will love him”

I heard what she said clearly and I know the sincere promise of her voice but, again she doesn’t know anything, she further said again “I know about you and Ethan”

I was taken aback by sudden revelation and blinked my eyes rapidly and choked out “you do”

She nodded her head and looked up to me straight in my eye “yes, Matt told me and to be honest I’m proud to say you are doing the right thing and if I was at your place I would have done the same”

“Thank you” I quietly said and I really meant it too.

“No need, now let’s go and make you officially the member of this pack” Suzie and took my free hand and dragged me to the grounds holding the ceremony.

Now the ceremony was officially started and we all were standing on the stage prepared for the ceremony to take place, we all were standing in the line together with Matt and Suzie excluding the kids who were with Summer and Ryan, it’s surprising how they both adapted the surroundings so easily and more importantly were attaining the pack attention specially girls who earlier gathered around them and cooing at them and making them laugh and squeal in glee.

I felt a nudge on my lefty and Joshua was looking a little agitated and perplexed because he was continuously hopping from one foot to another.

“What?” I asked

“Do you smell jasmine with lavender” he asked

“What?” I asked again and sniffed the air

“Do you?” he asked little on edge

“No but, why do you ask?” I asked in whisper

“It’s nothing” he dismissed me

I frowned and asked him “tell me what’s happening to you”

“It’s just that my wolf is restless from the day we arrived, like something big or important is going to happen, it’s just I couldn’t put my finger on it” he explained.

“Ok let’s see to it after the ceremony” I said and at the same time Matt started the ceremony. It’s simple, nothing big but still important to the pack and its members. Matt will chant a few words about how we should respect and show loyalty to our kind and to this pack and how we should stay together through thick and thin and all the other things. And then he will cut his palm and the person joining the pack and join their palms together, mixing of their blood ensuring the link between the person and the pack, it shows the person is not a rogue but belongs with a family;a troop. A Pack.

When Matt, reads the oath or chants those words and cuts his palm along with Roman and Emma and joins their and his palms together, there’s no need for us to cut the palm and repeat the ceremony as the eldest of our family and mixing of their blood ensures our link with the pack. Our alliance with Dark Blood pack.

When the ceremony was over and when all the rituals were performed I was hit by the sudden pressure in my skull, like someone was pushing through my walls to break free and invading my mind but, it was just for a few minutes and gone like nothing happened. When I heard various voices of pack members occupying my head. That’s how I got to know I was linked with the pack and now I was the member of the pack, one of them.

This is my new home.

After some minutes Matt announced “welcome the new members of the pack and let’s get the party started” all the people present applauded and cheered for us and welcomed us with open arms.

After three hours of mingling among the pack members and getting to know some and accompanied with good food, we all were seated in my new living room and relaxing a bit. Ethan and Riley were so exhausted that they were currently enjoying their slumber right now.

Jeremy was sprawled out on the love seat while Roman and Emma were talking about something or someone and me I was currently making the list of things I needed to buy for the house like; cleaning supply, food items, few more utensils, rugs, etc..., the only person was missing was Joshua no one know where he is.

“What are you doing?” asked Emma

“Making list of things that I need to buy” I replied without looking up to her

“oh, can I give you mine and that way I can look for the devils while you buy us goodies” Emma said

I laughed and nodded “sure”

“Can I too?” Jeremy piped in.

“Yeah only if you go with me because I can’t carry this much stuff” I said

“Yeah whatever just buys me my things man, because I’m going to be sixteen next week and I need my stuff” he muttered

“Sure, Joshua is right you are a brat” I said

“Speaking of which, where is he?” Roman asked from where he was seated more like dozing off.

As Roman completed his sentence the front door opened and stepped in smug looking Joshua with a girl with blond hairs and black eyes and announced “family I’m back” and dragged the blond with him and pushed Jeremy out of the love seat and sat there with the girl, who was looking nervous.

We all were looking at him like he was crazy. Never mind he is. Sensing our drilling gazes he just asked “what?”

I put aside the pen and note and asked him “mind telling us who she is or we are going to a wild guess.”

“Oh well, family , welcome the new family member and meet my mate Eva Lockhart” Joshua said, all happy.
