Adam (Jamie)

You know there are various emotions that attack you, play roller coaster with your mind and head, when you see someone after so long a time and, especially when they are your only living parent alive. But, in my case I only felt disappointment. Yeah, that’s right, disappointment, not even hatred can replace this feeling nor can surpass it, because the one relation in this world should love you and support you the most is the cause of your sufferings in life.

She looks different not that I remember her, but the photos of I saw her, she looks more mature and vile now, not all the lovely smile mother throws at you or that grin makes your worry away, but this woman in front of me showing all the signs of the vile person she had became, she is not the mother but, the heartless monster who is after the blood of her own flesh and blood. It’s funny how goddesses show you the way the people are today, selfish, self-centered, cruel, vicious, and many more adjectives out there. Nevertheless, this woman, my supposed mother in her dyed red hair, dresses too short and tight to call it even if the dress looks like a witch from some soap opera.

“What aren’t you going to hug mommy?” said the witch

“well all I see is red hair dyed witch” I countered back

“tsk tsk, such a foul mouth” which said “what would your father say?” laughed in her screeching voice.

“Well he’s not alive, thanks to you Veronica” I spat at her.

She smirked at me “well one less mutt to worry about, so tell me how your brothers, my other sons are”

“You didn’t call me here to ask about their wellbeing, have you?” I retorted “why not just cut to the chase and dive into the point here?”

“Well, aren’t you just like your father” she taunted back “always to the point, stubborn as mule” twisting her red dyed hair with her fingers.

“How would you know?” I taunted back “you weren’t even there” and continued “Are you going to waste my time, because for that I have none?” and made a move to leave this forest and especially the company of a vile creature.

“oh not so fast son” she said “you want to talk business let’s talk business then”

“first thing first, I’m not your son” I said “don’t call me one, my name is Adam, call me that Veronica”

“I prefer mom, but whatever,” the witch said, flipping her hair back.

“I want you and your brother’s power” the witch stated.

“and, why would you get that Veronica, enlighten me would you?” I asked, leaning against the tree.

“oh dear Adam, if you want your mate’s pack and your precious two sons to live, you will do just I say so” witch stated “otherwise be ready for the consequences and regret that you will hold in your heart rest of your life, if you will have one”

“oh my poor Veronica” I said, getting closer to her and whispering just for her to hear “I say bring it on” and moved aside to leave and her stupid threat.

“Well it was nice having a conversation with you Veronica” I said “if we call it one” then without turning back I proceeded to leave.

“You are making the biggest mistake of your life Adam” she said to me “we can together conquer the world of wolves, and can do anything we want” try to persuade me.

“Well I don’t know which world are you trying to conquer, Veronica, because I know this much I have already conquered mine” with that I left the place and proceeded my journey to my world, my mate and sons.

I slowly crept inside the room not to wake up Logan or our sons who again found their way in our bed. I was just wearing the bottoms to go to bed when Logan’s voice startled me “where have you been Jamie?”

“goddess Logan, don’t scare me like this again” I said to him

“Again I’m asking Jamie where have you been” Logan asked again. “and don’t try to lie Roman have already spilled the beans”

I cursed Roman in my head and motioned Logan to follow me towards the balcony, that way we don’t disturb the monsters in their sleep.

“so” Logan said impatiently.

“Well I went to meet veronica: I said little cautiously, and Logan went red faced in a span of seconds, literally. “Nothing bad happened Logan, I’m right here….” Before I could say anything more Logan interrupted me..

“Are you crazy Jamie that women is vile and full of malicious acts and again you went to see here” Logan spat at me “I get that she is your mother, but at the end of the day she is our enemy, your enemy, she wants to take you from me ,from our sons, I can’t protect you when you don’t want to be protected Jamie, you can’t keep things like that when the war is just at our doorsteps, ringing the bell to let us know that it’s do or die, we can’t make mistakes like that”

“I know Logan, trust me I know” I said to him calmly “ but, I have to see her and listen to her myself to make me believe more that she is the same woman who gave birth to me and my brothers and the same woman who wants to destroy us is blink of an eye, Logan” I stood in front of him and pulled him into me, his arms circled my waist “ and I can protect you, our sons and myself just fine, you don’t have to pressure of yourself like that, I don’t want you to [pressure yourself”

“But, I can’t help it Jamie, it’s in my blood to cherish you, protect you, love you….” Logan was saying before I interrupted him

“Is this your way of saying that you love me?” I teased him

“oh Jamie you know that I love you” Logan said “I love you more than anything”

“Well then Mr. Alpha” I whispered back “I love you too” with that confession out of the picture I asked him like my life depended on him. When we parted for a breather, I said “hey Logan”

“hmmm”

“promise me one thing” I said

“anything” he replied back as softly as I said

“If you love me, never protect me” I asked, he gazed into my eyes for some kind of hesitation, but he found none.

“Promise” Logan whispered softly and his lips meet mine to seal the deal.
