Logan

The celebration was in full swing and I’m happy to say that I enjoy being at home, among my pack and people and especially with my family I might add. Later today when I arrived I was smothered with my mother hugs and kisses, well don’t get me wrong I was happy to see her well but frankly it’s quite embarrassing for an twenty four year old man and cherry on top an Alpha being smothered by his mother, yeah I know that’s what I thought.

But in reality she’s my mother and when there’s a mother involved I suggest just flow with the flow. I sighed and took a sip from the beer in my hand and watched all the happy families smiling, dancing and newly mated ones watching each others with doe eyes and felt a pang of hurt in my chest and thought wish my mate was here with me, on my side smiling something I said to her.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked behind to see my brother Ryan watching me with raised eyebrows and I mirrored his action to which he just sighed and said “ why are you alone Mr. Grumpy?” and sat beside me I just shrugged at his question, not at all bothered to answer it and in a few seconds he asked another “okay silent treatment what are you a chick or something or aren’t you liking the party here dude or tell me that you didn’t get laid huh?” while poking my arm for seeking attention, leave to my siblings to assume stupid things all the time, he was still poking my arm and finally having enough of his childness and finally gave in “what do you need Ryan, can’t you leave a man in his peace and just enjoy the night for once” I said eyeing him now totally irritated by his actions, he just rolled his eyes and stood up from his sitting position and said “I’m going for the third one” and left mumbling to himself ‘I wish Jamie was here’ , I frowned at his words and thought who the hell is Jamie. With that I also remember the family who shifted here last month and one of them is supposed to be my beta that dad recruited. I have yet to meet them, holding that though I left to search for my dad and anyway the party was going to be over in a few .

After twenty minutes I found my dad and mom together holding a baby in their hands and talking to some couple from the pack while Ryan was addressing the members and telling them the party is over and now they can proceed to their homes which they reluctantly complied with. I stood beside my parents while the couple bowed their heads in respect and bid their goodbyes to my parents and left for their home, while my parents smiled at me and my dad asked “so son you enjoyed the evening”.

I nodded at this and asked “I was wondering when I’ll be able to meet my new beta family , not that I don’t trust your opinion or the person you suggested will be any harm, just wanted to get associated to him considering I’ll be working with him now on” I trailed off at the last.

My dad just shrugged his shoulder and said “I don’t mind at all and any ways they wanted to meet you too, so let’s hurry before your siblings plum them to death about where’s Jamie” and with that he and mom their way inside while mom was playing with the kid who was giggling like crazy, don’t get me wrong I like kids and all but, giggling like this might get him into fit or something. I shrugged at that thought and entered my house which was nonetheless in chaos. Summer was sitting with a guy who was holding her hand in her, it must be her mate and Ryan was laughing at some other guy’s story while the other couple was talking to my parents and now holding a now calm kid.

As sensing my presence they all turned towards me and Summer ran to my side and dragging to meet the guy who was holding her hand previously, who was looking at me with a smile but, I know he was scared shitless that made me smirked at him and Summer who was oblivious to all the nervousness and introduce me to her mate “Logan meet my mate Jeremy and Jeremy meet my older brother Logan” Jeremy guy stood up from his seat and extended his hand towards me saying “it’s nice to meet you personally Alpha Logan , Summer talks about you all the time” oh brownie points for the Alpha thing I shook his hand and said not scaring the kids , otherwise Summer will have my head “well it’s nice to meet you too Jeremy and welcome to the family” I saw him visibly relax at this and smiled politely at me before I can say anything my mom called me “Logan now leave the poor boy alone and come here and letme introduce you to our Beta’s family” and she mumbled ‘although someone is missing’, I eyed her wairily and thought what’s with all the people today but, sat beside my brother and faced my supposed beta’s family.

“Well….” I started but my mother beat me to it

“Now let me introduce to each other and their family so, shall we begin” and looked for our approval when we all nodded she started “well that your Beta Roman and his wife and mate Emma and their son Riley and to their left is his twin brother Joshua and his mate that you already know is Eva and there is Jeremy that you already meet” I nodded at her and extended my hand to the Roman guy who was holding his son but, shook my hand saying “it’s good to meet you finally Alpha Logan” I just smiled politely and said “well same here but, let me remind you we’ll go down straight to business first thing tomorrow morning” he nodded and said “definitely” and his twin brother nodded his head in acknowledgement , I did the same and asked “well I think we are missing some, if I’m correct” they all nodded “well then may I ask why he or she whoever is missing might have some explanation to it” and I raised my eyebrow for more emphasis.

“Well…” Roman started but his brother cut him and said “well his kid is not well” like it was simple just stating the facts and beside me my mother gasped and asked “what happened to that cherry ball”, cherry ball seriously mom? I thought.

“yeah he got some nasty stomach bug, apparently Jamie being reckless” Joshua said shaking his head but, that little comment earned him a smack on his head by his brother Roman who immediately said “ well avoid this idiot, sometimes he stops making senses just like now” and glared at his brother who was not at all affected by it.

“Well you said he has a kid what’s their name and if that person has a kid so, here’s his mate” I asked curious right now and surprisingly my wolf was pushing me to an edge to ask more about that missing person.

“Well the person is our little brother Adam Jamie Ryker and his kid name is Ethan, he was genuinely sorry to not attend the celebration but, he told me to congratulate you for your arrival” Roman said politely.

I nodded but my mother again took my words “no need to sorry honey baby comes first and they will meet eventually because I’m planning to have dinner tomorrow to welcome my son back so why not you all come along and they’ll both get the chance to meet each other and I’ll have some help and company over” and offered a kind smile at their way.

And this time Emma Roman’s mate said “we don’t want to intrude, it’s your family dinner after all” my mother shook her head and said “no honey you all our family and so you are not intruding anything, right honey” now all the gazes were on my dad who was holding a sleepy baby in his arms when did that happen, “yeah right you all our family and I’m truly missing Jamie’s and Ethan’s presence so why not and let’s celebrate this brat’s arrival” they all chuckled at this , and I frowned and said “not funny dad” and crossed my arms over my chest.

“Awe is little Logan upset, well this might help you know Riley looks more cuter when he’s mad than you big brother just you know” Ryan said pinching my cheeks, I just glared at him and said “well news flash I’m man not a baby and definitely not cute”

Ryan just rolled his eyes and said “well someone is delusional that he’s a man” and winked at me and my scowled deepen at this and to make the matter worse summer joined him and said “yeah definitely delusional Ryan” and further added “just you know Logan Ethan’s scowl is much deeper and manlier than you” and then smirked at me.

“Now I’m getting compared with babies and what’s next on the list then Kim kardashian is my mate, right I don’t think so” I said and then smirked at them knowing they both hate it when I go with their evil plans.

“Well you know what that’s not on the list even,” Ryan said and mind linked me the next part “it’s you are douchebag” and then shut the mind link with the smug look on his face knowing that he won this time. Only in his mind.

Before I could say anything Joshua Roman’s brother said shaking his head “and you said I was a nightmare” and turned towards me and said “no offense” I just nodded in indication of none taken.

After a while they left with the invitation to our family dinner and promised my mother to bring this Jamie guy with them and his son but, for some reason I was looking forward to this dinner with this guy, much much forward which disturbed me to no end.
